Just booked in Asheville

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • It's always a relief when an Airbnb reservation lives up to your expectations. Heather's place did that and beyond. It was immaculate upon arrival, exactly as pictured. The place is located deep within a quaint riverside neighborhood where you'll hear birds chirping and water trickling. We could have sat in the hammock for the whole trip, it was so peaceful. The place is a 10-15 minute drive to downtown and a 30 min-1 hr drive to all of the hikes we did, which was great. Heather's recommendations for food, hikes and beer were all spot on. We love Asheville, and when we return we'll definitely check first to see if Heather's place is available!

  • We really liked this little place. It was perfect for the two of us. Quite, relaxing, but accessible to downtown Ashville. Highly recommend this place.

  • The treehouse studio was wonderful. It was beautiful, scenic, and cozy. It was conveniently located just 10 minutes from downtown. Heather was kind and helpful, and even let us take home a yummy rosemary salt she made herself! Would totally stay here again.

    Alison2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse Studio is very nice! Super clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. There is plenty of space inside the studio and the outdoor living space was very pleasant. Heather even left us some complimentary spice mixes of hers to sample :) Not too far from downtown in a safe neighborhood. Would love to stay again!

  • We really enjoyed both the town and the studio. Everything was as described and the host was very accommodating! We used her recommendations for food multiple times and we're not disappointed.

  • We loved our 4 night stay at the Riverbend studio! It was just far enough outside of Asheville to feel quiet and peaceful, but also a short drive into the city or anything else we wanted to go do. Heather was the perfect host-the studio was stocked with everything we could have wanted or needed and was always available for questions and recommendations. Everything was clean and comfortable! We would definitely recommend this place for your stay in Asheville!

    Megan2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was kind, social, and very helpful. Once we got there she was there to show us the place, and man the place was perfect. Loved the setting and look. The jacuzzi was awesome. I also got a chance to check out Asheville, and heather gave us such awesome spots to see. Honestly one of the best trips in while. We had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV with netflix, and board games. We really enjoyed her book of places to check out in Asheville, and her suggestions were on point. We would definitely visit again and stay at the 'Treehouse'! Thanks Heather!

  • Heather responded immediately to my query and was super informative and helpful. The place was clean with a somewhat masculine aesthetic (painted concrete floors and a blue brick wall). The directions were great. We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The proximity to downtown can't be beat if that is what you are after. The studio itself was lovely but not at all what we were looking for. I feel the onus here is on Airbnb rather than Heather. We were looking for a house with a hot tub near Waynesville or Weaverville and we used those specific filters in our Airbnb search. Our search turned up the Riverbend Treehouse outside of Asheville with a cover photo of the river. The search filters I was using, combined with the photos posted, led us to believe we had landed a country house on the river with a hot tub for two to conclude our anniversary vacation in the mountains. The description seemed to confirm that but perhaps we did not read closely enough. We were traveling and tired. The ad does say the river is accessible via a short walk and is across the street. However, while the river is across the street it is mostly hidden behind the neighbor' s houses and accessing it for a dip or walk without trespassing did not seem possible. This really is a fantastic place if you are looking for a bottom-floor studio apartment (in a neighborhood) with an indoor jacuzzi bathtub that is super close to downtown Asheville. We were just looking for something completely different and felt led astray.

Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • Before our arrival, Cristina and Hal promptly responded to my emails regarding our check-in plans. Our hosts made us feel welcome by greeting us with warm smiles when we arrived to Nature Lover's Retreat. They gave us a tour of the home and showed us where everything we needed could be found. The rooms were cheerful, well kept, clean, and neat. Everything was arranged just so to provide a warm, welcoming space. Cristina and Hal gave us excellent recommendations for places to hike, visit, and eat based on the preferences we shared.

  • Pleasant hosts and a fantastic experience. The unit was very clean, modern and had everything we needed. It is very close to downtown (5 minute drive).

    Shawn2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cristina and Hal's was just perfect for our weekend trip. Easy 10 min ride to downtown and only 5min to great restaurants in W. Asheville. Everything was provided (towels, soap, kitchen supplies) and they were flexible with arrival and departure times. Definitely a great find in the area! Also so friendly and easy communication!

This spot was a 5-10 minute drive to practically anywhere in downtown and we loved having a quiet and secluded place to come home to at night. Check-in and check-out couldn't have been easier and we would definitely return next time we're in Asheville!

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • My boyfriend I had an incredible time at Sparkle Bark! Everyone was extraordinarily friendly and accommodating and made staying there so comfortable. We also loved the small aesthetic touches that made everything charming--freshly picked flowers and the drawings in the composting toilet were particular favorites of ours. I am very grateful for the recommendations of what to do and where to eat--all recommendations given to us were excellent. I can't say enough positive things about our stay there and I can't wait to return.

    Christy2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved glamping at Sparklebark! It was quiet, yet close enough to all that you may need. Lyft will even take you into Asheville for less than $15! We didn’t run into our hosts, but that’s okay because they left us everything that we might need, and their adorable kitty made for a great stand in host. We will definitely come back if the opportunity arises!

    Sunny2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property with extraordinary views of nature and surrounding mountains. Wonderful hosts and fantastic property. A relaxing getaway on the verge of camping in a luxurious homey setting. Great recommendations and accommodations. Will be back!

    Chadwick2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark truly is a beautiful place! The cabin we stayed at was cozy, had beautiful details, and a comfy bed. The view is one not to miss! We really enjoyed walking around the grounds and could tell we were surrounded by a place built with love. We had so much fun with the bathrooms and Sparklebark was close enough to everything when we wanted to go exploring. They were so helpful with recommendations and everything they suggested you couldn't go wrong with. We hope to get an opportunity to come back one day!!

    Danielle2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • There was a lot of attention to detail at Sparklebark. I loved the fire pit and the seclusion that the property offered. It's really nice waking up to the sun in the room, and everything was very clean. Not far at all from downtown Asheville.

    Kaila2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark is the perfect getaway for the minimalist nature lover. The room was well crafted and so romantic with a gorgeous mountain view! The hosts were kind and helpful. The location is perfect because it's private, yet so near town and great hiking spots.

