There are good donut places in LA. I know them all, but this one is on a strip of quality shops a few blocks from Venice Beach

Donuts. The Apple Fritter is the best. But ask if anything is warm and get that. They will tell you everything is fresh --which it is... but the warm ones are always the best. Donuts run you $4.
