Emperor Jade Pagoda, also known as Tortoise Pagoda, is one of the five most important shrines in Ho Chi Minh City. Built at the turn of the 20th Century by a community of Cantonese who migrated from Guangzhou province in Southwest China, this pagoda is a fine representation of Mahayanist branch of Buddhism that is practiced widely in Vietnam.

Ngoc Hoang (Jade Emperor) Pagoda is famous in Ho Chi Minh City for a set of about 100 statues made from cardboard that depicts a meeting of genies with the Jade Emperor. It has now become a favorite destination of tourists.  During his recent official visit to Vietnam, US President Barack Obama visited this pagoda.

Ngoc Hoang Pagoda was visited by U.S President Barack Obama, located in Mai Thi Luu Street, District 1, Hochiminh city, has been existed for a century. The pagoda was recognized as National Artistic and Architectural Relic.
