Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • Charming space! You'll never believe you are situated in the middle of an established neighborhood. We slept with doors open and enjoyed waking to the view of treetops and sounds of birds. We didn't spend much time during the day at our Airbnb but enjoyed quiet nights and coffee on the charming porch. Clean efficient space, with interesting architecture in a natural setting. We'd stay again!

  • This was my first AirBnB experience and my first time in Asheville. Jakub & Maria were great hosts! They were easy to contact and even offered me rides. Their house in on an amazing piece of property, and at night you can leave the doors open (screens closed) and get an amazing cross breeze and hear the creek trickling by below. Very tranquil, no TV. It's a a quiet neighborhood that's about a mile into West Asheville. If you're up for a good walk, you can also get to the River Arts District and even downtown (but an Uber only cost me $10 to get back from Tupelo Honey Cafe - at rush hour nonetheless).

  • Another great airbnb experience! This wonderful room was clean, quiet and very comfortable for our two night stay. The location was perfect for walking to dinner in West Asheville or a quick drive into downtown Asheville. The neighborhood is very beautiful with some other very interesting houses. Our hosts were spot on in meeting us and helping us get oriented.

  • We were so excited to stay at this gorgeous place. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience. Within the first hour, we saw 15-20 huge carpenter ants in the room. A few were in the bed. Michele was so nice as to go buy us a few ant traps. We set them and left for dinner. When we returned, everything looked clear. Then, as we were getting ready for bed, there was a Daddy Long Leg spider on my husbands chest and three more carpenter ants in the BED!!! At midnight, we left 2 Perdue Place. Having traveled 8 hours from Ohio, spending $100 for this place for my husband's birthday, I'm MORE than disappointed... What really bothers me is that I have been asking for a refund for almost a week now, and NO ANSWER from the hosts. This is the most disappointing Airbnb experiences we've ever had.

    Lisa2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Maria and Jakub are wonderful hosts! Everything was as pictured and we loved the location (convenient to West Asheville, yet secluded in the trees). They also have a lovely cat. :)

  • My siblings and I booked this place for my parents as a Christmas present. They were absolutely in love with it. It is a small place, but plenty of space for just two people. It is also conveniently located near things in Asheville.

    Emily2015-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • To start off, Jakub and Maria's place was a nice change. Relaxing, quiet, comfortable, very clean, and exactly the type of place my wife and I were looking to enjoy. The styling of the residence is more contemporary, as is evident in the photos. The large window, doors, porches play into the natural setting that the house is sited on. It is a very easy and likable way to stay, looking out the window and into the woods. Our visit took place at the transition from winter to spring, so the foliage was a week or so away from starting to bloom. We were greeted by Lisa, who was very helpful. Our schedule had us arriving in Asheville prior to the 3:00 PM check in. Lisa accommodated our schedule and got us in a little early, as well as suggested a number of local places to visit and hike. My wife and I had our own plans, but revised them based upon some of Lisa's suggestions. We did have one hiccup during our stay. The pilot light on the heater in our room blew out and we could not get it reignited. Lisa popped over the next morning and got the heat working again. We searched for instructions on how to reignite the heat, but could not locate any, yet we tried to no avail. Not a big issue, we added an extra blanket and snuggled up. :) We did really enjoy our trip to Asheville and the location of Jakub and Maria's place in West Asheville. Plenty of guides and information were made available; some we used - most were glanced at as we went about exploring on our own. When we return, we would stay here again.

    Will2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful! It felt like you were in your own world but still easy to get to restaurants and shops. Would most definitely stay here again. Plus there was a really friendly cat.

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre gated mountain top property backing up to Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy soaring views, proximity to hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sleep in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator for cabin lights and to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), some cell phone service depending who your provider is, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. There is an outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. As a back up shower, we have a solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) you can use year around as needed...but it would still be an outdoor shower so in the winter it could get chilly out there. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly on Monday mornings sometime between 8-11am. We have an outdoor fire pit a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. Bring your own battery operated fans in the summer. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Bed linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in, but you may want to bring your own drinking water. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books for your entertainment. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Please do not request dates that are not available on the calendar. Our calendar is up to date and accurate. We have a flexible cancellation policy which means that people do cancel on us...so check back in to look at the calendar every once in a while and you may find new available dates. If you can't find the dates you want, check out our other cabin on our property which has beautiful views, and a sweet fire pit right next to it. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21102715?s=51 VERY IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE YOU BOOK: Our road is steep and there are rough patches in the pavement leading up to our gate. All cars can make it up our mountain, but if you are concerned about your car making it, or are scared of driving in the mountains, then this cabin may not be a great fit for you. There are animals in the woods and around the cabin. There are coyotes, bears, bobcats, fox, deer, snakes and turkey. For the safety of your dogs, it is best to keep them on a leash. Use the swing at your own risk. It is super fun...and hangs off the edge of the mountain...which makes it even more fun....but please be careful. The outdoor shower may not always work, even during it's open season. That is why we have the back up solar shower bag for you to use. When we are available, we are happy to come up and get the shower up and running again...but please be aware that this is an off grid cabin and some things take a little extra tinkering to get them to work. The outdoor solar shower bag is available to be used year around as long as it isn't too cold for you to shower outside! I have a nice list of other places to take showers during your stay in the winter. The solar generator is there to run the lights in the cabin and plug in your cell phone. Please do not use it for anything else. If the guest right before you runs the solar generator out of battery power, then you may have to wait a while for the sun to recharge it. If there is no sun to recharge it, then there will be no electricity. Bring a lantern or flashlight along in case this scenario happens. The toilet is serviced on Monday mornings sometime between 8-11am by a pump truck. He has to walk across the front deck to get to the toilet.
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Lovely views!

  • This cabin was exactly what we needed for a getaway! We left feeling refreshed and wanting to live there forever. Our pups even fell in love with laying out on the porch. Beautiful scenery! Haley left detailed notes on how everything works and it was simple to figure out. She was always a text away, if needed.

    Danielle2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was so amazing! Literally all the way up a winding road on top of a mountain with the most beautiful sunrise view. We only were there for the night but sleeping with the door open was so amazing and we couldn't be happier with our visit!

    Cat2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very special spot

    Nat2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my gosh. We are on our way home now and we already miss Haley's place! The drive up is a little scary, but it's so worth it. The cabin is so perfect and has everything you could possibly need. The Porta potty isn't my favorite but makes sense with the space. Make sure you use her rain fed shower... It's amazing. Can't wait to go back!!

    Sara2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome getaway from the city life. No cell service, WiFi, or TV. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Will be looking to book in the future!

    Brenna2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and secluded cabin in a very convenient location. Painless drive to downtown Asheville and all that the Blue Ridge mountains has to offer!

    Francis2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I did a 40 mile section on the AT then stayed in this cabin. It was the perfect upgrade from tent camping all week on the trail. Getting up to the cabin was a little confusing, but we got it figured out. It was SO worth driving straight UP a mountain for. The cabin is teeny, but the view is awesome, the bed is so comfortable, and you have all you need. The outdoor shower was an awesome experience! The location is prime because if you're like us, you want peace and quiet, but don't want to be too far from all the action. Asheville is close by with so many things to experience. Haley took good care of us, making sure we were checked in, had all we needed, and even gave us recommendations on places to eat/drink. This cabin made our trip fantastic! We will come back for sure!

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • We had a wonderful stay at the treehouse. Heather was very responsive and met all of our needs. I would recommend staying at the treehouse, it's a must stay in Asheville.

    Stephanie2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse studio is beautiful!! It's very big and decorated. The hot tub was amazing. Heather keeps the studio very confortable and with lots of amenities (bath products, coffee, snacks, games, books...). The apartment has a code key wich make check in and out easy. The surroundings are awesome, you can see the river from the hammock! Overall a beautiful experience.

  • Heather was the sweetest host! Her guidebook gave insider secrets to Asheville. The home was located on a quiet nice street right above a small river. This was the best way we could have imagined to experience Asheville!

The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • This was a fantastic place to stay. Hal and Cristina go above and beyond to make the place feel like home. We kind of want to move in here. Immaculate, good wifi, everything you need to cook or lay back and relax. Close to amazing 12 Bones BBQ and the river arts district. Not super walkable, but that was fine. Would definitely stay here again.

    Tim2014-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cristina and Hal are wonderful, engaging hosts. Although they live upstairs, we would not have known they were there. The house is located at the end of a gravel road and is secluded. There's a small pond in the back Hal installed and it's peaceful just sitting on the patio listening to it. The interior was as stated in the description and had we wanted to cook, we could have prepared a full meal in the kitchen! Don't let the fact that there are cats concern if you have allergies as we rarely saw them. The house is located only a few minutes from downtown so it's a central location. We had great food at the Wild Duck Taco, breakfast at Sunny Point Cafe/Early Girl Eatery and the best Thai at Suwana's Thai Orchid. Drinks on the patio at The Grove Park Inn overlooking the mountains was the end to a perfect day. We would definitely stay there again!

    Colleen2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nature Lover's Retreat is definitely a retreat! Hal and Cristina have taken such pains to make this a beautiful, warm and cozy retreat. They are both extremely kind, talented and wonderful hosts. Have already recommended this place to others!

    Chantey2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication and easy check-in, and an immaculate space. Everything in the cottage is very well-considered — space for hang clothes, a bench for your bag, outlets and tables in thoughtful places, a spacious bathroom with plenty of shelf space. Much more comfortable and better thought-out than most of the hotels I've stayed in. And, of course, thoroughly charming. It's five to ten minutes into downtown Asheville, and very easy access to West Asheville and the River Arts district. Great value.

    Eric2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time staying in this lovely cottage! It was exactly what we needed for our weekend in Asheville. Cristina & Hal were fantastic hosts- friendly and personal (Cristina checked in with me throughout the weekend) but totally respectful of our privacy. The cottage was very clean, cozy, and nicely decorated. I would absolutely stay here again!

    Priya2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our five-night stay in a peaceful setting! Hal and Cristina were thoughtful hosts! Hal welcomed us and showed us everything we needed. There were thoughtful touches, like hot cocoa, coffee, and fresh flowers! Plus, the location was great and close by to lots of cool shops and eateries in West Asheville!

    Julie2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy and extremely clean cottage! Loved that it is somewhat secluded yet only 10 mins from downtown. Great details such as fresh flowers, heated bathroom floor, welcome snacks and complimentary coffee and tea. Christina and Hal made check/in and out super easy and also gave great food recommendations. Highly recommend!

    Leslie2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The place was so clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated and the amenities (coffee and tea) were a nice touch. The space has a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. I love that they use economic friendly products. The bed is so very comfortable; we didn't want to get up! The photos throughout that the host took are so neat. It was so close to everything we did, but also very quiet and tucked away in the woods. It was easy to check in and out.

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • A unique, fun Airbnb with a good location—a 10 minute drive to downtown Asheville and less than 5 minutes from Lake Louise (for an easy morning walk).

    Eric2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and really unique! We will definitely be staying here again when visiting Asheville.

    Keenan2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark is literally a dream. My husband and I spent the beginning of our honeymoon here and it was the perfect spot. You feel completely surrounded by the mountains while not being too far from the city. The hosts were amazing, super friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend to all our friends and families and we will hopefully return soon!

    Annie2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an issue with the light not working in the cabin. After emailing the host about the situation, I received a response within minutes. She was very quick to get the issue resolved. A+ communication. The place was perfect. Secluded, yet minutes away from everywhere we wanted to go.

