The focus here is timeless and durable design, which comes from the philosophy of Kenmei Nagaoka, the shop’s director and designer. This is where you’ll find lovingly designed or remade furniture and household products. The first floor of the Tokyo location is a very minimal, chic cafe, and the second floor is a large, open area with design goods. I specifically recommend the accent pieces and smaller items here—beyond the usual high-quality goods, they’ll often have periodically changing displays with unique Japanese crafts categorized by region. As an example, they might have a display of steelworks from Toyama Prefecture.
