First, you can rent a car here, if you need. The expansive, lovely lobby bar has live music most nights, with a dance floor, to boot. Good food in the hotel's restaurants as well.

Downtown San Jose. The Fairmont offers fabulous dining and drinks. It is also easy to get to via VTA Lightrail and a center of the downtown area.