    Lyndsey2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place with high expectations, and they were all met. I was able to stay here with my best friend the night before his wedding as a sort of “getaway” from all the wedding jitters. It’s a very intimate place to stay. Our favorite part about it were the curtains that flowed with the wind as well as waking up to the sound of birds as you watched the sunrise. 10/10 will come back.

    Thomas2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house in the trees. The upper half of three sides of the house were screened so we could see, hear and smell all the local plants and birdlife. Felt like were in the middle of nature and slept soundly to the sound of rain! Definately a glamping experience.

  • David and Melissa's Urban Oasis in West Asheville was a great spot for our long weekend. The place is very easy to find, the hosts are extremely professional and communicative, and the location is excellent. You are within walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants and shops in West Asheville and a few minutes from dozens of breweries scattered about the River Arts District, South Slope, and Downtown. The Urban Oasis is 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway for great hiking. The apartment is stocked with anything you could want for an extended stay including a full kitchen and other amenities. The only downside is that it's close to the I-240, which doesn't make for the most serene setting while outdoors (realistically you aren't there much anyways!) on the porch.

    Justin2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa's Urban Oasis was a great place stay at the tail end of our trip to Asheville. The apartment is in great area in West Asheville, within walking distance to a bunch of great places to eat and drink. If you're looking for a welcoming home in a really great neighborhood then look no further.

    Jarett2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was clean, well maintained and decorated. All the amenities were in good working order and it was quite comfortable. The hosts gave great instructions and of course the hot tub was very relaxing. There are upstairs tenants and you can hear them occasionally, but they are not loud.

  • The Urban Oasis was a great place to call home for a few days in West Asheville. The apartment was clean and well appointed. The hot tub overlooking the backyard and wooded area behind the house was a nice touch. There are several bars and restaurants as well as shops and artists' studios within walking distance and it's a short drive or Uber ride to downtown.

    Elliot2015-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • First off the hosts hooked us up with a last minute reservation. Then when we arrived they had a surprise bottle of wine for us since we had just gotten married and this was our first stop. Also it was right of the interstate so it was super easy to get to, but you couldn't hear the interstate traffic. There was a handy book when you come in that has all info you need. The "Urban Oasis" was beautiful and not only met our expectations but exceeded them. Great hosts, great place, great location! Thanks guys!

    Tim2015-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • David and Melissa were very responsive. The Urban Oasis was clean, comfortable, homey, and exactly as advertised. We also really enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking.

    Mark2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cool location and great accommodations! David and Melissa checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and even provided a special Holiday surprise!

  • Lovely and cozy stay in NC; We loved opening the garage door to take in the view. Haley provided an awesome book of suggestions on places to hike/swim/drink/eat/pretty much anything you'd like to do in the area. We really enjoyed several of the hikes in the area. Thanks for being a great host!

    Jarrod2018-02-18T00:00:00Z

  • Very special spot

    Nat2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Drivable distance to ashville, and far in the mountains to feel secluded and private. Stayed right at the top of the mountain and the view was beautiful. A few bugs but it's something to expect, the cabin was well kept and clean. Came durring November so it got cold, but the sun came up and warmed the cabin easily. Also had a gas powered heater that worked very well, and the outdoor shower's hot water heater also worked very well. We can't wait to come back again.

    Dotty2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • I chose this cabin for our getaway celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We can't stop talking about this trip - more specifically, how we didn't even have to leave the bed to feel adventure. Incredible place with a gorgeous view!!! We were so satisfied just laying in bed with some snacks and watching the clouds float across the mountain tops. Thru cold, rain, and hail the cabin heater kept us comfortable! The outdoor shower was cool - we are looking forward to trying it out again when the weather is just a little warmer. ;) We can't wait to go back!!!

    Taylor2018-04-17T00:00:00Z

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • Julia's eco-cottage is very comfortable and is in a beautiful spot. It's about 10 minutes from downtown, out in the mountains. Julia is easy-going and friendly, while still giving you your privacy and space. She had some great suggestions for nearby hikes. We took the hike up to a lookout over the valley near her house. It was a great, brisk hike, and our dog could walk off-leash, which was super fun. The studio has a couch, a TV set up with Roku and whatnot (although we never watched it, we were too busy enjoying our surroundings and exploring Asheville), and wi-fi. It has a kitchenette, though we didn't use that either because there are so many incredible restaurants in Asheville, we basically ate our way through the city. The studio is well heated, so we were nice and cozy. We really enjoyed our weekend at Julia's, and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a romantic getaway.

    Caitlin2013-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had an awesome stay at Julia's studio! It was clean, comfortable and just as described. We especially loved her tiny goats, her hiking recommendations and especially her totally lovable dog, Milo. Julia was also extremely friendly and willing to chat about Asheville. Overall, wonderful stay just about 10 or 15 minutes to downtown. Highly recommended!

    Anna2014-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place is great. It's in a beautiful area, about 10 mins from downtown. Her dog, Milo, is a gosh darn sweetheart, and so are the goats. Will definitely stay here again.

  • We had a great time at Julia's and with the goats! Thanks for making us feel welcome. The studio apartment is very spacious and nicely laid out--we were very comfortable there. The location is very convenient to town. Overall this place is a great value and a wonderful escape.

  • We had a lovely time staying in Julia's apartment which us beautifully decorated and is very well equipped. Julia was a great host and Milo and the goats were very sweet! The location is perfect for hiking and for exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would highly recommend it!

  • We stayed in Julia's place for only 3 nights in late December. The place is beautiful and Hulia is a great host. The cottage is located in a great area, very quiet but close enough to town. We highly recommend it.

  • Simply perfect for us. At the end of a road overlooking pastures. IKEA-type furnishings. Very cool. Every morning I had coffee on the patio and listened to wild turkey's in the distance. Every amenity needed to stay in and cook the organics from the local farmer's market as well as easy highway access to sample dozens of quality restaurants and brew pubs in the area. Julia's is the perfect complement to all that the area has to offer. If Airbnb gave out prizes, Julia's place would be a grand prize winner.

    Wallace2013-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Julia's place for a second time this past weekend and enjoyed it a second time. It is a cozy getaway that is perfect for staying in and reading/resting/relaxing or as a comfortable and cost-effective way to see Asheville. I recommend this place!

