The Model Railway Village in Clonakilty is such a unique and fun concept and is one of the top things to do in West Cork with kids. They have model representations of West Cork’s best-known towns and villages, which you can walk around and watch as a train moves its ways through the model buildings. You can have some tea in their cafe located in a converted train carriage, or take their Choo Choo Road Train into town.

Super fun for both young & small. Outdoor model railway village, indoor pay gym for smallies, a cafe. Don't miss the train ride you will see it passing through the town regularly.

A visit to the West Cork Model Railway Village is a treat for all ages. Ireland’s only Model Village in Clonakilty is a fully scaled handmade model of the historic West Cork Railway Line with fully working miniature trains and the towns that the railway served during the 1940s. Opening hours: Daily from 10:00 - 17:00, pre-booking required.
