Downtown is the place to see and be seen. There are a ton of bars, restaurants and clubs as well as shopping.

Downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp District are FULL of fantastic restaurants! The downtown area is the home of the San Diego Symphony and the San Diego Opera as well as multiple theaters and several museums. The San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, are also located downtown. It's also very walkable.