Built in 2010, Waterfall Cottage provides a romantic, comfortable, rustic retreat space in the woods perched just above a magical flowing mountain stream. Drive only 15 minutes into Asheville, 7 to 10 minutes from hiking, restaurants, and grocery shopping.
Our beloved Waterfall Cottage is perfect for an individual or couple who wish to experience the best of both worlds, the peaceful zen of the woods with two mountain streams which come together on our property as well as being within 15 minutes driving distance to both downtown Asheville and Black Mountain (where you will find great abundance of amazing restaurants, shopping, nightlife and other attractions). The cottage contains a queen size bed. There is also a small living space with a futon plus table/chairs for 2 people, full bathroom (from which you have a view of our small waterfall), and a cozy galley kitchen (for simple food preparation). Your own private back deck also overlooks the water. The cottage is located on one acre of land in the Buckeye Cove Community of Swannanoa (between Asheville and Black Mountain). The "main house", where my husband Jason and I live, sits about 50 feet from Waterfall Cottage. If you like, you may also meander along the woodland path which we created along the perimeter of the property. We are eager to share our little piece of paradise with likehearted souls! NOTE: -To get to Waterfall Cottage, you will drive a half mile on an unpaved road. While there is a small amount of incline in spots and the road is not always in the best of condition, you do not need a special type of car to get to us. I personally drive a small Prius(not an all wheel drive car). The only time when driving in our neighborhood becomes problematic is when we are dealing with significant snow accumulation on the road. -Many guests at Waterfall Cottage are not able to get a signal on their cellphone. Usually driving a short distance out of our cove will restore your cellphone signal. We have Wifi on the property which works reasonably well, however guests' ability to connect to it is not 100% guaranteed. Also provided: -Sheets/Towels -TV with Roku including Netflix -Air conditioning/Heat -Refrigerator -Coffee maker(fresh local coffee and tea provided) -Toaster oven and Microwave oven -Blender -Two electric NuWave brand burners for cooking -Basic cookware/cooking utensils -Flatware service for 4 people, glasses, mugs, etc. -Standard staples such as dishsoap, handsoap, cooking oil, sugar/honey, salt/pepper. Jason and I have been practicing massage therapists in the Asheville area since 2001. For an additional charge, you can also book a single or couples massage with us for during your visit. Massage sessions will take place on-site in Waterfall Cottage. Massage therapy rates are: $75 per 70-minute session ($150 for couples massage) $100 per 90-minute session ($200 for couples massage) (We prefer that massage sessions are scheduled ahead of time before your arrival if possible.)
  • We can't think of anything we could recommend or change - our stay at Waterfall cottage was just perfect! Just what we wanted and were hoping for. Our only complaint is that it was TOO SHORT!! The setting is so tranquil and Liz and Jason's welcome to their space was lovely. Clearly it's a haven for them and they want to share the experience - we were happy to be two ofthe lucky ones to find it. THANKYOU Jason and Liz!!

    Orla2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Liz welcomed us as soon as we pulled in. The cottage was perfect, just as pictured as described. There were plenty of supplies for cooking, bathing, and sleeping (as well as information for visitors to the area). It was so very well set up! Nothing was forgotten or overlooked :). The waterfall and babbling brook were such a bonus! Every moment there was peaceful and perfect, and all our needs were met. This place was close and convenient to everything yet wonderfully hidden! The Hostess gave precise, excellent directions to the cottage! Very well done!

    Barbara2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The waterfall cottage exceeded our expectations! It was clean, comfortable, and included all the necessities. The sound of the waterfall and the peeping frogs was just amazing, and we spent quite a bit of time enjoying it on the porch. Liz was very helpful and I recommend it to anyone looking for a serene getaway.

    Stevie2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint, comfortable cabin. Liz was super quick in responding to us, and very helpful. Beautiful stream and mini waterfall behind the house. Only about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, so very convenient as well. Definitely recommend staying here for the place and for interacting with the great host, Liz.

    Ryan2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Liz was a wonderful host!! She was incredibly easy to communicate with, and helped me plan our stay to a T. The cabin was impeccably neat and clean, the bed was comfy, and we had everything we needed and more. The photos and description of amenities were absolutely accurate, and our three day stay flew by. The bed was comfy, the babbling brook off the back porch was peaceful and picturesque, and the temperature was perfect (and easy to heat/cool). We chose to make massage appointments with Liz and Jason as well, they both did an excellent job and left us feeling relaxed. Very convenient to drive in and out of Asheville. You're not too far from main roads, but it feels like an escape to the woods in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

    Abby2016-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Waterfall Cabin was perfect for our Asheville getaway. The setting is from a storybook with beautiful views of the water and the woods. Liz was a great host ensuring we had excellent directions to the cabin. We will definitely stay here again

    Johnathan2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very welcoming and comfy!!! I enjoyed the stay, and will be returning!

    Mikeala2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Waterfall Cottage was such a nice, cozy and clean cabin! My husband and I feel in love with it during our stay. The creek in the back adds a nice relaxing touch. The water provided at the cottage was absolutely delicious! It is filtered through the main house and tastes so fresh! Liz and her husband were very hospitable and friendly. We enjoyed meeting them and they were very attentive to all our needs. Would certainly recommend this beautiful cabin!

