Come experience the wonderful world of the honeybee where we encourage you to take pictures. We begin our 1 1/2 hour experience near Tampa, Florida. I have several different locations to choose from ranging from Farm to urban areas. The address showing will not necessarily be the place that you will have your experience. I can be flexible as to location. We will begin with a demonstration of the equipment utilized in beekeeping as well as dressing up in our full bee suits and then immediately start the hands-on experience. At this point you will be able to see, feel, hear and touch apis mellifera (the European honey bee!) as I guide you to a better understanding of these amazing creatures. During our time together you will manipulate equipment, ask questions and get a practical appreciation of the bees. After, you will enjoy a refreshment while we discuss your recent experiences. Upon completion, we provide a 5 oz honey jar and honey dipper to say thank you and as a memento of being a beekeper for a day! Things to note: PLEASE BRING BOOTS or Tennis shoes. There is always a chance of getting stung, So if you are allergic to bees please come with your epi-pen or choose a different experience. We want you to come away from this feeling alive and in tune with the natural world. You will be wearing a full bee suit.

Your experience begins with a 10 minute introductory lesson on how to behave around a horse, how mount a horse, and how to ride. We then embark on an exclusive access 70 minute trail ride to the Lake Proctor Wilderness area and a chance to explore undeveloped Florida. We’ll venture through various ecosystems that make up the 475 acre Lake Proctor Wilderness area. Pine scrub, pine flatwoods, sandhill and bayhead swamps covered all of Central Florida when Conquistadors and settlers explored these lands long before Disney. Each is a distinct eco system, and change before your eyes as thick palmettos and tall pines lead into sprawling oaks heavy with Spanish Moss and resurrection ferns. Trails bright with lichens and moss give way to brackish waters and rich black mud. As we loop back toward home, keep an eye out for bald eagles, sandhill cranes, pileated woodpeckers, a gopher tortoise, and maybe even a gator. Other things to note There is a weight limit of 215. No previous horseback riding experience is required. Any allergies to insects, horses, grass or in general must be disclosed.

Our kayaking eco tour explores both the wonderful waters & beautiful beaches of Shell Key Preserve. This is an entirely outdoors experience! We do have to adjust daily tour times to work with the tides+weather so PLEASE LET US KNOW if you are only available for the 1 time slot you select. We'll meet everyone at the launch, do intros, give waterproof bags,& get prepped for kayaking. No experience needed; we'll give everyone a paddling overview! We use primarily double kayaks for ease+comfort. (Your booking time is the planned arrival time. Average water depth 2ft) After that we'll get launched into Shell Key Preserve, a beautiful shallow environment with tons of wildlife & a very interesting ecosystem which we'll discuss+the history of the Preserve! From the shallow seagrass flats to the large mangrove islands to the pristine beaches of Shell Key itself we'll try to cover it all! Including traveling through some mangrove tunnels (tides permitting, mainly Mar-Oct) We'll also look for+talk about some of our incredible wildlife in the Preserve including dolphins, manatees, & other fish/birds! Your experience will begin in the barn connecting with and grooming - head to toe - your miniature horse. You'll be brushing the mane, tail and body. You’ll also learn how to clean their hooves. "A healthy horse has healthy feet" We will share some fun facts about horses.... are you aware of their two blind spots? What does ear position tell you about your horse? You'll learn three basic commands - walk, whoa, and around and then choose to further explore the West Orange Trail and enjoy a beautiful scenic walk, side by side with your highly trained miniature horse or stay on property and challenge yourself with our obstacles in our Training Center. Take a clear kayaking adventure through Shell Key Preserve, a tropical paradise with unique marine habitats. Your knowledgeable ecotour guide will welcome you and provide brief paddling and safety instructions. Then, you’ll be loaded into your tandem clear kayak and off on a 2-hour adventure! Your tour guide leads the way around the mangrove islands, through the shallows, and to the beach. If the tide is high, your guide will show you a hidden mangrove tunnel. You’ll also take a break at Shell Key Beach, where you can collect shells, take in the views, and be surrounded by nature. Your guide will be happy to take plenty of photos, provide awesome unique facts, and make sure you have fun along the way! While in the preserve, be on the lookout for a Manatee or the beautiful pink Roseate Spoonbills in the summer months. White Pelicans call the sandbars of Shell Key Preserve their home during the winter months! Dolphins frolic in crystal-clear waters throughout the year, and cormorants love to swim alongside your kayak. Don’t forget to look through your clear kayak for a unique view of the ecosystems that are underwater! Chances are that you’ll see a variety of wildlife, but sightings are random and not guaranteed.