    Courtny2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Zac provided directions for how to find the space, and gave us as much privacy as we wanted. It turned out that Zac and Bea were in the hospital welcoming a son into the world the day we arrived, but Zac's mom was available to answer questions and help us out. Even with all that was going on, Zac still responded to messages very quickly and gave great advice on the area when we asked for it. The property and our space was very beautiful, the pictures are not deceiving - the cabin, shower, and bathroom were all very well built, comfortable and lovely to use. There was another couple staying in the nearby bus for part of our stay, but we did't see much of them. The location is very close to Weaverville and a short drive to everywhere else, it is very accessible. The little farm is surrounded by trees and felt fairly secluded, but there are neighbors nearby, and we could hear dogs barking at night and roosters crowing in the early morning. I am a light sleeper (Liza is not), but this didn't really bother us, as everything else about the atmosphere was very relaxing - and a big improvement from the tenting we were doing before arriving at Sparklebark. Overall we really enjoyed staying here, and before we even left Liza was talking about coming back to see the leaves in October!

    Jason2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our stay here. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had in a long time. The location is close enough to Asheville that we were able to return in the afternoons and just enjoy the peace and serenity. Weaverville (just a mile up the road -- really) proved to be a pleasant surprise with some wonderful dining options.

    Chris2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. It was so clean and well kept. It is just secluded enough to make you feel like you're camping but it's close enough to town so that you don't have to travel far to experience the downtown vibe. The hosts were so friendly and helpful as well. Definitely would stay here again!

    Megan2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beatrice greeted us when we arrived and asked if we needed anything, we didn't, we are pretty private people. They were available if we needed them. Place was very quiet. The view was awesome. Wished there was a mini fridge but no big deal really. We used a cooler bag and it sufficed. Very cheap 12 dollar uber ride into town and they were always close by. Best of both worlds really. Remote but close to the city. We hiked craggy gardens and came back and thoroughly enjoyed the shower (tricky to temp control) but so peaceful and love the toiletries they provided. The cabin was spotless and had an awesome clean woody smell. Appreciated the handmade craftsmanship. Thanks guys!

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.

Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • Great quiet location only 10-15 minutes from downtown Asheville. The apartment was clean and was the perfect size for just the 2 of us. Milo and the cats were so cute, they often came to greet us to get some attention... But the best part was the goats! They love to eat banana peels! :) Julia is very kind; we really enjoyed talking with her and learning about her goats. We are already planning on coming back in the Summer!

  • I highly recommend this spot!! Julia is awesome and extremely sweet!! If you're an animal lover you'd love this spot!! Will definitely book again!

  • I really enjoyed my time here. I spent 3 nights and it was exactly what I needed for a quiet, relaxing get away by myself. Milo, her dog, was friendly and a pleasure. I loved learning about the habits of the goats too. There's a super Ingle's and Rite Aid pharmacy close by and close enough to Asheville to do lots of great things. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a private place to stay in the mountains. Thank you, Julia!

    Anne2015-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We came up to spend NYE in Asheville and Julia's studio was perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for. It is just enough outside of downtown to enjoy the quiet outdoors but not so far to enjoy all the restaurants and live music.. Julia was very accommodating and a wonderful host. We will definitely stay here again.

    Sarah2013-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The first thing to mention may be the only thing really necessary. When we stepped through the door, we felt right at home. This was our first time staying in an Airbnb and it more than lived up to our expectations so much more in fact that we will use it judge others by. Julia was a wonderful host who provided everything we needed. All of her animals are extremely friendly and welcoming. We came in on a rainy cold night and I was very appreciative of the tea kettle, extra blanks, and roku box for entertainment. The studio is near a brand new Whole Foods and the Asheville mall. I was also very surprised that my husband and I both got great cell phone and wifi reception. We will be staying here again of that, I have no doubt.

    Lauren 2014-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Julia's studio and a wonderful experience just like the last time. I throughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, Julia's adorable animals, and her vibrant energy. The studio's amenities are well appointed. It gave me a comfortable place to come home to after a day of exploring the fabulous Asheville. I would definitely recommend it and hope to be back soon :)

    Lulu2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location- about 15 min drive to downtown Asheville. Nice, clean accomodations. Friendly host.

    Becki2012-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place was a delight! Peaceful, beautiful, and clean. She responded quickly every time I contacted her. She not only helped me with sites to visit and hiking trails, but she also helped me career-wise with a contact in town! Now that is above and beyond hosting! I would definitely stay here again.

Built in 2010, Waterfall Cottage provides a romantic, comfortable, rustic retreat space in the woods perched just above a magical flowing mountain stream. Drive only 15 minutes into Asheville, 7 to 10 minutes from hiking, restaurants, and grocery shopping.
Our beloved Waterfall Cottage is perfect for an individual or couple who wish to experience the best of both worlds, the peaceful zen of the woods with two mountain streams which come together on our property as well as being within 15 minutes driving distance to both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain (where you will find great abundance of amazing restaurants, shopping, nightlife and other attractions). The cottage contains a queen size bed. There is also a small living space with a futon plus table/chairs for 2 people, full bathroom (from which you have a view of our small waterfall), and a cozy galley kitchen (for simple food preparation). Your own private back deck also overlooks the water. The cottage is located on one acre of land in the Buckeye Cove Community of Swannanoa (between Asheville and Black Mountain). The "main house", where my husband Jason and I live, sits about 50 feet from Waterfall Cottage. If you like, you may also meander along the woodland path which we created along the perimeter of the property. We are eager to share our little piece of paradise with likehearted souls! NOTE: -To get to Waterfall Cottage, you will drive a half mile on an unpaved road. While there is a small amount of incline in spots and the road is not always in the best of condition, you do not need a special type of car to get to us. I personally drive a small Prius(not an all wheel drive car). The only time when driving in our neighborhood becomes problematic is when we are dealing with significant snow accumulation on the road. -Many guests at Waterfall Cottage are not able to get a signal on their cellphone. Usually driving a short distance out of our cove will restore your cellphone signal. Wifi is available in the cottage. Also provided: -Sheets/Towels -TV with Roku including Netflix and live broadcast TV via Spectrum -Air conditioning/Heat -Refrigerator -Coffee maker(fresh local coffee and tea provided) -Toaster oven and Microwave oven -Blender -Two electric NuWave brand burners for cooking -Basic cookware/cooking utensils -Flatware service for 4 people, glasses, mugs, etc. -Standard staples such as dishsoap, handsoap, cooking oil, sugar/honey, salt/pepper. Jason and I have been practicing massage therapists in the Asheville area since 2001. For an additional charge, you can also book a single or couples massage with us for during your visit. Massage sessions will take place on-site in Waterfall Cottage. Massage therapy rates are: $75 per 70-minute session ($150 for couples massage) $100 per 90-minute session ($200 for couples massage) (We prefer that massage sessions are scheduled ahead of time before your arrival if possible.)
  • My boyfriend and I loved our stay at the Waterfall Cottage! It is such a beautiful, cozy, private space with everything we needed to feel at home. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with our coffee in the morning and listening to the sound of the water running right outside the cabin, very soothing and a total retreat. It's not far from Asheville but you really feel like you're in the mountains away from everything - such a fantastic location! Liz was communicative and made sure we had everything we needed and we were able to meet Jason on our way out who was very friendly. Also - I am a big coffee drinker and they provided delicious organic locally roasted coffee - such a nice touch! The wifi was pretty spotty for us but there was a big TV with roku (Netflix - yay!) that we were able to use so it wasn't a problem. Overall this is a great space and we wished we could have stayed longer.

    Catherine2015-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house and its setting were beautiful and we had a truly relaxing stay. Liz was great at communication, providing us with directions to her place and while we didn't need her specifically during our visit we had no doubt she would've been there for us in a moments notice. Thanks again Liz!

    Chris2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Liz and her husband were very welcoming and eager to share their lovely spot in the woods. Sleeping by the babbling brook was delightful.

    Susan2015-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved staying here! It was the perfect get away from the city. Boyfriend and I needed a getaway and this fit the bill perfectly. The cottage is tucked away from the main road with a lovely view of the creek. Also, definitely take advantage of the couples massage option! Liz and her husband were amazing and the massage was exactly what we both needed. They were absolutely professional as well as creating a perfect and relaxing atmosphere.

    Lydia2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful cabin! The description was completely accurate, but I was so impressed by how clean and homey it felt. It was the perfect getaway spot. The hosts were wonderful and gave us all the privacy we wanted. If you're looking for an authentic Asheville Airbnb, this is the place to stay!

    Caroline2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • A quick 15 minute drive from downtown Asheville, this was a dreamy escape after a long day of exploring. The cottage was perfectly heated upon our arrival which was a blessing on the cold and rainy day we arrived. The cabin abuts a little stream with a beautiful waterfall which you can view at your leisure while lounging in the chairs on the back porch. The sound of the water lulls you right to sleep in the large and very comfortable bed. As noted cell phone reception is spotty, however Liz's directions were spot on and we had no trouble finding the cottage. Our only complaint was that we did not book a longer stay!

    Lydia2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The home is located in a serene environment which automatically lends itself to relaxation. The home itself was clean and the environment inviting.

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • We had an amazing time staying with Meg! What a beautiful home and perfect location. We arrived and winter storm Jonas hit but the snow was welcomed and the area perfect for a snow day because we could walk to numerous restaurants and bars and even go sledding! What a special place! I only hope it's available next time we come to Asheville!:)

    Jennifer2016-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the rad pad! Very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The neighborhood was great and we enjoyed exploring West Asheville!

    Laura2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great time here, the apartment is beautifully laid out with some really cool touches - the bathroom in particular - it's a nice relaxing spot just a short drive from downtown which was as cool as had been described.

    Will2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Meg was super easy and we had no issues with arrival. The place was very clean and we loved the neighborhood--great restaurants just a walk away! Meg was super friendly and checked in on us during the stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Asheville.

    Kristen2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed Meg's place. Everything was as described. Beautiful place! I would recommend for anyone to stay here and I would enjoy staying again!

    Samuel2015-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Rad Pad was exactly as described. Communication with Meg was enjoyable, and she quickly addressed any question we had about the area--complete with excellent recommendations. The Rad Pad is quirky. It's obvious that much time and commitment went into making the space unique, inviting, and imaginative. Her attention to detail was reflective in her hosting as well, from her leaving lights on to help us navigate in the dark upon arrival to leaving a welcoming gift. We loved our time there and didn't want to leave!

    Kara2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was excellent.

    Keller2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I just stayed at the Rad Pad, and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The accommodations were excellent, relaxing and quiet. I really loved the robes and slippers left for their guest's use, and the complimentary water in the refrigerator. Meg and Alisa , were great hosts ! and offered numerous choices of good eats and drinks, we will definitely be back!

Paul was very kind and very nice to us. Definitely will recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for all the tips on what to do, where to eat ect.

  • Paul's place has taste, style and soul. I highly recommend staying at this location. The inside of the house is charming and well done. I was grateful to find it, if you are in Asheville you should stay there.

    Ben2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place was great and he couldn't have been more accommodating. Close to downtown but out of the hustle & bustle. Would definitely stay there again.

  • This place was perfect for our vacation. Easily accessible to downtown but far enough away to make it a true mountain getaway. Paul and his family were wonderful and made everything so easy. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return.