THIS LISTING HAS MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION, not what map shows, and not the same address listed. No longer on 50 acres -now in an ever better spot at the EDGE OF ASHEVILLE... close to downtown & all that Asheville has to offer! Handcrafted green built Tiny House on Wheels in a prime location at the edge of town... walkable to restaurants, shops, yoga, a lake, and only an 8min drive to downtown -hard to find anything else like it! Propane fireplace, organic sheets, loft bed, coffee, wi-fi.
Yes, it's a whole house under 100q ft! The new location is in an urban lot next to a main house, yet still feels like it's own private space. The Tiny House itself is an amazing little house with unique touches throughout that make it a true one of a kind you'll just have to see for yourself ... with propane fireplace, full bath, sleeping loft, couch/bed, full kitchen, gas stove, closet, and foldable desk. Lots of attention to detail in this green built house, with handmade cutting board countertops, custom stainless shower walls, a whole house water filter system, organic beds, linens, and beautiful reclaimed wood throughout. *There is NO AC in the house (it does not have the electrical capacity), just plenty of windows and fans to cool the house down. If you need AC then I recommend coming during the cooler parts of the year. Sleeping accommodations (please read): You'll need to climb ladder to access the sleeping loft. It's cozy with a cute tiny window to gaze out at the stars, but it is VERY TINY, beware... just enough space to sleep. It fits 2 people if you're comfortable sharing such a small space. There's also a single bed in the living room, which is set up to be used as a couch during the day. No ladder climbing needed! You do need to be under 5'6" tall to fit in the couch bed though... so when I say accommodate 3 (1 of the guests needs to be under 5'6"). Want to bring a 4th guest? No prob, just bring a sleeping pad and sleeping bag for the floor, there's room for one more... as long as you all get along, remember, it's small space. Toilet: One of the nicest compost toilets on the market... no odor whatsoever, and easy to use. It's really not much different from a standard toilet - there's just no need to flush, and the urine goes into a separate hole. Model: Separett Villa, if you want to look it up for more information. Wake in the morning to organic coffee or tea. I also stock the shelves with basic spices and organic food staples, so make yourself at home and enjoy :)
A wonderful urban neighborhood that feels private and cozy while also really close to Asheville happenings... very close to the main Street of Merrimon Ave and the interstate, so easily accessible to just about everything (by bike, bus, car, or on foot).
  • Rhode's tiny home was perfect. Our stay was short but sweet! Rhodes was incredibly kind and available if we had any questions. The location was also perfect. Close to Asheville but also secluded and private. Loved hearing the chickens in the morning and cooking with the chicken eggs that were left! We enjoyed playing on the monkey bars of the ceiling and loved the little loft! Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking into it.

    Jenn2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • My brother and I really enjoyed oir brief stay in Rhodes tiny house. The location was a tad tricky to find in the dark but it's beautiful, surrounded by a forest of mature trees. The index cards throughout the space were helpful. positive first experience! Thanks Rhodes

    Steve2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rhodes and the tiny home was wonderful. It was simple and easy to arrange for my arrival with the description, directions and instructions. The home was amazing! I love the concept of tiny homes and this was my first experience. I enjoyed it so much I stayed in more than I expected. I ended up cooking full meals, reading by the fireside and indulging in some of the provided reading materials about home design and green living. The property was nice and set back on the edge of the woods. The home was stocked with more provisions than I expected including a dozen fresh chicken and duck eggs to enjoy. The fireplace was my favorite feature in addition to the ability to cook so well. I would recommend this affordable Air B&B option over many options available for its value for price. Not to mention Rhodes facilitates your visit so smoothly. Thanks again Rhodes!

    James2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a blast staying in Rhodes' Tiny House. It was tiny but very well laid out and supplied. There were three of us, one of whom is a ten year-old child, so it worked, but I don't think three adults would be as successful as we were in utilizing the limited space. The loft is very comfortable, once you get up there and situated, and the entire space is cozy and kept warm by the propane fireplace. Two large adults would not fit in the loft, so do keep this in mind. All in all, Rhodes has done a very good job meeting the needs of his guests, and I definitely recommend his home for a funky and fun stay in the woods of Asheville.

    David And Susan2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rhodes' tiny home was just as described but exceeded expectations. When problems came up, Rhodes was quick to help solve them. I would recommend a stay at this home to anyone.

    Claudia2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rhodes was an awesome host for a most needed restorative get-away. She was very responsive to any questions or needs. The house was tidy and warm upon arrival. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I was shocked at how spacious the space felt. I could even lay down my yoga mat in front of the fireplace. The neighborhood felt very safe. Each day I would walk around the woods, catch the sunrise, and go by the pond. The house was stocked with organic teas and other quality products, which made me feel at home. Additionally, if I wanted to move around a bit there are monkey bars within the nook of the roof! Even if I hadn't come prepared with books and activities in mind, there were plenty of games and interesting books laying around the house. I would definitely recommend this tiny house to friends and family looking for a unique trip to the woods!

    Elizabeth2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I spent two nights in this beautiful tiny house with two friends this weekend. It was very cozy for three adult people. We enjoyed the two nights we spent in such close quarters but agreed two nights was probably our limit. The wooden interior is beautiful and I loved the design of the kitchen! The property where the tiny house is wonderful. It was a perfect way to have time in the country while spending the day in downtown Asheville.

    Kiley2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • In Asheville, I’ve stayed in everything from B&B’s to tents to spas to upper tier chain hotels.....this was by far the best of them all. Rhodes is a super host for a reason! The tiny house had everything I needed, and Rhodes had considered and provided almost everything a reasonable person would want as well. From coffee and cream to games, books, DVD’s and toiletries. The house is amazingly functional without form suffering at all, the obviously considered design elegant and beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient to downtown by car or Uber. If I get back to Asheville before this house rolls on, it’s where I’ll stay!

Next to a serine creek, off the Blue Ridge Pkwy, and 5 min. To downtown. This 116 yr old, two story 700 sq ft home has charm like no other. Internet, Roku TV, walk in shower, small fridge, wood stove, microwave, and Blue tooth sound system. The upstairs loft/bedroom has low ceilings. Approximately 6'2"

  • paul was a great host of a great spot. he fixed up a perfect little cottage into a perfect little nook right off the parkway! check-in/out was a breeze. i've already recommended to friends/family.

    Tyler2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place. Not far from all of Asheville’s activities. Paul is a wonderful host that is very helpful with anything.

    Sarah2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is a very good host. He knew we were staying with our baby so he went out of his way to bring a space heater in case it got to cold for the baby. I highly recommend staying here. It is a great value too. He could be charging a lot more for his place and it still would be a great value. It is a very unique place.

    Joshua2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do this little cottage justice. Not more than 5-10 minutes from great city spots, but definitely tucked away at the same time, it is perfect for a trip to Asheville. We didn't get to do any hiking off the Blue Ridge Parkway on this trip, but we plan to come back soon to experience that part of the scenic surrounding area.