Be ready for a paddling excursion that will showcase Winter Park’s natural beauty from the water. We’ll guide the way through narrow Venetian style canals laced with history and lined with some of Florida’s finest flora and fauna. Plenty of birds, fish, and other wildlife will no doubt make an appearance, along with the extravagant houses that are nestled among the lakes. Other things to note - Each of our kayaks are tandem (2 seaters) -The weight capacity must be no more than 250 pounds per paddler and no more than 425 pounds when combined for both paddlers.

After a brief introduction, we will begin the photo walk at the 'Bending Arc' art installation. From there, we will proceed down the walk towards the family park which is a great location to shoot adults and kids. As we continue we will have the option of utilizing the ground level Splash Pad or keep things dry at the Culture Grove. If you choose we can take a quick break at the Beach Bistro or continue taking photos along the green pathway of the Coastal Thicket. You can also decide to stop along the way at various touristy spots that all provide great shots for your and your family. As we reach the end of the pier, we will be begin wrapping up by making sure all of the desired shots were taken once reaching the end at the Fishing Deck.

We will begin by meeting at the N. Ola Avenue entrance of the Armature Works food court. After a brief introduction, we will begin the walking tour just inside the food hall into the courtyard yard as it glows with sunlight from above. Then we shall make our way to the outdoor green space set for patrons to enjoy their food or sit and bask in the sun. The tour continues along the waterfront where you will be able to witness passing boats and a trail of foliage that line that pathway. After crossing the bridge and documenting memories of the experience you will be given the option to end at the sculptures of the u.le.le restaurant or return back to the bustle of Armature Works.

Sunset Horseback Trail Ride starts with an introduction of guests to horses, and level of experience matched from horse to rider. Once properly instructed on how to steer, stop, plus a brief introduction into basic horsemanship, we will mount and depart on a trek through the forrest. Well groomed trails provide the perfect environment to witness the disappearing of the days light, into the the night, and reemerging with glow from the magic of the moonlight.

Come snuggle with baby goats and more. We will meet at the picnic tables at Sweet Berry Barn where we will discuss safely handling animals. Then we will bring out baby goats, bunnies, horses and a Kunekune pig. They are cuddle bugs ready to play. You may hold them, feed and take lots of pictures.

STRIKE IT RICH in the Mine! FUN FOR ALL AGES!! There are real precious gems and rare fossils to be panned in our 70-foot mining trough – and it’s ‘finders keepers’ - Yes you get to keep what your find! Our mining rough has lots of treasures that lie hidden beneath the sand and dirt waiting to be uncovered by you. Just roll up your sleeves - grab your bucket, sifter, trowel and start your adventure panning in the water sluice. The gem bucket has an abundance of various gems such as emeralds, rubies, amethyst and more. The fossil bucket has many of the fossil groups including invertebrates, terrestrial plants, fossilized amber and fish, and you may even find some shark teeth. We encourage you to pan very carefully with just a small amount of dirt in your sifter so you don’t lose anything and then try panning it again in case you missed a treasure. You’re guaranteed to have a good time with family and friends. Kids will love identifying their treasures and their discoveries will make wonderful additions to any rock collection, school project or create a fun bracelet or necklace with their find. This activity is great for all ages and abilities - even the adults will get hooked on the crusade to find hidden prizes! We will provide you with a sifter, bucket & small shovel.