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center; 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District; 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery.
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with windows in each of its 4 rooms that offer various views of mountains, forested property, and the Swannanoa River. A sliding glass door in the living room and a glass door in the kitchen both open to your own deck. The hot tub is just a few steps down from the kitchen door on its own deck. Note that hosts do not use hot tub when guests are present. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” HDTV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, PBS, and YouTube TV, which offers network affiliates, cable news, and many sports channels. The huge master bedroom with a king-size bed opens - via a wide doorway (no door - see photos) - to the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and dinnerware, and includes a dining table for two.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for our 2 year anniversary and loved every minute of it! Miriam and Patrick have the cutest, most cozy apartment we could have asked for! Great people, beautifully decorated, and amazing views! Very close to downtown and Blue Ridge Parkway! We had a great time and will be returning!

    Brittany2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic in all respects!

  • Wonderful, clean, comfortable, convenient. So homey. Beautiful surroundings.

    Carol2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam's place is the perfect location from which to visit Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is also very close to restaurants and a grocery store. The place is very comfortable, clean and cutely decorated. The hot tub at night was an added bonus. Miriam and Patrick were great hosts. Would definitely stay again!

    Sherry2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you stay anywhere else, you are missing out. Miriam and Patrick were the best hosts and the space is absolutely amazing. While Asheville has tons to offer downtown it was the perfect place to stay to unwind and relax after a day of exploring. It was so clean and they go to extra mile to provide any little thing you may need. I definitely will be going back to Asheville again and planning the trip around this Airbnb's availability. Thanks Again!

    Caleb2017-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful apartment made out of the walk-out basement. Miriam and Patrick are wonderful hosts that add so many small details which made the stay very special. The location was perfect whether going downtown, riding the Blue Ridge, or heading over to the Biltmore estate. Highly recommended to anybody wanting a nice, private, and extremely well maintained place to hang your hat for a few days.

    Nathan2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBNB experience and I'll have to say our future stays will most likely not live up to how great Miram and Patrick were!! They were so nice and always fast to communicate. They made sure we had everything we needed! They brought fresh flowers and left a welcome card for when we got there showing that they truly care! The apartment is beautiful and very spacious! The hot tub is super relaxing and the hosts were amazing! The house is super close to downtown Asheville or downtown biltmore but you still get a mountain experience which is awesome! I give this place 10stars on a 5star scale! Hopefully next time we stay in Asheville they won't be booked so we can stay again!

Clean, modest 1969 mobile home on a small organic farm. Accommodates up to 4 people. Continental breakfast included. Kitchenette; private bathroom. The advantages of country life just 15 min from Asheville and 8 min from Weaverville: see birds, rabbits, turkeys and deer; enjoy great restaurants and breweries nearby. We are in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina, so there are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, whitewater sports, or just relaxing.
Our place is in a quiet, rustic area surrounded by a few neighbors. It is on a dirt/gravel road at the bottom of a steep hill, so expect bumps along the way. It is ideal for people who like camping and are looking to unplug, since there is no Wi-Fi and cell phone reception may be spotty depending on your carrier. Also, there are fans but no A/C. The home is in a shaded area, so it stays pretty cool most of the time. The space has a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and a queen-size air mattress that we set up for the 5th and 6th guests . If you book for 2 people, please specify if you are OK sharing or would like separate beds. In the kitchenette area, you'll have a sink, regular-sized fridge available to store your food, coffee maker, two-burner hot plate, microwave, toaster, basic pots, pans, plates, and flatware. There is also a basic bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. In the winter, the road to our place can get icy; you should be prepared to park at the top of the hill if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. The neighborhood has a combination of traditionally built houses and mobile homes, which is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Since it is outside of town limits, the area gets pretty dark at night: perfect for stargazing, but big-city folks may not be used to it.
Quiet, rural setting. Dirt/gravel road; expect bumps along the way. The neighborhood, which is very safe, has a combination of mobile homes and traditionally built houses. If you live in a suburban area, you may not be used to this, but it is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Conveniently close to Weaverville (quaint shops & restaurants), Asheville (breweries, restaurants, music scene, Biltmore house) and mostly everywhere in this corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains (hiking, whitewater rafting, waterfalls, horseback riding, ski resorts).
  • The place is located in a quiet, private area but is also very close to downtown Asheville, about 15 minutes. It was nice to be out in a wooded area with a sort of "camping" feel but also be in a building the night it rained, be able to take a hot shower, and have a fridge. There is no wifi there but we were still able to access 4G network inside the home. The bed was very comfortable!! We did not want or need for anything during our stay, we were very satisfied, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Megan2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • MOLD MOLD MOLD This place is in a sunless damp area and is a very very old mobile home. It is obvious, the roof has leaked over the years and is covered in moss and debris. Inside has had water leaks in the kitchen and bath, the floors are warped and the doorway framing at the bottom is rotten 3 to 4 inches up. Before we even entered the house you could see mold growing on the outside and smell the mold. A lot of people are not sensitive to the mold but it is very toxic and causes health problems. We are sensitive to mold and could not stay a week at this place without becoming very sick. We contacted Airbnb and the host agreed to refund us in full. This very very old mobile home should be taken off Airbnb till the leaks are fixed and all the material with mold is removed and tested to be sure it meets health codes of NC LANDLORD TENANT LAWS TO BE FREE OF MOLD.

  • Great experience, just what we needed! If you a looking to travel and explore a new city look into Asheville and stay at Maria’s place. Clean, all the basics, cute little touches and great hosts. The Uber to downtown Asheville was between $20 and $35 depending on the time. There is no WiFi which was noted but there was also very spotty service in general which was a tough at times but overall not an issue. Wonderful hosts that were responsive and helpful! I can’t wait to stay there again!

    Tori2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and quiet! Driveway is steep but we had no trouble in our little Rental car. Perfect for our one night stay while we were in Weaverville.

    Beka2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • They are very considerable and respond very fast, their house is very cozy, my parents and I had a great time.

    Heng2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Maria's place was billed as advertised and was a good stay. it was nice to see there small farm and enjoyed being off the grid. the space had a small fire pit and tailgate gas grill. Would have loved to see the stars, unfortunately, we had a cloudy and rainy night. I would be happy to recommend!!

    Adam2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The airbnb was exactly as described and Maria and Michael were very upfront in their communication before our stay. Many of the comments were true as well- we did see some ants, and there was no A/C or WiFi. The ants weren't so bad and we weren't bothered by the lack of A/C or WiFi. The airbnb is in the shade and there are plenty of windows to get a breeze. While we stayed during a very hot time (85-90 F during the day), the airbnb was still comfortable.

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) tiny home! We are 25 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. You’ll love our place because of the homemade character of the cabin and the natural farm setting. The mountain views and quiet solitude are perfect for couples or a single traveler. Doggies welcome too! Folks love our place as a way to un-plug in style and for it's location to major sights. Come stay in minimalist simplicity and enjoy the sunrise and starry night sky.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our hill and holler covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater AND a stylish wood stove for heat. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. In 2018 we are planning to build an outhouse close to the cabin plus a seasonal bathhouse. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing, music and spiritual retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many book with us to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for our hill's appeal for gardening enthusiasts.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse that will be ready in Autumn of 2018. This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 50+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • If you're debating whether or not you want to stay here then just go ahead and book this place. My partner and I stayed here for two days and only wished that we could have stayed longer! The hosts and their adorable children gave just the right amount of privacy while always letting us know that they were there if we ever needed anything. They were very friendly and interesting people - and talented! An incredible garden surrounding the quaintest property. At dusk, hundreds of fireflies came out and gave the most breathtaking light show. Stay here! I am only hoping that we will be able to come back some day. Thank you, Sofi and Geoffrey!

  • We had a great stay at the cabin with our dogs. Geoff was very welcoming and made us feel at home. We recommend the cabin to anybody needing a getaway from the hubbub of city life.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in this quaint, perfect little cabin for 2 nights and absolutely were not ready to leave by the end! Our favorite part was definitely waking up to a beautiful countryside / mountain sunrise outside of the bedroom window. This small cabin was so cozy and comfortable. Our hosts were very, very kind, helpful, and welcoming. We will definitely be back! HIGHLY recommend this adorable cabin on the hilltop :)

    Annie2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy little cabin checks all of the boxes! The wood stove was fantastic. Loved the physical map on the wall heading up to the loft. Showed up in the dark and woke up to a great view. Also, a nice little selection of books. Be sure to check out Handmade Houses! Great stay and will be back!

After 10 years in Asheville, I still love soaking in the unique history of each expertly designed property.
  • This is a great place in a great location. It’s walking distance to downtown and the local scene. The host was great in providing suggestions for things to do. My accommodations were very clean and private. I would highly recommend and hope to stay here again on my return visit.

  • Liz's place is exactly as it has been described by many other guests. It's a cute refuge on a quiet residential street and is about a 15 minute walk to the downtown. My parents (who are getting older) were not able to make the walk, but I had no problem doing so. The space was very clean and the directions for check-in and out were very clear. The surrounding area of Montford is very historic and there were many charming Victorian-era homes within distance. This Airbnb is a nice change of pace from the chains that can be found in the downtown Asheville area. Thank you.

  • Elizabeth's place is always clean and perfect for our weekend getaways to Asheville. Perfect location, quiet, and has everything we need. She was accommodating to our extra guests and was gracious enough to let us stay one night instead of two when we came down. We've stayed there twice now and we'll continue to stay there when we come to town.

    Maria2018-02-04T00:00:00Z

A lovely 1 bed/1 full bath in W Asheville east walkable to many restaurants, cider house, and brewery. This is a chemical free apt where i don't use harsh chemicals in cleaning or in laundry. Serene location, yet close to it all. There are some essential oils used in products.
A beautifully done private one bedroom with QUEEN bed, one full bath with stained concrete flooring, 9 foot high ceilings, non-VOC paint, PVC free shower curtain, all natural Jute throw rugs (no chemical carpets!). The one bedroom can be closed for privacy from the living room/kitchen. NOTE: While I do not use chemicals in cleaning etc, if you have MCS, please contact me prior to instant booking. I cannot guarantee that you will be ok here. I've had a one MCS person stay here frequently just fine and one other who could not stay. There is also a cat that lives upstairs with me and we do share the air via AC/heat vents. There are also two very sweet semi-feral kitties that live in the garage. Please do not book if you have an extreme allergy to cats as I cannot guarantee if you'll react or not. Fully equipped kitchen (with an added microwave now) with stainless steel ware (no telfon!), pots/pans/drinking glasses/mugs organic cream, olive oil/balsamic/sea salt/pepper and a few things in fridge welcome to all. NOTE: fridge in pic has been changed to a smaller dorm sized one (with some freezer space). It has a stove, dishwasher and small mini fridge with a good sized freezer. The couch and chair are a white cotton chenille from Pottery Barn (so not synthetic). There is also an Austin Air filter (one of the best kinds) in the space and gives the added benefit of white noise if you need. (but it is very quiet here as it is). You have access to laundry (washer and dryer) in the garage which is just off your apt. There is a brand new 32" flat screen smart TV with Netflix to stream from and other kind of channels on smart TV (not cable or antennae). (note: the TV in the picture was damaged and replaced with a new 32"). In addition to the sheets and pillow cases, I also wash the duvet cover after each guests (this is so important to me when traveling) and you get (of course) many fresh towels under the sink. Most everything you need is here - including papertowels, tooth floss, cotton balls, Q tips, pens, paper etc. Extra blankets in the foot stool. I am chemically sensitive and have a hard time when I travel due to fragrance and toxic chemicals used in cleaning products and am happy to offer this to those like me (or anyone for that matter!). It is a strict rule that you also are CHEMICAL FREE while staying here. Synthetic chemicals linger for weeks and settle into furniture and this is geared for those who wish for a healthy chemical free environment. I only use green, effective, and non-toxic products in laundry, cleaning, bath and kitchen. Essential oils are ok and some of the products I offer have essential oils in them - for totally scent free products, please just request as I have these too. You will also be provided with a selection of shampoos/conditioners and other bodycare items to use - all natural (no harsh chemicals). I also provide 1 gallon of filtered water for your stay to get you started before you can get to the store if you only drink filtered water, granola bars, and organic coffee and tea and a bottle of red. The apt is in the lower half of my house and is a private and complete living space - the stairs that connect are not used - doors stayed locked and shut. I live upstairs and practically tip toe when I walk - so you don't get much if any overhead noise. This is a quiet place with no road noise...only the sounds of birds ! While it's officially a basement apt, it doesn't feel that way as the ceiling are high and you have windows with great sun. The apt is not "underground".
I love this neighborhood due to its country feel, but within walking distance to many things.
  • This place was awesome! The location can't be beat- super close to downtown and West Asheville. It was very clean and had everything you could imagine for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy and the neighborhood was so cute. I would definitely stay here again. It's the best airbnb experience I've had to date.