    Kathleen2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic. The house was so quaint and charming, and was even more beautiful than the pictures. When I booked this spot, I was worried it seemed too good to be true-- I was happily wrong! We felt so at home, even though we just stayed there for one night. The house was a perfect size for two, and we LOVED have the downstairs kitchen and living room. We wish it had been a little cooler and we could've used the fireplace! Everything was magnificent and the house had everything we could need (coffee, dishes, bathroom supplies, Netflix set up, music speakers, etc.) Paul was super welcoming and check-in was a breeze, he was also very responsive to anything we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our trip, we wish we could've stayed longer! We will definitely be back to Paul's when we come back to Asheville!

    Mandy2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Paul did a fantastic job with this place. It was perfect even down to the little details. He’s an awesome guy as well. Best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at! Highly recommend.

    Ben2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very warm welcome by Paul and his lovely wife. The house is located very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway visitor center and to the highway. However, it is very quiet and close to the nature. The little house is very cute, and everything is done to make our stay comfortable, we just love it! There are also rabbits that we can pet. Paul and his family are very nice, and we would have loved to stay longer. We highly recommend them!

An adorable, romantic, Moroccan influenced getaway close to downtown and walking distance to West Asheville's restaurants and shops. This cottage sanctuary is truly a three-dimensional piece of art, with exquisite architecture and artistic touches. Quiet street and family neighborhood. Queen bed upstairs and single reading/sleeping loft downstairs. Three blocks to Carrier Park, two miles to the River District, and a short stroll to Owl (amazing bakery)
Your own cottage in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by two designers in West (Website hidden by Airbnb) looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Pizza Mind, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, The 5 star restaurant The Admiral or more casual Bim Beri Bon. Villagers is across the street from Owl. They carry a unique selection of books on homesteading, fermenting, herbs and gardening along with interesting home goods such as local pottery and cutting boards. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
Mostly bungalows, friendly, low key, walk big distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Villagers ( home goods) and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • For the money, you get an entire "Tiny House" and Camille is an excellent host. You certainly can walk around the neighborhood, but you will be driving most of the time. Mermaid Cottage is located in a gentrifying neighborhood which in itself is not an issue (Friendly/Safe) but it is what it is. Everything work great including WI-FI but their is no Cable/Satellite T.V. so a longer stay (we were there for a week), you kind of wish it was around.

    Sanford2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at the mermaid cottage in the past year. It was just as awesome this time as the last. Camille is an amazing host! Super personable. Easy to come and go. Communication was great! Perfect location close to everything. Like our last trip we walked to dinner, brunch, get doughnuts, breweries, etc. Space is well represented in listing. Great value. We will be back for sure!

    Henry2015-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is nested in a charming, blooming neighborhood of colorful houses and tiny streets. The architecture is foreign but somehow perfectly placed. The cottage is the epitome of well designed space, making total use of natural light and the inviting floor plan. Walking in was like traveling to a whole new place—the space is thoughtfully arranged, extremely usable, and touches of design abound. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of utensils and cookware, the bathroom was clean and towels were provided. The stay was very enjoyable—highly recommend. As a taller person, I have to mention that if you're above 6'3" you may not fit in the loft bed very well as the mattress is wall to wall—there's no room for feet to hang off.

    Josh2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect.

    Dylan2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I (plus our pup, too!) just enjoyed a relaxing weekend in Asheville. Camille's home was every bit as charming as the listing depicted, and was the perfect retreat for a weekend away. We loved being in a different part of Asheville, and the location was perfect: less than 10 minutes from downtown, and close to great cafes, the greenway, and little shops. We loved being in this unique home, and would happily stay there again!

    Meredith2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was a great host and we absolutely loved the Mermaid Cottage! It was warm and cozy, which was perfect after a late arrival to Asheville. She'd left us coffee, cream & sugar, and we were thankful not to have to go out in the 16 degree weather in the morning to pick those up. We loved the artful detail of the cottage and the immediate comfort we felt when we walked in. Camille was incredibly responsive, and even though we didn't cross paths in our short stay her presence was felt all over the unique property. I would definitely stay here again!

    Susannah2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time on our stay! The mermaid cottage was perfect on every way! And Camille was so nice! We will absolutely be back :)

    Taylor2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was very welcoming upon our arrival. The Mermaid Cottage is very cozy, comfortable, clean and perfect for two people. We have spent a lot of time in Asheville and the location makes it easy to get to any point of interest. There is also a nice park down the road for a morning walk or run. We truly enjoyed our stay!

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • Our experience staying at the rad pad was superb! The owners communicateD with us as much as we needed, access to the property was a breeze. The pad was clean, and provided us with a comfortable place to stay, with fun little extras provided :) A bottle of Vino Verde was waiting for us in the fridge, perfect for summer, along with bottled water. Meg left an informative welcome note, that also had Wifi info. She was available for us to text with questions and promptly responded. She even told us of an event that was occurring Sunday that we attendee and truly enjoyed. Staying at the rad pad took our Asheville experience up a notch, we will stay there again!

  • Everything about this place was A++++! Close to everything you can dream of. Clean and beautifully decorated. Great communication and ease of checking in + out. Would stay again and highly reccomend.

  • Great space, really beautiful inside. Clean, comfortable, and a great value. Hosts are very responsive and accommodating :)

  • The proximity to downtown was fantastic. It was a quick drive and from there, we would typically park in one place and walk around. The space itself is very stylish and provided us with everything that we needed. I definitely recommend!

    Kaitlin2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about the place. The house was well built and beautifully decorated, which added much local charm you'd never find in a hotel. We were also welcomed with a warm note and a small gift. From beginning to end this stay exceeded expectations.

    Ben2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Meg, and Alisa, were awesome to deal with and the place is fantastic. We went to almost every place that Meg recommended and they were all super fun. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Asheville. It's an easy 5 minute walk to all the cool bars and restaurants in West Asheville and a 5-10 minute drive downtown. The studio is super open and airy and the bathroom is spacious and modern. I will definitely come back to Asheville, and I will definitely stay here again.

    Kevin2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we only got to stay here one night! The hosts were nice and helpful, the place was right around the corner from the middle of West Asheville, and everything was clean and put together in cute studio they have added on to their home! I will DEFINITELY stay here again, and we are unfortunately already missing Asheville so I will be back.

