A distinctive Hanoi delicacy, cha ca is white fish seasoned with garlic, ginger, turmeric, and dill served on sizzling pan. Diners also get a bowl of rice noodles, peanuts, chopped spring onions, parsley, nuoc cham sauce, and red chili slices, all of which are meant to be mixed together with the turmeric fish.

“So simple and so good!” Located on the 2nd floor of an unnoticed building in the old quarter of Hanoi, is this one-dish restaurant. You get a sizzling pan on a small fire. In the oan there are small bites of fish fillet, marinated in spicy (but not hot) marinade. You get a small bowl of cut dill and spring onions, a plate of rice noodles for every diner, and a dish with chili oil and a dish with peanuts. All you do is throw the vegetables into the pan, with the fish, and at your convenience put the content over the noodles in a small bowl, season with chili oil or/and peanuts, and that's all.