  • Susan was so welcoming. She made us feel right at home. Everything was beautiful and clean. She asked if we needed anything and brought us several large bottles of filtered water. We had a wonderful time and we will go back again.

    Bella2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Susan made us feel immediately welcome -- we entered her beautiful, clean home and had a nice bottle of wine and two glasses waiting for us. Everything was in perfect condition and we had zero complaints or issues our entire stay. Not only was it cheaper than a hotel, but it was more private and much more enjoyable. We will certainly stay at Susan's again next time we travel to Asheville.

    New2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a quiet secluded area of West AVL with a short bike ride to Hayward Street and craft breweries like Archetype, New Belgium, and Wedge. Very clean with excellent amenities like a full featured kitchen and access to a washer/dryer. The refrigerator is not the full size unit featured in the photos, it is a small dorm sized unit. Overall a great place to stay.

    Bob2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was everything we could have hoped for. Thank you Susan!

    Ben2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a nice surprise! This is an adorable, updated, cozy and comfortable apartment tucked away in a very quiet neighborhood! Just minutes away from the downtown area, we were able to see and do everything we'd hoped to in less than 24 hrs. Susan was a very gracious host!

    Karen2015-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was great! Very clean and in an excellent location; my boyfriend and I were easily able to walk everywhere, even downtown. It had everything we needed and definitely didn't feel at all like a basement apartment. It was a wonderful first airbnb for us!

    Tasha2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was lovely and so well kept! Tucked away on a quiet street, but convenient to shops and restaurants in West Asheville - the perfect location. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I designed this cozy, small space (12x24) for myself and have loved living in it! If you have ever wondered what it's like to live tiny (or smallish) come stay and try it out! It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood minutes from downtown...(Uber is available). The deck overlooks a quiet ravine where the bears travel frequently (not as much in the winter). It's quiet and close to everything! Adults only... Thank you! Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view This Tiny House is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors please. Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, and two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • Karen is an excellent host - very responsive, helpful and accommodating. The Tiny House was clean, open, with lots of natural light, high quality appliances, comfortable furniture and even some storage. She has anything you could need and is extremely helpful in providing recommendations and giving her honest opinion. I would recommend this to any individual or pair visiting Asheville for a few days.

    Aimee2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place FAR exceeded our expectations for a cute Asheville loft. Her home is so thoughtful. Literally everywhere you turn, the exact thing you need is right there waiting for you. It's SUCH a pleasant surprise. Sometimes you don't even know that's what you need, but it's there! Of course, the location is good, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is very clean and spacious. But the thing that really stands out are the thoughtful finishing touches. Book this loft and you definitely won't be disappointed!

    Jessica2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for our honeymoon! The house is clean and beautiful, the kitchen is stocked with all the essentials (tea, cream, sugar, coffee, dishes, pots/pan). There was a fresh bar of goat's milk soap in the bathroom. It has everything you need for an extended stay. It's in a residential neighborhood, but tucked back behind the main house so that the view from the back deck and all the upstairs windows is of lush, green forest. You can hear lovely church bells in the near distance. Karen was very quick to respond to messages. Highly recommend!

    Alyssa2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is an amazing host and her place is truly perfect for a long weekend in Asheville! We we definitely be back.

  • Thoroughly impressed with this clean and well maintained tiny home. Enjoyed a very relaxing and private stay in this tiny home. Only 10 minutes from downtown. The host was fantastic—very responsive and her guide to Asheville makes planning so easy.

  • Great, comfy little cabin! Perfect for two. My husband and I stayed here for several days to celebrate our first anniversary. We used Lyft to get to downtown almost daily, which was a quick 10 minute-ish trip to nearly anywhere you wanted to go. The place is quiet and secluded and had everything you need and nothing more. Would definitely recommend.

    Katie2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • How can anyone be stressed about life's worries or world problems when you're sitting in an Adirondack chair, with your morning coffee (or your wine in the evening), on a deck amongst the tree tops??! I love Asheville -- and I love Karen's tiny house. What a perfect getaway - not in a stuffy old motel room - but in this tastefully & thoughtfully equipped little house. You can't help but notice the beautiful carpentry, light fixtures and storage areas. Karen is the epitome of a hostess extraordinaire! Even the dishes, mugs and wine glasses are classy! A sweet touch was a slice of fragrant homemade soap that was most likely from a local craftsman in Asheville. Karen even thoughtfully emailed us, ahead of our arrival, her 'list of favorites' - restaurants and things to experience. We had a marvelous time, thanks to the sweet hospitality of Karen!

Brand new log cabin cottage in the heart of Apple Country! Located 20 minutes from downtown Hendersonville and 25-30 minutes from Asheville. This cozy cabin sits about half-way up Banks Mountain with beautiful views and peaceful nature surroundings.
Adanvdo (Cherokee for "heart" or "spirit") was built out of an inspiration to share the beautiful mountain on which I live. Built with the "tiny home" concept in mind, it provides everything one could want in a cabin while only taking up a 300 sq. footprint. There is a custom-made Murphy bed with a queen Casper mattress for great sleeping, and a loft with a double mattress for children or an extra guest. A small closet with hanging bar sits beside the murphy bed. All bed and bathroom linens are provided. An additional loft sits above the front porch where you can store your luggage and other gear. The cabin is furnished and decorated for comfort, warmth, and charm. For those with chemical sensitivities, I clean and wash linens with Norwex products which are chemical and scent-free. There is a fully furnished kitchen with a 5 cu. ft. refrigerator (bigger than your typical hotel refrigerator), a 2 burner ceramic stove, and a toaster/convection oven. A new gas grill sits on the back deck to give you more cooking options. There is a 3 seat bar in the kitchen area for eating and food preparation. I keep the kitchen stocked with some condiments, teas, and coffee. All you need is a bag of groceries! A flat screen TV is mounted in the kitchen area on a swivel arm for easy viewing from the living area or the kitchen bar. I don't have cable TV here on the mountain, so I have provided a DVD collection for movie time. Step outside of the French Doors onto the back deck with access to a hot tub, nice rockers to soak in the view, a gas grill for a BBQ, and a fire pit area below the deck with a beautiful hand-made log bench. My home is next door, but I am a quiet person (who works) and you will be given the utmost privacy. I have recently rescued a Beagle/Walker mix dog who is very friendly but cannot go outside of my yard due to an invisible fence. If you wish to pet him, please come all the way onto my sidewalk and he will be happy to give you some kisses :) He is only out when I'm home.
Adanvdo is conveniently located only 10-15 minutes from access to Hwy. 26 and 15-20 minutes from quaint downtown Hendersonville. Traveling north you can reach the Biltmore Estate in 30 minutes, as well as eclectic downtown Asheville with lots of great eats! Traveling east you can reach Chimney Rock in 30 minutes as well as Lake Lure. For adventurers, head south to Saluda and the Green River for zip-lining and whitewater rafting! Every direction is filled with tons of great hiking in and around state and national forests. The cabin is also only 25 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • Dana was a perfect host! We could not have had a more peaceful and adventurous honeymoon. What a wonderful home and location to experience all of what the area has to offer.

    Philip2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and quaint! Perfect for an escape from busy city life. There are numerous animals on the property (1 cat and 4 dogs) - not a problem for us because we love animals, just something to be aware of incase you don't like animals. Great value! Would definitely return!

    Rebecca2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute air bnb! This is a little ways away from Asheville and way up in the mountains. It takes about 15 minutes just to get off the mountain but if you’re looking for a secluded getaway then you’ll love this place! It’s super cute and has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Dana is also so respectful towards your privacy! We very much enjoyed our stay here.

    Christen2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is exactly how I imagined it to myself and even better. So clean and cozy, smells nice, has everything one needs for a comfortable stay.

    Sonya2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Dana's cabin in the woods. We were 4 friends staying for a couple of nights and the cabin was perfect for our needs - very clean, great shower, plenty of kitchen utensils and equipment, and the hot tub was the icing on the cake! Dana was great to communicate with and left us comprehensive instructions for checking in and out. The cabin is a short drive from several beautiful hikes and trails. A very relaxing stay; would definitely recommend.

    Jen2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magical time at Dana's cabin. My husband and I use airbnb a lot and this was one of our favorite stays. Dana is an amazing host. She is super friendly, kind and welcoming. The cabin is next to Dana's home but it honestly feels like you are staying on your own private sanctuary because Dana gives you all the privacy you want. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed. You can feel the love Dana put into the place as soon as you walk in. So many great details within the cabin. The neighborhood is great for walking (if you enjoy hills). We loved the hot tub and the fire pit. We had a great time walking the downtown Hendersonville area and it is full with many tasty restaurants. Dana, thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us. We will be back! Xx

    Angela & Enoch2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful wooden cabin, very cozy and clean. One of my favorite vacations to escape the busy life. Its extremely dark at night which was really fun to just walk around and listen to nature. Such a romantic time with my partner. We left this retreat with a different perspective. 100% plan on coming back to Dana's cabin soon again.

    Tiffany2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved everything about Dana's wonderful cabin! My grown daughter and I stayed here for a weekend. Having the loft was perfect, as we each had plenty of space for our things. Dana has done an exceptional job of making the most of the space and ensuring there are plenty of shelves/hooks/etc. to store your items and keep everything tidy. Don't be fooled into thinking this place is cramped! It has been thoughtfully laid out so that it really is quite spacious. The entire cabin is immaculate and so tastefully designed. We didn't cook, but noted that the kitchen is very well stocked (even with commonly overlooked items like a colander, cutting board, measuring cups, and so forth). Both beds and the couch are super comfortable. The tv and dvd selection were an added bonus, giving a way to unwind in the evening. The shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water (both very important to me). We loved drinking coffee while rocking in wooden rockers on the back porch, enjoying the mountain view. The hot tub was an added treat! Dana was easily accessible via text and was a joy to visit with. While she gives her guests the utmost level of privacy, she is readily available, if needed. The only bad thing about the Little Cabin in the Woods was leaving it! Such a wonderful place and I can't wait to return!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • Heed Krista's note about the noise level, the bar downstairs kept us awake until 2 am, including a bar fight, then fire trucks woke us up, then the garbage trucks and finally the delivery trucks and this was on a Tuesday. Wednesday night was better, but the bar, The One Step is open until 2 am four nights a week. Other than that the place is beautifully furnished, clean, well appointed and close to everything. If you want to stay up and party this is the place for you

  • This condo is EXACTLY as pictured. Beautiful, artsy space with high ceilings and tall windows offering a great view of the cozy neighborhood - just the right size for a couple looking to get away. The bed is extremely comfortable and has a wide selection of pillows and blankets to choose from. The hosts provide a folder of their favorite Asheville spots and recommendations - very helpful! They also gave us space, but checked in halfway through our stay to make sure all was well. Everything downtown was within a five minute walk or less. If you have pets, there are several spots to take them for a walk / bathroom right outside!