    Savannah2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed at Meg's place while passing through Asheville and really loved it. The feel of the space is hip and new, with a comfy bed, great towels, TV wifi etc. This apartment is located in a hip small neighborhood (West Asheville) about a 10 minute drive from downtown. We liked exploring this neighborhood which had a couple great bars and restaurants, including King Daddy's which was delish. Meg was an excellent communicator and had some great recommendations for us. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.

  • Great place to stay. Very clean and exactly what we needed for our 24 hour trip to Asheville!

  • This was such a unique home, I loved it! Shawn was very accommodating and in a perfect location to explore Asheville.

  • What a wonderfully private space that’s also convenient to everything. Clean , relaxing , with the worlds most comfortable bed! Thanks !

  • Terrific location, clean and very eclectic.

    Jamie2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Shawn's place. The place is really close to plenty of restaurants and only a short drive to downtown and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The room is very private and cleanly and even goes above and beyond with complimentary towels and soaps.

    Mary2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Place was simple and cozy, bed was comfortable but noisy.... Sent Shawn a text and he responded promptly and took care of the issue quickly while we were out grabbing a bite to eat. Speaking of which...many great places to go within walking distance of this place. Pizza mind was excellent! Great record store down the street. Took a longer walk down to Hole donuts... Also excellent. We enjoyed the hot tub and the bathtub too. Only thing is...there's not really a standing shower...but that wasn't a problem for us. Felt very private. Would book again.

We were chosen by a senior AirBnB staff to be the place they stayed at. "The two of you are the definition of what it means to be a remarkable AirBnB host. The care you put into the host-guest relationship is noticed and truly appreciated." Another recent guest said "“You guys were amazing, by far the best AirBnB stay I have ever had! Out of the numerous stays I have had through AirBnB, this was my best trip by far." Spacious, very private, peaceful and lovely, this one-bedroom apartment is on the lower level of a 2013 built, three-story, local notable artist’s home. Amongst other amenities, it has filtered water, a mini-fridge, small microwave, and coffee maker. There is not a stove/oven. Situated in a quiet, historic Asheville neighborhood – Kenilworth - there is lots of natural light through windows that face the woods. Enter through your own private entrance and enjoy your own deck overlooking the lush woods for three seasons, or a mountain view when the leaves are down. It is very private giving you all the space you need. Tall, mature trees grace your entrance and apartment, giving the visual perspective of being in a tree house. You hear the sounds of Asheville in the woods, everything from the train toot, to the plentiful birds, to the foxes in the neighborhood. This special hide-away is centrally located & 5-10 minutes to just about all of Asheville's major destinations, including Downtown, Biltmore Estate, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Village, and River Arts District. Sleeps up to five guests with a master bedroom, sleeping nook off the living room with a full sized bed, and room for air mattresses in the living room. A one-of-a kind custom made wooden pallet bed frame holds the extremely comfortable king sized bed, with luxurious linens. Many guests said it was the best bed they ever slept on. The living room couch can be used for sleeping for the extra teenager. LGBT, family & kid friendly. Calming colors, organic cork floors throughout and eco-friendly. We have a dog and two cats and while our AirBnB guests are in their own quarters, we have found it becomes too complicated to allow other pets. As such, we cannot accept reservations with pets. Lynn also gives 2-3 day individual (or multiple people) artist retreats at her studio. Special Retreat discount for people who are our AirBnB guests. Jake is an ethics and compliance consultant. He is considered an accomplished chef by all who have dined at the house, and for stays of four or more nights, schedules permitting, it would give him pleasure to create a gourmet breakfast for you for one morning of your stay (included in the price). • Jake met us in the downstairs apartment upon our arrival and gave us some tips about the apartment, and about Asheville.

  • My husband and I decided to visit Asheville for my 30th birthday. We love visiting Asheville and were very excited after looking at pictures and reviews about staying at Lynn and Jakes. The space is more then enough for two people and Lynn and Jake are very accommodating. The bed is very comfortable and towels are really soft! Thanks again for the hospitality! We hope to stay again in the future! Jenna and Jeremy

    Jenna2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place Jake and Lynn have! It's convenient to everything and beautifully decorated. Thanks for having me!

    Valerie2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • After our previous Asheville booking had to cancel on us, we lucked out and snagged this "jewel". As city folks, it was very nice to stay somewhere tucked away in the woods! The apartment was very clean and cozy, and the bed was amazing! We were downtown in no time. Fabulous place!

    Claire2015-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Could not have had a more perfect experience in Asheville! The location is spectacular, the apartment was inviting and comfortable, and Jake & Lynn could not have been better. Superbly helpful with suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this little gem of a hideaway to others. We could not have had a better stay!

    Jennifer2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it! The downstairs "apartment" is very nice and spacious for two people. The decor was gorgeous and everything was very clean. Not to mention the king bed was just as comfortable as other reviews mentioned. The only thing we noticed was you could hear the dogs barking and footsteps upstairs. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfect. The location was also something worth mentioning- Maybe 5 minutes to downtown and Biltmore. We read other reviews stating it was close, but it was closer than we thought! Unfortunately we weren't able to meet Jake, but Lynn was very accommodating and very sweet. She had invited us to see her art studio downtown, but we couldn't seem to leave the warm indoors since the high was 24 that day! We will definitely keep this home in mind next time we travel through Asheville. I can imagine how pretty the view would be in the summer! Thank you all for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

    Emily2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate space and very welcoming host. Location was only moments to all the best that Asheville offers. Neighborhood was very quiet, comfortable. We'd definitely recommend this location for your next visit.

    Ken2015-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The moment we stepped into the house, we knew we had not reserved enough nights in Asheville! The space alone made us want to come back for at least a full week's retreat. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Jake and Lynn (who kindly informed us they would be out of town before we booked), but they provided us with a comprehensive list of things to do in Asheville beforehand, and made sure we had everything we needed via messages. We had some unexpected turns on our way to Asheville and arrived later than we had anticipated, but their house sitter Erin was extremely kind and flexible in helping us check in nevertheless. The neighbourhood is beautiful and quiet, and a very short and easy drive from downtown Asheville. We hope we get a chance to book another stay with Jake and Lynn!

