Casa Pueblo is a community self-sustained project with the commitment to appreciate and protect the natural resources, culture, and humans. It started in 1980 when the government of Puerto Rico planned to initiate the mining process in 17 sites of silver, gold, and copper. The mining process would have resulted in an ecological catastrophe in 34,960 acres.
One of the best attractions they have is that they own two Forest. One of them called "Olimpia" is perfect for camping and in front there is a restaurant named "El Campo es Leña" and its specialty are Pizzas in firewood. The other forest has rivers and a natural school. I recommend you look for information, it's a must go. Also ask for the river "El Ataud" and for their delicious coffee planted in Puerto Rican lands and collected by Puerto Rican hands called "Cafe Madre Isla".