    Caleb2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful loft, fantastic location, yes it gets loud on weekend nights but Krista prepared us for the noise. The pocket doors and white noise machine worked very well we didn't have any trouble sleeping. Don't let the potential noise deter you from this awesome loft. Krista is a very responsive host.

    Jenifer2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • awesome stylish place right in downtown. Loved it.

    Shane2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Krista's place was excellent--prime location for all of the downtown restaurants and breweries. She checked in on us to make sure our stay was going great, we had a blast! Definitely recommend this place!!

    Jamie2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Krista was a great hostess. The flat was just as described and right in the middle of the nightlife. She offered great advice for food and drink, getting in and settled was easy, and she described what to expect while staying downtown. We had everything we needed and she was just a text or call away. She even checked on us once or twice to make sure things were going well. Don’t be scared by a little noise. The white noise machine and earplugs worked great and we slept like babies (in the super comfy bed)! I would definitely stay here again if we take another trip to Asheville.

    Matt2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Krista's place was perfect in every way. Super convenient for anything downtown, and extremely stylish and comfortable.

    Christopher2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is STUNNING!!! This apartment was the perfect home away from home during a short trip to Asheville. Krista has decorated the place BEAUTIFULLY, and the location absolutely cannot be beat—you’re in walking to distance to everything you could possibly want or need. If you’re staying in Asheville without a vehicle, do yourself a favor and book Krista’s loft. As explicitly stated by Krista, yes, there will be some noise from nearby clubs/restaurants, but you’re in the heart of downtown Asheville, so what do you expect?! PLEASE do not let your concerns with potential noise deter you from booking; it is very minimal and can be easily drowned out with headphones or the white noise machine provided by Krista. All in all, the loft was magical and so was Asheville!!! Please do consider staying here if you’re visiting Asheville!

Country setting and close to town - the perfect mix. Just a short 20 minute drive on the river to downtown Asheville and the River Arts District. Completely unwind in this peaceful setting - relax on the hammock and listen to the sounds of the bold creek. The beautiful studio apartment, with kitchen and laundry, welcomes you after a day of exploring. Nearby attractions include: white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, and all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and shops of downtown Asheville.
Studio apartment in finished basement of residential house. On a quiet private road.
  • Cute place, clean, stylish, within 10-15min from everything.

  • Great hosts with lots of information about the area. Close enough to downtown Asheville for convenient access, but far enough away to escape the noise and busyness of the city. Peaceful and quiet. Would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Asheville.

  • We loved our stay at Randy’s place! The apartment was spotless, comfortable and welcoming. We loved sitting on the patio in the morning enjoying the creek and drinking Starbucks Keurig coffee - a very nice touch! Everything was pristine and beautifully decorated. We’d highly recommend staying at Randy’s apartment. Something to note - (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps leads you in the wrong direction! Take Randy’s directions instead. We got a bit lost, but Randy called us immediately and guided us to the correct place. He was very helpful and greeted us when we arrived. Thanks Randy!

    Lydia2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Randy greeted us upon arrival with a welcome introduction. Their home sits on a lovely, scenic lot with a pictorial view of a meandering mountain creek and pasture of horses. The space is brand new and done modern. I didn't realize how convenient the house was to downtown Asheville. From Randy's door, you are easily downtown in less than 10 minutes. Yet, you still are in the rural countryside.

    Tammy2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet and peaceful place to stay. Randy is an awesome host and had everything you need to be comfortable and more! Space was super clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back!

    Brianna2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Randy’s place was great. It was exactly as shown in pictures, everything was very clean, and it was very good for the price. That being said, there were a couple things that could use improvement. The gravel road by his house had a big sudden dip that always scraped the bottom of our car no matter how careful we were. We have a honda civic, so it’s not a particularly low riding car. The first day we were there the water from the shower had a bad egg smell, but after the first time it was still there, just wasn’t as bad. The couch is extremely hard and uncomfortable, the bed is much better, but the pillows are pretty small and cheap. We found the extras in the closet were much better quality. Also, we like to cook, and while there were the bare essentials (pots, dishes, ect) things like cooking oil, plastic bags, scissors, plastic wrap, foil, and other basics are not provided, so be prepared to bring your own. Overall we had a very pleasant trip and really enjoyed our stay, and the price was unbeatable!

    Emma2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's place rules. You won't regret it.

    Jonathan2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Randy‘s. Amazing amenities including Keurig with coffee pods, water bottles and washing machine and dryer at our disposal, which we found really helpful. Check-in and directions were easy and we‘d recommend the place to anyone wanting to explore Asheville and its surroundings.

Experience the best that Black Mountain has to offer from this unique one of a kind experience! This quaint living space is directly above a little food market and cafe and overlooks a beautiful garden and greenhouse. Only steps away from the heart of Black Mountain and a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Asheville, you will have all of your travel needs met. Wake up every morning to be greeted by the beauty of the garden
This is truly a one of a kind AirBnB experience in the area. Come stay with us and explore the beauty of our studio, market, cafe, and garden in the heart of Black Mountain! What really makes this place unique is the location and the business, the Roots and Fruits Market. Being above a market and the outside cafe overlooking a garden, It's a magic place to be! Lots of great things happen here such as the food and juice truck that's outside, Sunday brunch (April-October)with live music, watching the garden grow and be harvested, enjoy watching the chickens, interacting with people, or just walk around the garden (of course, seasonally that is). The market is open 7 days a week so you will see people around the market area if you choose to. A complimentary farmhouse breakfast and coffee(1 breakfast/juice/smoothie item and 1 coffee per guest and per stay,) are included with the stay. During the peak season (April through December) we serve breakfast and lunch, juices, and smoothies from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m Monday through Sunday, closed on Wednesday. Winter Hours for the cafe are Fri-Mon 10a.m.-3p.m(Nov-Apr). For those guests who stay during the week when the cafe is closed, we provide coffee, eggs, toast, and jam for guests to make themselves. Schedule may vary due to holidays and weather. We want people to feel relaxed and comfortable with everything you may need to start the day off right! . The studio is unique based on the colors of the rooms and cozy layout of the floor plan! This space includes a living room, kitchenette, bathroom, bath tub, and bedroom. We like to think this place is perfect for a couple, a solo traveler, and a group of friends who don't mind sharing space. The bedroom is a short walk away from the kitchenette and does not have a closable door for full privacy from guests who are interested in sharing the studio with two or more.
We are located right in the heart of downtown Black Moutain. Easy walk to great restaurants, bars, music, and gift shops.
  • Cute space. Did not get to experience the coffee and breakfast since we had to leave early, but a quaint place. Easy to get in and comfortable place to sleep.

    Julie2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This space makes you feel as if you have lived responsibly as an environmental steward. The studio is simple, but comfortable with all the amenities one needs. Once outside, you must take a walk around the property and notice that every space has a purpose for sustainable living. From the chickens to the green house, there is feel that you have lived cleanly and added to the mission of going "green." At the foothill of some inspiring hikes and around the block from tasty food this location is perfect. I just wish I had more time to spend and enjoy Kyle's place.

    Kevin2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a charming country feel to this place. Overall quiet..the train only went by a couple times, didn’t last long, & didn’t run all night. Rugs would really, REALLY help it be less cold in there! Or just bring slippers :) There were heaters, but I was there during a very cold spell. Things to note: there are 2 sets of doors - an outdoor door that locks & an inner sliding door that doesn’t have a latch or lock, that separates the Airbnb from the laundry/supply room. The owners—& maybe market staff?—do access that laundry/supply room as needed. The sliding door doesn’t have a bottom track, so a dog could potentially push through. Full kitchen! but no microwave. Kyle wasn’t around but his mother was friendly & welcoming. Bed & pillows were super comfy!!! I loved the look of the older-style living room furniture but they weren’t too comfy to sit on for an extended amount of time. Great pizza place just down the block, & shopping within walking distance. Super cute town!

  • Beautiful little space to rest your head for the night!

    Ben2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was like camping in a funky cabin, but with amenities. Truly the best of both worlds. We went to a great French/Cuban restaurant 2 blocks away that we really enjoyed. I was amazed at this little town that really was like a mini Asheville! So many cool shops! Do NOT miss the breakfast they offer in the morning with the room! And oh my goodness....the butter coffee! Very cool shop with local honey, jams and coffee (makes for a wonderful gift basket!) Everyone in town was just as sweet as the people at Roots & Fruits. Great dog ahold - Bone a fide, and the awesome shop next door that has a little bit of everything. Great vibe here!

  • Very relax. No crazy check in process. Got in an enjoyed the space. The breakfast on Sunday was amazing and the band that day was an adventure. Can't do that anywhere else.

    Adriana2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great time! The place was homey and only what we needed. We never got to check out the Market since we spent most of our days hiking. We'd love to come back. Thanks for everything.

    Angela2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's place is such a great spot! Comfortable accommodations with easy walking distance to downtown Black Mountain. Everyone we interacted with at the store was as nice as can be. We'll definitely try to stay here again for future visits. Thank you again Kyle!

One bedroom, one bath private basement apartment in beautiful mountain home. Private entrance, incredible views and tons of outdoor space including fire pit.
Finished basement apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed, cedar lined closet and vanity closet with sink. There is no window in the bedroom. Some people really like having a very dark bedroom, for others it can be unsettling. Both the kitchen and the bathroom do have windows. The laundry room has washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, along with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and toaster. This kitchen is not set up for heavy duty cooking (no pots and pans, stove top or oven) but it gets the job done for casual meals or reheating leftovers. Dishes are provided. The bathroom is small but has excellent water pressure. Please note that there is no internet or cell reception indoors, although you can get a clear signal outside. There is a tv with a dvd player and movies, no cable. Also note that you must walk through my garage to get into the basement apartment. The house has beautiful views and loads of space to roam. There's an outdoor fire pit that you are more than welcome to use, and hammocks for lounging in the summer. Very private location that feels like you're far out in the woods but you're really only minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that there isn't really one! The house is fairly secluded but still only a short drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. The roads close to my home are very windy, so you may want to add a few minutes to your expected commute if you're not used to mountain roads.
  • Ellie's place is wonderful! We loved having the basement to ourselves- we could store food in the fridge and heat it up for dinner, and sit in her backyard and watch the rain. It's a wonderful, remote house, but we actually got cell reception when we were outside (AT&T). There is a lot of space, and the twinkling lights are very charming. Plus the house is a short drive to the blue ridge parkway! Great stay.

    Kaitlin2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we needed throughout our stay was provided for us and the space was decorated very nicely. I absolutely hated having to leave to be honest. The drive to/from Asheville is about 15 minutes and is a very pretty and fun drive that I grew to appreciate more and more throughout the week. The outdoor area has a great view and proved to be a very relaxing place to have a cup of coffee, eat dinner, or make some smores over the fire pit. Ellie provided a very comfortable and convenient housing experience, and I'm sure we'll be staying with her again.