Close to downtown Asheville (less than 2 miles), Grove Park Inn, Botanical Gardens, and UNCA, you can walk to a meal, movie, & brewery. A quaint retreat--a serene space with high ceilings, natural wood & large windows. It's a small building next to our house in a private, peaceful, and simple setting. Includes a private full bath, wi-fi, meditation space, a desk, a mini-fridge, & coffee maker all in a comfy quiet neighborhood. It's great for couples, solo adventurers, & business travelers.
It's own private building with it's own private full bath. A lockbox and key, allows you to come and go as you wish. It's a quiet and pretty space with lots of windows and wood throughout.
We live in an historic neighborhood, called Norwood Park right on the edge of Grove Park. We are surrounded by tree-lined streets and historic homes. Situated just north of downtown, between Merrimon and Kimberly Avenues. Less than 2 miles from downtown Asheville and less than 1 mile from The Omni Grove Park Inn. Great location, close to everything, while being relaxing and quiet.
  • For our first ever AirB&B experience The Zen Cabin was everything we hoped for... clean, cozy, private and peaceful. It was easy to find and in an awesome location for visiting the greater Asheville area. The specific instructions for the zen cabin (arriving, maintenance, communication, etc) were found and understood with ease. It is obvious our host takes pride in her accommodations and seeks to offer her guests a genuine home away from home. We are relaxed and happily vacationed... thank you Tami!

    Deana2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Zen Cabin was just that.. a perfect little place to call home while we were away, to clear the mind, and reflect on the new year! It was cozy and warm, and loved the assortment of books to read and meditate on. Tami was great and responsive when we needed to get in touch! We would love to stay again!

    Jaque2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tami's Zen Cabin provided a great opportunity for us to stay near downtown Asheville while experiencing a cozy atmosphere. We loved the decorations and the guides to local attractions that were available.

    David2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Zen Cabin is a cozy place perfect for a couple trying to have a private get-away. Downtown was a short drive away. The neighborhood is gorgeous and great for runners/walkers as long as you don't mind the Asheville hills.

    Elizabeth2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at the zen cabin. It was very close to downtown and had everything you needed. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and quiet. I highly recommend it for a weekend in Asheville.

Entire private 4000+ square foot "McMansion" in West Asheville. The rooms/home feature stunning year round views, king beds, Huge TV with netflix, high speed wireless internet, cable TV, walking distance to groceries, and plenty of space to relax throughout the day. Enjoy the views of the mountains from the spacious front balconies and relax in the large jetted tubs. A well stocked kitchen awaits you for any meal you would like to prepare.
Enjoy the beautiful year long mountain views minutes from everything Asheville has to offer. The outdoor hot tub is finally working! We have two large garden tubs inside each of two master bathrooms as well. Owning and remodeling this home has been quite the adventure, and I'm so glad to be able to share the space with people. Enjoy the large front patio for breathtaking year round mountain views. The balcony is accessible through the front living space or through one of the master bedrooms, with the upstairs master bedroom having it's own private balcony with an even better view. There are two master bedrooms that are almost identical, each having their own large jetted garden tub and showers, and the house has 3 other bedrooms and two full bathrooms in addition, leaving a ton of space for your group. Huge kitchen features granite countertops, cooktop, oven, dishwasher, and a fully stocked kitchen. There is a very large smart TV, dining room, rear deck, and plenty of space for entertaining. The home features some privacy, yet it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. There is a steep driveway, but any car can make it up easily. In case of inclement weather we have alternative parking spaces available, but this is only an issue sometimes in the winter months.
This is a great neighborhood on the side of a mountain in Asheville, NC. The neighbors are awesome, and we love it here. This place is truly unique, close to everything, and has amazing year round views.
  • Awesome experience and really great place. 24 hour access made checking in and out super easy and the view was fantastic from the balcony.

    Alex2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • We totally enjoyed our stay at Shawn's place. We only had 2 nights, but are already planning our next visit for a longer stay! Location was great as we have family and friends in the West Asheville area. Info sent prior to our visit about lock box and room location was spot on. Quiet spacious room was a calm retreat - no time for the large hot tub this time, but will definitely try next time.

    Pam2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The entire experience was great! Though Shawn was available, and I believe present, when we arrived, he did not seek us out. We are the type of people who like to stay more to ourselves unless we need assistance, so having our privacy was nice.

    Chelsea2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for the money. Very high up on the hillside, so lovely view from the balcony. Not in town, but only a few minutes from so much Asheville culture and entertainment.

    Gary2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great location, easy to get in and out.

    Sherwin2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable bed and relaxing jacuzzi. Enjoyed the privacy of the room. Breathtaking view from the balcony. Clean house met our basic criteria for a very brief, overnight stay in Asheville. The steep driveway leading to the house was tough for our little Honda Civic, especially because we arrived after dark, but I appreciated Shawn noting the steep driveway in the house manual.

    Easha2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The "Echo Room" at Shawn's was as described and a great value. As Shawn notes himself and others have commented upon, some light remodeling is taking place in his home...but none of it is an issue for the (Website hidden by Airbnb) noise...etc... For the money, I doubt is you can find a room in Asheville with the magnificent view , privacy, memory foam bed, Netflix, and a large bath including large walk-in shower and private hot tub. Checking in and out is very simple and easy. Shawn provides great directions and information concerning the best restaurants and breweries. Definitely give "The Oyster House" a try. I would and will rent a room at Shawn's without hesitation.

One bedroom, one bath private basement apartment in beautiful mountain home. Private entrance, incredible views and tons of outdoor space including fire pit.
Finished basement apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed, cedar lined closet and vanity closet with sink. There is no window in the bedroom. Some people really like having a very dark bedroom, for others it can be unsettling. Both the kitchen and the bathroom do have windows. The laundry room has washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, along with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and toaster. This kitchen is not set up for heavy duty cooking (no pots and pans, stove top or oven) but it gets the job done for casual meals or reheating leftovers. Dishes are provided. The bathroom is small but has excellent water pressure. Please note that there is no internet or cell reception indoors, although you can get a clear signal outside. There is a tv with a dvd player and movies, no cable. The house has beautiful views and loads of space to roam. There's an outdoor fire pit that you are more than welcome to use, and hammocks for lounging in the summer. Very private location that feels like you're far out in the woods but you're really only minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that there isn't really one! The house is fairly secluded but still only a short drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. The roads close to my home are very windy, so you may want to add a few minutes to your expected commute if you're not used to mountain roads.
  • A great host and a great place to stay. A wonderful mountain hideaway

    Maia2017-11-22T00:00:00Z

    Nora2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie was a wonderful host! The location was perfect-- close to Ashville but far enough from the city life. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay here.

