Victoria Park is a wonderful park - it's a walk from the flat, but you can join the canal near the flat and do a lovely walk along the towpath to the park in around 15 minutes. The park has great facilities for kids -an adventure playground and lots of activities in summer. Or it's just nice for a stroll or a run. There are cafes and pubs on the north side of the park in the extremely pretty 'Lauriston village'.

Beautiful place for picnic, walk, run, play with family friends and on your own.
Beautiful Victoria Park - perfect place to end up after a stroll along Regent's Canal
I recommend exploring the whole park. Walk past the Church and through Well Street Common to The Peoples Park Tavern and through the Queens Gate. I'd start heading east towards Hackney Wick going anticlockwise round so you don't miss the London Bridge Stone Alcoves. If you want to learn more about the incredible history of Victoria Park there's some great books in the welcome rack.