    Griffin2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie’s place was beautiful. The area was gorgeous with lots of surrounding farm land. The pictures and description were accurate and the decor in the basement apartment was super cute. The only hiccup which ended up being pretty big for us (we traveled by car and were on 36 hours no sleep with our daughter) was that when we shut all the lights off around 7:30/8, there was a loud chatter/eeeeek sound coming out of the chimney! It scared us! We thought it was a bat! We had to get back in the car to drive to cell service to call Ellie. Unfortunately, I called a few times but with no answer. We went back and packed our stuff, left and then got cell service again. Ellie ended up calling us back and when I told her what was happening she felt bad and assured us that there was no bat and it was actually a bird called a chimney Swift!!! They roost up top of the chimney but the noise bellows down and sounds like it’s in the chimney! We decided to go back and all was quite with the birds. We got a great nights sleep and off we went. The hardest part was having to drive back and forth to try to get cell service when we really needed to get in touch with our host.

    Emma2018-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie was great, she was easy to contact and made it easy for us. The space is huge great for the price. I would live there full time. Definitely unplugged. I could text from the driveway but overall was not bad. Would stay here again

We think our house is pretty special, but luckily you don't have to take our word for it, Architectural Digest recently chose it as the most beautiful Airbnb in North Carolina (Website hidden by Airbnb) Set in the serene and beautiful Riceville Valley, we are also just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville (or Black Mountain) and 5 to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The photos are better than any description we can give but the house is minimalist and modern while also being warm and inviting. Custom kitchen with concrete countertops, stunning views from every room.
Quiet and tranquil but close to town.
  • Had a great stay at John's place. Home was very nice and as described. Loved the beautiful mountain view. Was easy to get ubers into town and in general a good location to explore Asheville and surrounding areas.

    Aleise2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place was awesome! Great amenities with amazing views of the mountains and only 15 minutes from downtown. A great place to stay if you’ve coming to Asheville for a few days! Totally made the trip worth it!

  • This home is so unique and spacious, while having ideal views in every room—so well thought out and designed. We originally had a lot planned to do in Asheville, but ended up foregoing some of them to just soak up the home and views. John & Carla had a bottle of campaign waiting for us on arrival since we were there for NYE. Can't speak higher of the property and hosting—definitely will recommend & want to come back!

    Elizabeth2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I was blown away by this property and by all the help of John and Carla! My boyfriend and I come to Asheville to celebrate our anniversary every year, and this will definitely be our place to stay! Loved how unique and modern the space was - also loved that's it's tucked away but still close to everything. I will be telling everyone about this gem!

    Cassie2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Will put it on our return list to stay again, a beautiful modern home in a gorgeous natural setting without sacrificing the convince of Asheville's downtown.

    Robert2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for! My associate photographer and I went to Asheville for an inspirational work trip outside of Atlanta. The speedy internet was appreciated and mountain views were inspirational! Not to mention, the space has awesome amenities (especially the showers!). There was fresh ground coffee waiting for us, too! We loved every second and hope to go back!

    Christina2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The views are amazing and the house design and architecture is one of a kind. We had a great stay and enjoyed watching the eclipse.

EXPERIENCE FALL IN ASHEVILLE In early fall head to higher elevations above 5,000 feet. In mid-fall peak color lights up spots in the 3,000 to 4,000-foot range. In late fall, lower elevation spots at less than 2,000 feet are your best bet. BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY & MOUNTAINS FALL COLOR FORECAST (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Leaf peepers ask: “When is peak color?” The great news is that we usually have many weeks of autumn color in our mountains and foothills. Find the areas of best color by driving the Blue Ridge Parkway or other scenic roads up and down the ridges. Elevation is the biggest factor for time of color change. An early frost speeds up the color change and warm weather prolongs it. Below is our prediction. PEAK FOLIAGE COLOR TIMELINE (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) SEPTEMBER Last Week: 6,000+ feet elevation: Many high ridges like Mount Mitchell have spotty color, while these two lofty places along the Parkway usually have the most early color: Rough Ridge at Grandfather Mountain and Graveyard Fields. OCTOBER First Week: Above 5,000 feet elevation. The leaves in the highest mountains north of Asheville turn first, especially on the Parkway north of Craggy Gardens and Beech Mountain. South on the Parkway, head to Waterrock Knob and Black Balsam areas. Hike & picnic atop both Max Patch. OCTOBER Second Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. Best colors really pick up steam, including Mount Pisgah and Devil's Courthouse areas south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The mountains surrounding Waynesville and Cashiers peak, including Whiteside Mountain with the Shadow of the Bear. Also, see colorful highest ridges of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and drive the Cherohala Skyway. Camp at Lake Santeetlah. OCTOBER Third Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. The ultimate week for the most color including large sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This also includes much of Pisgah National Forest near Brevard. Drive the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway. Top hikes there include Looking Glass Rock or Cradle of Forestry. North of Asheville, best color will be Banner Elk and hikes to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain at Linville Gorge. West of Asheville, head to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Bryson City. OCTOBER Last Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. The city of Asheville, French Broad River and Biltmore Estate show their best color, along with many of our small towns including Sylva and Saluda. It's a great time for a waterfall hike in DuPont State Forest or a stroll at the NC Arboretum. Milepost 316.3 - Linville Falls: See one of the most photographed waterfalls in the eastern USA from five viewpoints along wooded hikes in Pisgah National Forest. Milepost 355.4 - Mt Mitchell: Drive to the top of the highest peak in the eastern USA and see the 360-degree views from the top. While color up top peaks early October, the views into the valley will be colorful through mid October. Milepost 364.4 - Craggy Gardens: See views from the Visitor Center, have a mile-high picnic and hike trails to the balds with spectacular views. Craggy Pinnacle has one of our favorite views along the Parkway. Milepost 382 - Folk Art Center: Stop here to see creations from hundreds of the best artists in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Watch artists at work, see several exhibitions and do some early Christmas shopping in their fabulous store. Milepost 407.6 - Mt Pisgah & Pisgah Inn: Expect big crowds here during October, with everyone vying for a window table at 5,000 feet elevation. Shop in their gallery, camp, picnic and hike to the top of Mt. Pisgah. Tip: Wait times for the restaurant often run an hour or more on busy days. Grab your pager first and then browse the gift shop or enjoy the views from their outdoor deck. Milepost 417 - Looking Glass Rock Overlook: See the iconic stone face, along with many mountain ridges. From the overlook, hike just a half mile to Skinny Dip Falls' idyllic setting with multiple cascades. Milepost 418.8 - Graveyard Fields: This super popular hiking spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway usually has the most brilliant and earliest fall colors (first week in October). Take short hike to gorgeous Lower Falls or hike through the mile-high meadow. Milepost 420.2, Black Balsam Knob Hike: This local's favorite trail across multiple balds is one of most spectacular hikes in the North Carolina mountains. Expect many people here, so arrive early or visit midweek for smaller crowds. It's an epic picnic and camping spot.
Homeland Park is a neighborhood built as a resort community of about 70 close by log cabins during the 1930s. It offers handcrafted log cabins and cottages each with unique and special characteristics still present, reminding visitors that this uncommon place is indeed one of Asheville’s treasures. These cabins hold fast to their heritage of a time gone by. This area will charm as you meander through its tree lined streets of oaks and dogwoods, listening to the song birds. Today it is a terrific rental destination or temporary home while relocating. Everything is easy access.
  • We had a great experience. The sleep number bed was a big highlight for us! The hosts were super friendly and thorough. Would stay there again in a minute.

    Margaret2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lori and Lizzie were wonderful hosts. Lori met me at the cabin when I arrived and explained the beautiful cabin. They were always responsive to questions or concerns. The cabin is heavenly: you feel as though you're in a treehouse. The cabin has both creature comforts and aesthetic appeal. I felt so comfortable and at home there. It is someplace you want to retreat to--perfect after a day in town or hiking on the Blue Ridge. I didn't want to leave!

    Mary2015-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin, Lori did a very good job making sure we felt at home. Checking in was very easy so we were able to get settled right away. Lori made a delicious rum cake for us and provided several local beers that we loved. The cabin itself is in great condition and was even decorated for the holidays which was a nice touch. It's only about 10 minutes from downtown so we were easily able to get a uber so that we could explore Asheville. Overall it was a great visit and I would highly recommend the cabin.

    Joe2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was spacious and had everything that we needed. The hostesses are attentive to details. Everything in the cabin was clean and everything worked. This is a very good location for hikers. It is a mile or so from trail-heads in the Blue Ridge Mtns.

    Lawrence2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is the perfect size for a couple's weekend getaway. It is cozy, yet has all the amenities you need. The location is convenient, and the hosts were so helpful. We loved that Lori had a "Things to do in Asheville" box and binder that helped us make decisions about what to do with our time in town. The homemade rum cake was such a thoughtful treat that kicked off our wonderful weekend in this cabin.

    Lauren2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I loved how Lori met us at the house upon our arrival, showed us around the cabin, and left little treats for us! It really took away the anxiety of being in a city for the first time!

    Megan2015-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this place. It was our first Airbnb experience and nothing could have made it better! Great location yet very private. Having access to the washer and dryer was an added bonus that I just loved. Well stocked kitchen too. I was concerned before we got there that the shower looked small in the pictures. A great (Website hidden by Airbnb) was a very nice size.

    Lori2015-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Lori and Lizzie's cabin was a wonderful experience. It is a beautiful wooded location surrounded by tall mature trees. The cabin is very well stocked and appointed, and clean, spacious and comfortable. Usually after staying somewhere, I can think of few suggestions of how to improve the experience, but I can't think of anything here, as the owners have obviously put considerable thought into creating a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. The welcome by Lori and Lizzie with a homemade delicious rum cake and local craft beers, and background on the history of the cabin and things to do in Asheville was very nice and a great start to our stay. The location in east Asheville, while not right in the heart of the action, has plenty of convenient shopping/restaurants very close by, is an easy quick drive to downtown or the restaurants in West Asheville. I highly recommend staying here!

This cozy room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. Walkable to Downtown and the River Arts District. Very close to the Biltmore Estate and West Asheville. Easy parking. People of Color & white people welcome; LGBTQ & straight friendly. Dogs too, but not on the bed. (Read our pet policy below!)
Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you? We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome. Our home is an urban micro-farm in the making and a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. (We’ve prioritize cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn). We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • We stayed two nights and had a great time. Michelle was very friendly and gave us some great restaurant suggestions. The room was private, clean, comfy and very close to downtown. Highly recommend.

    Nova2013-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Location was very convenient, 15-minute walk from downtown. Room and bathroom in basement, so a bit moist and buggy. Michelle was very nice and friendly and offered great suggestions for things to do around Asheville.

    Gabrielle2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Asheville over Valentine's weekend and Michelle's place was perfect. Her place was a five minute drive from downtown Asheville, great bedroom and bathroom space, and had such great, helpful information about the city! Michelle happened to be out of town, but was very attentive to our needs via text and we felt well taken care of! We will certainly be staying with her our next visit to Asheville!

    Joel2015-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! Even though we didn't meet Michelle until we checked out, it was very easy to access the room, given Michelle's attentiveness via messaging on the day we arrived. It was a very comfortable and seamless visit, with great breakfast recommendations. Thank you!

    Ryeon2015-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a gracious and helpful host. Asheville can be a difficult town to navigate, so we really appreciated all the brochures she had available for us. The room is small and has no TV. We were able to stream what we wanted using WiFi. The fridge was a great help in keeping our costs manageable. The room has its own ground level entrance, so there were no stairs to conquer--an important consideration for us. I highly recommend this place.

