Poole Train Station is not too far to walk on a pleasant day or you can go by taxi or bus (cost about £5 in a taxi). You can get trains to absolutely anywhere and it runs a very regular service.

Poole Railway Station (2 miles, 45 mins). Only 5 mins to the local bus station (from where the No 60 can drop you at the end of my road, but beware the bus may stop running early evening).
