A glacial valley renowned for an early medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin.
Glendalough,Famous monastic site and beautiful scenic hikes and trails. Mount Usher Gardens. Powerscourt estate ,gardens and waterfall.
Good exercise, and brilliant views through the monastic ruins. The two lakes and the scenery will stay in my mind. A bit of a tourist trap with bus drivers who might park dangerously, so good to take care.
This monastery was built in the year 700 AD, to protect the monks from the Vikings. The history of this place is just amaizing. Set in a beautiful valley with 3 lakes which is a wonderful walk for the young and old.