    Joan2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's place is cozy, clean, and in a great location. We were able to get everywhere in just a few minutes drive. We would definitely stay here again when we're back in Asheville!

    Kristin2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We got what we paid for.

    Graham2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's house was very close to downtown and that was nice. We toured the Biltmore Estates and breweries. Ashville was great and hope to be back soon!

  • Nice, stylish place in a great location! Brett was super accommodating and provided us with an awesome list of recommendations and helpful tips.

    Gabrielle2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect AirBNB; all the convenience of home (coffee pot, fridge, etc) and about a 15 minute walk to downtown dining, shopping, and amenities. My mom and I walked from downtown to the AirBNB late at night and felt very safe. The space also provided recommendations for dinner/drinks, making it very easy to plan our destinations in Asheville. I highly recommend this place.

    Heather2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location and great spot for DT Asheville. Clean place and exactly as described.

    Nathan2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute, clean and great location! Brett was easy to communicate with and we had a great stay!

    Sonja2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect spot to stay in Asheville regardless of what kind of trip you're planning. The location is SPOT ON - you're a five minute walk from all the excellent restaurants and music venues of downtown if that's what you like, but if all you wanted to do was sit on the porch (with the ubiquitous neighborhood cat) and drink one of the local brews from the fridge you'd be equally well accommodated as Brett has created a comfortable, quiet space that makes it hard to leave. We really enjoyed the thoughtfulness with which the inside of the studio had been prepared - we had all that we needed even down to half-and-half in the fridge to go with our morning coffee! Brett has compiled an exhaustive list of recommendations for the area and we eagerly consulted it each night before heading out to dinner. Our only regret is that we were in town for a lecture series and didn't get to take advantage of any of the nearby hikes (which simply means we'll have to come back). Brett - thank you so much - your beautiful space made a work trip feel more like an enjoyable weekend away!

    Ashlyn2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brett’s place is within walking distance to EVERYTHING! And to top it off, the bed there was incredible. A little pricey BUT I promise it’s worth it.

Quiet, country setting nestled in the forest. We do have neighbors nearby, but it is heavily wooded so it still feels private. Walking distance to a new micro brewery, ice cream shop, grocery store and the local library.
  • We had a great time at the birdhouse! It is just as cute in person as it is in pictures. All the feels of a tiny home with a lot of space. We had a great breakfast of eggs from the house as well. Would recommend to all!

  • Camille was an absolutely awesome host! The cottage was just as pictured, and the location can't be beat. It felt like we were only 10 minutes or less away from everything (by car) which is nice if you've never been to Asheville and want to cram in as much as possible during a short visit :)

  • A cozy cottage nestled in a quiet but growing neighborhood. A lovely place from which to venture out on the town, or for a peaceful retreat.

  • Camille's Mermaid Cottage was a true gem. It's so unique, beautiful and comfortable... better than I imagined from the photos. The location was perfect in a lovely quiet neighborhood of Asheville. I had a wonderful 5 day stay with my dog and would definitely visit again.

    Jill2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really unique, nice place. Quiet, and calming. Camille was an excellent host— easy to contact, and available but gave us space.

    Jl2016-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was very nice! She greeted us right after we arrived and showed us the ropes--we basically didn't see her after that. She left a few things for us to use/enjoy on our stay and some notes about the house and neighborhood. The cottage was adorable and interesting and exactly as described. We loved the neighborhood and walked to some great restaurants, coffee shops and parks. We had a great time!

    Libby2015-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was out of town on vacation while we stayed at the mermaid cottage but she had warned us about this before hand. Her mother and daughter were there to help us with any questions we had. We didn't have any questions other than how to turn on the air-conditioner. The mermaid cottage was a very nice place to stay. Camille built it from the ground up and every inch of it was custom designed. It was really neat. It was like a tiny house of art.

    Steven2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We love this place. Camille really pays attention to the details and you can see it in her home. The house is so close to the DT area too. Just a short $8 user ride. But far enough that you don't get the noise. There are also many places within a walk of only a mile or so. We always try to rent this home when we are in town.

    Jeff2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! We spent a whole week here for our honeymoon and it was our first airbnb experience. I think any place after this will be a disappointment. Camille and Willy were so friendly; they had great suggestions and we enjoyed getting to spend some time with them.

Surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built apartment is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and colorful with unique custom woodwork and big windows and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here
The studio has high vaulted ceilings that give it a spacious feeling and the floor is hardwood with colorful rugs throughout. The bathroom is tiny but has a claw foot bathtub with a shower attachment, marble tile, and unlimited hot water. In the kitchen you'll find a 2 burner cookstove, a toaster oven, all the basic kitchen stuff you will need to make your meals, and a smallish round table to eat them at. Beautifully crafted walnut, maple, hemlock, and poplar decorate every possible corner of every room, giving the space a very unique and natural elegance.
The nearest neighbors are all young homesteader types with amazing skills and stories, but you wont see or hear them from the property. You will hear lots from the non-human neighbors though. This lush forest is filled with the songs of rare birds, owls, crickets, and treefrogs with the only light pollution coming from the moon, stars, and fireflys.
  • Wooden place deep in the forest nicely self contained

    Steve2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is a quant, cabin-esque feel. Beautiful location in the woods. Alexander was a great host and responded very quickly to any and all questions. Bathroom was a little tight, but met all of our needs! Would recommend!

  • A lovely little cabin in a beautiful scenic area. You definitely feel tucked away in a little sanctuary when staying here. Getting into town isn’t too far away either. I took a walk around on the first day and all the surrounding neighbors were so sweet and willing to guide me to the best waterfalls and hikes. It was the perfect spot to disconnect from my busy world and recharge in gorgeous nature.

  • It was a great spot for privacy up in the mountains.

  • This little studio is a great destination for a weekend Asheville getaway. Although it is 20 minutes from Asheville, it's off the beaten path, quiet, and the nighttime noises make for a calming sleep. I would highly recommend this Airbnb for anyone interested in visiting Asheville.

  • Charming tiny-house feel in a beautiful, wooded setting.

    Ashley2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it. Very secluded and quiet.

    Daniel2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This space is great, think it was better in person than my thoughts after seeing the pictures. Alexander was out of town but if you happen to have Savannah as your host/house sitter she is lovely and provided the privacy I preferred. I would say it has more of a cabin feel than a tiny house feel but get that vibe as well. Very comfortable and the surrounding were so peaceful, wish I stayed longer!

Beautiful custom built space!! Tastefully decorated, first class accommodations on the mountain overlooking Asheville. THOROUGHLY cleaned between each guest, leaving the space feeling fresh and inviting. Exposed rock wall opposite original outside wall; just a couple of the details that give this listing a unique and comfortable feel. Beautiful mountain views above with city lights below. This charming space is a short five minutes and $5 Uber ride from downtown Asheville yet feels worlds away.
Beautiful customized studio with wood slab bathroom vanity and office space, a unique rock wall and original outside wood wall. Creative touches throughout the space. Both charming and classy. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home, including a beautiful customized concrete countertop. It is equipped with a small refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker (coffee and creamer also provided). Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku and mounted flat screen TV. What else could you need?! :) Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance. Beautiful French doors let in lots of light and allow guests to enjoy the fresh air on nice days. Outside space with table and chairs for guests to relax the day away. Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants downtown. Porch swing and other outside seating. Beautiful fire pit area available for guest use. Suitable for two adults; children are welcome as well although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements. This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) The apartments share a laundry room space but locked doors keep each space totally private. There is a perfect opportunity here to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
I like to think I live on Asheville's best kept secret! It's quiet, has beautiful views and is close to everything. Depending on which way you go down the mountain you are truly not far from wherever you're headed. You can be downtown in minutes to enjoy all the excitement Asheville has to offer and then retire home in the evening for a quiet peaceful night. You also have easy access to 240 to get to your next hike. I wouldn't want to call anywhere else home!
  • Excellent stay off the beaten path in Asheville. Feels like your own place even with owner living above. Clean and comfortable. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Wife and I decided to take a quick trip with our fur kids to Asheville. Dorothy's place is exactly as described. The place was nicely decorated, clean, and had everything we could think of. Even had some board games in the room for quiet nights in! Would highly recommend this place.

  • This place is very clean and updated. All the photos posted are accurate and the host is great. Last time we came to Asheville we stayed at a hotel, but will definitely book this place again in the future. Can't beat the price for the area. Close to downtown too.

The Neighborhood Located in a safe, quiet, wooded neighborhood that is perfect for walking. Hiking trails on property with occasional visits from foxes, bears, and turkeys. Getting Around Public transit access & less than 2 miles from Downtown Asheville and Biltmore Village.
Our Modern Mountain Getaway is located in the heart of Asheville. Surrounded by woods and nestled between hills, our quiet street is the best of city living. Near enough, but far enough, to enjoy the city and the mountains. The apartment is below our home and has a private rear patio entrance. There is a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We've stocked it with snack bars and coffee pods. It's a cozy space ready to refresh you for a busy day of hiking or exploring downtown's dining scene, breweries and buskers. Too much fun!
Our neighborhood is located just south of downtown less than 2 miles away. It is quiet and wooded with wildlife coexisting. Look for songbirds, turkey, fox and bear! You might hear a train whistle as it travels through Biltmore Village. We are less than a mile away from the Biltmore Estate entrance. Get here now!
  • This was our first time staying at an Airbnb and we loved everything about it! Angela was so welcoming and friendly throughout the weekend. She provided us with recommendations on places to go and some of her favorite restaurants. The location and size was PERFECT; super close to downtown and easy to navigate through the area. You really do get the mountain feel while staying right outside all the business of the downtown area. Things we were really impressed with: showerhead is aaaamazing, snacks and coffee stocked, location, affordable stay, and all the helpful info about Asheville. Highly recommend staying with Angela! We will be back, no doubt (:

    Emily2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a downstairs, self-contained apartment backed up to the woods in a quiet neighborhood. Angela and Robert gave us a nice welcome and offered some suggestions for local activities. Space was clean and stylishly decorated. A very pleasant time in Asheville!

    Mark2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Angela's. In addition to being both conveniently located to downtown and scenic, the space was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed, including extras like coffee and chocolates! Angela was very helpful during check-in and in providing recommendations. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway!

    Anna2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend is hard to please and usually very concerned with organization so she had high hesitation in us getting an place for our trip to Asheville that she would be comfortable with. Coming upon Angela's place online we shot over some questions and received a response a lot sooner than expected. So, overall the experience started off good and ended far better than expected, especially regarding my picky girlfriend. Angela's place is not only clean, but cozy, homey, modern, and very convenient. I appreciated that within our initial communication she made clear that she would give us as much or as little space as was our preference, we periodically kept in touch with her to get suggestions for dining and activities. The location is about a 5 to 7 dollar Uber to the best brew spots. There are large curtains on the windows and it is at the bottom of a hill so we were able to sleep without the sun waking us. Again, we were pleased to see that it looked better than the pictures. And it without a doubt passed the asthetic and comfort test from my girlfriend. Plus lots of clean towels, breakfast snacks, mini fridge, and a handful of DVDs to occupy the downtime. We will be back to Asheville and book again with this home away from home.

    Scott2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • With an endless choice of basement dwellings on airbnb for Asheville, NC it was difficult decision- but Angela's was the right choice! The apartment is very clean, with high ceilings, modern touches, and plentiful lighting. Bedroom is separate from main sitting area and features a very comfortable queen bed. The bath has a wonderful shower head with great pressure and plenty of hot water. Keurig is provided with a variety of K-cups, along with water filter, and snack bars. Overall, we really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would recommend to anyone looking for quiet and cozy retreat ( and not too far from downtown ).

