The Sheldonian Theatre, located in Oxford, England, was built from 1664 to 1669 after a design by Christopher Wren for the University of Oxford. The building is named after Gilbert Sheldon, chancellor of the University at the time and the project's main financial backer. Great place to listen to music

Beautiful theatre with a painted ceiling. Often holds classical music concerts. Look at dailyinfo.co.uk for what's on today.

A stunning example of the work of Christopher Wren. There are further examples of his work with Tom Tower at Christ Church College and the Radcliffe Camera. Oxford is filled with architectural gems, and this is just one of many.
