I'm so happy that I signed up for this particular calligraphy class. It was an easy location to get to with the instructors directions. He was very punctual and extremely comfortable to be with. It was truly an honor to have him teach me beginners calligraphy. Time flew by in his class. A perk is knowing full proceeds go for a cause that he truly is involved in.

An unforgettable calligraphy experience with Tenshin-san!
This workshop was truly one of the highlights of our time in Japan. Tenshin-san shared the art of Shodō with such respect, patience, and a big heart, all while keeping the experience fun with his witty sense of humour. At one point, my cheeks actually hurt from smiling so much!

His story, including his volunteer work with children in Vietnam, made the workshop feel even more meaningful, and we were so grateful to be part of it. Over two hours, we practiced different techniques, guided carefully by Tenshin-san’s expert hands and attention to detail.

You’ll leave not only with your own calligraphy work but also a special gift from him, a perfect reminder of this warm, joyful, and memorable experience. If you’re in Tokyo, this workshop is an absolute must.

Tenshin-san is an 11th dan blackbelt in Shodo, truly a master, but I found he offered me many more lessons beyond Shodo. Tenshin-san is a tremendous man and I am greatly encouraged by his example. For me this was not just a Shodo experience, but a life experience.