    Justin2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great first visit to Asheville and could not have asked for a better place to crash at the end of our busy days out and about! The apartment was cozy and beautiful and had everything we needed for our weekend in the city!

    Sara2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Angela is a lovely person, she provided a number of dining and hiking tips for us. We only saw her when we checked in, but were able to text questions. The room was very clean and comfortable. It's a great neighborhood. There was some train noise one morning, but nothing constant.

    Danny2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot in a quaint neighborhood. There’s even a trail in the backyard! One of the best parts was that it was a quick trip to downtown asheville.

Enjoy the privacy of your own space in a beautiful country setting less then 10 miles from the heart of downtown Asheville. Walk out the door and within minutes enjoy the 35 miles of manacured trails on Warren Wilson Collages 2,000 plus acre campus. My photos are all of the same space. Before and After upgrades.
Studio Apartment privately located on our beautiful 1 acre property. 500 sq foot studio has full bath and kitchen, queen bed and queen sofa bed with memory foam topper. Table for two to eat comfortably, additional chairs available for larger parties. Inspired by my time living in Taos, enjoy the warm pallet provided by wall to wall saltillo tile. PLUS we're really fun people!! I have two kids 18 and 15, as a family we love hiking adventurously, camping and traveling as much as possible. I have lived in Asheville off and on for over 20 years and as a family we have called Asheville our home for over 18 years.
COUNTRY! Although it's a quick jot into downtown Asheville our property is very much in a rural setting. Beautiful mountain views and total privacy. Convient 5 minute drive to a large grocery, drug store, fabulous food and Blue Ridge Parkway access. If you are visiting Warren Wilson Collage we are only 1 mile by car or 20 min on manicured trails. Surrounded by natural beauty~~We love calling the Swannanoa and Riceville Valley home.
  • The description was accurate. Modern, pleasant space. It does look like A/C has been added although we didn't need it during our stay. The road to the apartment is a bit rough but we had no difficulties. The ride to and from Asheville is quite scenic. We had no phone service (we use AT&T) but there was WiFi. A good value and we would recommend.

  • This was the perfect little apartment for my weekend visit to Asheville. It looks just like the picture and was super clean and very quiet. If you want to come back to the apartment more than once during the day, you might want to opt for a place closer to downtown. But if you are looking for a quiet respite this is ideal. Due to our schedules I never actually met Tara, but she responded to texts and emails quickly. Communication was never an issue. I would stay here again.

    Faith (& George)2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Tara and Stan's place. It was very cozy and comfortable. I would stay there again.

  • Very nice apartment located in a remote part of Asheville. Everything felt private and comforting and the host was very helpful and responsive. Would definitely rent again if I am in the area! It was about a 15 minute drive into town, so would need to have a car if looking to spend time in downtown Asheville.

    Georgina2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tara and I crossed paths upon arriving. The exchange was welcoming and she assisted me in getting my extra frozen item into her house freezer. The apartment is separate from the house with plenty of privacy. It is simply and comfortably furnished with plenty of open space. Wi-Fi was accessible when needed. It had kitchen basics which afforded me cooked meals, something I seek out. I liked the greenery surrounding it.

    Joannie2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tara's place was light, clean and fresh with a comfortable bed and beautiful linens. Everything that we needed was provided and we found a new coffee maker, microwave; and dishes, stove and refrigerator to meet our needs for making breakfast and preparing lunches to take on our hikes. The country setting was perfect for relaxing and breathing the fresh air, and the drive to Asheville was easy within 15 minutes. Tara was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Excellent host.

    connie 2015-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tara made sure the place was spick and span even on a tight schedule. The place is very comfy and charming. We would love staying here again.

    Rajat2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • My girl friend and I stayed here for a few days to experience Asheville. It was a quaint little apartment. When we entered it smelled of eucalyptus, a calming essential oil. There is a beautiful field right outside the door that has wild flowers growing. Tara kept in very good contact with me throughout the stay. Everything was very clean and unmistakably clutter free. This helped because everything had it's own place. The bed is super comfy with soft sheets. Everything is very modern and very IKEA - which is lovely. The air conditioner works extremely well to cool the apartment and even comes with a bedside remote. All the cleaning products available in the apartment are natural. Most are Mrs.Meyer's. Of course things are subject to change but when we were there there were lotions, shampoos, and conditioners available for use which I thought was really nice. There is also amazing smelling coffee although neither of us had any of it. There are several different lamps and lights, one even with a dimmer, to give you a more relaxed stay. The shower even has a seat in it to accommodate for those who need it. The kitchen sink is pretty big, nothing short of enough room to wash the occasional dish. Overall, the space is beautiful and it has a good bit of natural light from the windows. Feels like a little bungalow in the woods.

  • Brett's place was perfect. You can't beat the location - a relaxing 5-10 minute walk to downtown. The entire room and bathroom were perfectly clean and there were lots of thoughtful touches added to the room.

    Analisa2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Brett's spot. We got a little confused with which door to go in, but he was quick to answer and we would have been fine if we had read the email more closely! We walked downtown from the apartment and it was a safe walk, about 10-15 minutes. He also had a beer, some chocolate, a water bottle, and coffee for us! It was a great stay!

    Ashley2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is the perfect place to stay and explore Asheville! It feels very quiet and secluded, but is only about a 15 minute walk to anywhere you want to go downtown. The room is small but was perfect for a couple and had everything we needed (and a very comfortable bed). Brett was also extremely helpful and provided great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We would definitely stay here again!

    Sara2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Small room but great location. Was perfect for what we needed.

    Nicole2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brett’s place was awesome! Well equipped with all of the amenities we needed and then some. Awesome location as well. He was very easy to communicate with and responded promptly to my messages. We went to one of his breakfast spot suggestions and it did not disappoint! Would definitely recommend to friends.

    Amy2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space! The perfect size for just a night or two stays for a couple. Was perfect walking distance to downtown (~5 minutes) which was great.

    Shaina2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay for Asheville! Super close to downtown and great restaurants. Use Brett’s recommendations! So many little details, even had fresh flowers and coffee!

    Trista2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a quaint place close to downtown to be able to rest your head at night, this is definitely a good spot for you. The home is more like a small studio apartment separated from the rest of the house by a door, so if you plan to spend lengthy amounts of time where you are staying, this might not be the most comfortable option; however it suited our needs just fine as we were only in town a couple days. Walking distance to downtown Asheville is a plus. Brett also provides plenty of recommendations for things to do during your stay! Would stay here again.

The Ora Street Church of God, located between The River Arts District, The South Slope Brewery District, and only 1 mile from Biltmore Estate was built in the 1920s and thrived for over 80 years before being converted into our home. Enjoy a short walk to restaurants, breweries, art galleries and music. The upstairs of our home, formerly the pastor's study, is now your personal master suite. We invite you to stay in our church house, one of the most unique and charming Airbnbs in Asheville.
Our guest are given access to the more private back door which allows direct access to the stairwell leading up to the master suite. The back door is accessed via our newly remodeled back deck where there is a hot tub and stone fireplace for guests to use. This outdoor space is kept under video surveillance for our safety and for that of our guests as well. This entryway will open into a stairwell where guests will be met with a private minibar and beer for their enjoyment. The stairs from this area will lead you to our newly remodeled master suite which once operated as the pastor's study. Here our guests will find a luxurious queen bed with his and hers LED reading lamps, mini-fridge, stocked coffee cart, seating area and a private bath.
Our particular location is very unique as it is only a few hundred yards from the River Arts District and is situated only 3/4 of a mile from the South Slope Brewery District AND only 1 mile from the entrance of the Biltmore Estate. Places such as The Wedge Brewery, The Junction, Fresh Pizza, All Souls Pizza, Grey Eagle Music Hall, Penny Cup Coffee, Ultra Coffee and Cafe, plus hundreds of art studios are less then a 10 min walk away or use the bikes we have provided and be there in no time. New Belgium Brewery is just across the river at just a 15 min walk or 8 min bike ride. In the other direction you can find Burial Brewing, The Funkatorium, Twin Leaf Brewery, Greenman Brewing, Hi-Wire Brewing, Catawba Brewing, Buxton Hall BBQ, and a soon to open Gin Distillery all within a 15 min walk from our doorstep or a 3 min uber ride. Since you can't walk onto the Biltmore Estate property you would need to drive but it will only take you about 5 minutes to get there from our front door!
  • David and Shawn's place was a great spot for exploring the parts of Asheville we hadn't seen yet. We took great long walks around the surrounding neighborhoods, where there's lots of breweries, restaurants, shops, breweries, street art, and did I mention breweries?? The place itself was cozy and we appreciated the polite puppy greeting every time we arrived--it's an amenity in itself. Thanks for the hospitality! I highly recommend this home.

    Jessi2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very nicely-designed, comfortable space. A beer in the hot tub was a wonderful way to end each day!

  • This spot is amazing! Super cozy and private but completely stocked with anything you might need! Easy access to Biltmore and Downtown.

    Eric2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This home is truly amazing! What you see if what you get, which is wonderful! David and Shawn were great host and wanted to make sure our experience was what we wanted. This home has everything that you might want or need when you are staying away from your home! The location is ideal to walk around and it's a quick Uber trip if you don't want to walk home at the end of the night! Most restaurants are within a mile or two of this home. We hope to come back very soon!

  • David and Shawn’s “church house” is in a neighborhood near the River Arts District (RAD). The neighborhood itself is old, and the other houses are a bit dilapidated, but don’t let that fool you. Just like the rest of Asheville, the absolute best places are found in spots that may not necessarily look the way you think they should. The church house looks simple enough on the exterior, but the interior has been fully renovated, keeping the church motif. The house is decorated with old church fixtures such as pews and an intricate bible stand, and also features modern amenities, such as stainless steel appliances. We stayed at Christmas time, and there was a beautiful, twelve-foot Christmas tree standing in the living room/sanctuary. The room you’ll be staying in has its own entry at the back of the building, with an interior stairway leading to the old pastors quarters. We absolutely loved the way David and Shawn decorated the place, and the bed was super-comfortable. Every time we came or went, David and Shawn’s dog Owen was there to meet us. He was the perfect greeter, and having a dog in the house made us feel safer at night. We were happy to give him lots of back scratches and head rubbings. We drove ourselves for the first couple of days, but it didn’t take us long to figure out that there were Uber and Lyft drivers handy pretty much round the clock. If you get a chance, hit up Nine Mile for some Jamaican food, Urban Orchard for some hard cider, and Grail Movie House for a date night movie. They’re all just a couple of minutes away. Overall, our stay was fantastic. David and Shawn have really gone out of their way to make their home beautiful and inviting, and had some excellent food and attraction recommendations for us. This listing is well worth the price tag.

  • We had an amazing stay at David and Shawn's! Beautiful neighborhood, walking distance from the river arts district and absolutely gorgeous home! They were so thoughtful in how they decorated and prepared the room: extra toiletries, guide to the city with their favorite spots and adorable coffee cart. Wish we had more time to spend in Asheville and enjoy their home!

Rita's large home is warm and welcoming. There is a casual, friendly atmosphere where you are free to relax on the front porch, chat with Rita and her guests in the kitchen, or soak up some sun on the deck by the garden. The gold room is small but clean and nicely decorated. Built-in cabinets and book shelves make the room seem spacious. Rita's home is in a great location, just a few short blocks from downtown. We hope to return on our next trip to Asheville.