    Amelia2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and comfortable stay. Her space offers everything that a traveler needs!

    Brandon2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie was extremely friendly and her place serves as a cozy, secluded getaway tucked back in nature. I was looking for a place to unplug for a couple days and it was perfect for that. My first night there, I cooked dinner over the fire and watched wild turkeys roam the property. Being so close to the woods, you're naturally going to run into some bugs and spotty cell service, but for the value, you really can't beat this spot. (I'll also note I had strong cell service out back by the fire pit, which was nice for streaming music.) Her home is an easy 15-20 minutes from downtown Asheville, and even closer to grocery and shopping centers if you need them. Thanks, Ellie!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • As first time guests in the city of Asheville, my wife and I couldn't have picked a better spot. The Preissler's loft is clean, comfortable and cozy; best of all, it is located in the heart of downtown Asheville, walkable to everything you need. Krista ensured that we had everything that we needed. Will definitely seek availability for this place on our next trip!

    Ryan2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The host made us feel completely welcome with excellent communication and clear instructions. We had phone numbers to call if need be, and plenty of information to welcome us to town. It was one of the best rental experiences we've had in decades, partly because the attention to details made us feel so comfortable. We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to share this wonderful home. I was especially appreciative that there were live plants, lots of light, and no artificial scents (thank you, thank you!) There was a recycle bin that we appreciated, and the kitchen was well appointed. This home has an amazing city decor with it's high ceilings, wall of windows overlooking the city, hardwood floors, and efficient kitchen. Pocket doors offer privacy, and plenty of bed linens are stored in an attractive armoire. The bed was so comfortable that it must have an independent spring system. You could get out of bed without disturbing the person you're with. It's important to us to have unscented and natural products. I appreciated the host's apparent value to this way of thinking. The bathroom had a couple of features that will remind you that Krista has your comfort in mind such as: shampoo and conditioner, eye makeup remover pads, razors, q-tips, hand soap, hair drier, and a nifty little night light. The sound machine was a nice touch, and the ceiling fans in both the living area and bedroom were lovely. What a great collection of books, magazines and board games to enjoy! If you want to be right in the heart of the city, you have to realize that the sounds of the nearby restaurants and bars are part of the ambiance. It was so convenient to walk down the stairs or hop onto the elevator and immediately be steps from all that downtown Asheville has to offer. The craft beer and delightful variety of really great restaurants and meeting places are just a small taste of what this city has in store for you. We found a European style bakery that had lines out the door late at night. Their cakes and cookies were magical. If you still have a sweet tooth after that, find the drinking chocolate establishment. Oh my! Tapas at a favorite restaurant, pizza made with local heirloom stoneground grain, and a two hour painting class from a local artist (The Paint Bug) were just a few of the many adventures to add to our memories of this progressive town. It was a short drive (worth it) to The Biltmore Estate. We'd love to keep this place our little secret, but in hopes that the owner will continue to share this special gem...we have decided to share our experience with those of you that are looking for "that special getaway". We left this home exactly as we found it and treated it with love and care. I could only hope that anyone who stays here will do the same so that we...

  • Great location for exploring city, dining, and shopping. Everything was perfect and went as smoothly as it possibly could have! Would definetly stay here again.

  • This loft is absolutely perfect for anyone that wants a lively place to stay. The location is central to all of the best bars and stores in Asheville. I would definitely recommend to anyone! We will be back for sure!

  • Perfect loft in downtown Asheville. Walk to great restaurants , breweries and other venues. The loft is decorated so nice and the furniture so comfy. Communication with the owners is awesome. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Asheville.

    George2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the heart of Asheville. Walking distance to everything. Very cool loft with great amenities, comfortable bed, and everything one needs. The only negative during my stay was the restaurant/bar downstairs which happened to host some bands during my weekend, who were fairly loud; however, the white noise machine worked quite well and allowed us to sleep. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and we will return.

    Allyson2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Krista's loft was incredible! Rather than staying in a hotel, my wife and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary in downtown Asheville. We could not have been more pleased with where we ended up staying. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was super trendy and Krista truly thought of every detail to make her guest feel at home. From a thorough guide of the in-and-outs of the loft, a restaurant and activity guide, a free parking passing (Huge plus and time/money saver), to all of the amenities in the loft you could possibly need for a incredible stay, Krista was a great host and super organized. Not to mention, the location of the loft could not have been better. You cannot go wrong with choosing this location. It is comparably priced to the nearby hotels, but with the location and the experience of staying in such an incredible loft, I would recommend choosing Krista's loft... every time!

    Daniel2014-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great loft apartment with tall ceilings. Big space but still cozy. Great windows/light. Updated kitchen with granite counters and good appliances. Great Living/TV space. It is surrounded by bars/restaurants and is on a main drag so noise can be an issue if you go to bed early on weekends. But that’s downtown living trade off. I loved it. Andy and Krista are wonderful and very attentive and accommodating!

ENTIRE PRIVATE HOME - Our comfortable home in the mountains awaits your arrival! Really cool outdoor living spaces, great kitchen, high speed internet and views of Spivey mountain are some of the highlights here. It's Located in a quiet low traffic neighborhood just minutes to West Asheville and downtown.
Feel free to make use of the outdoor fireplace, patio, and anything else in the home. I try to make this house feel like your "home away from home" so if there's anything you need please let me know and I'll do my best to help you.

    David2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in quiet neighborhood. Perfect size for 3/4 couples. Hot tub was extremely dirty and unusable, communication was spotty and issues ignored and not taken care of. Trash cans were in garage and full as well as numerous bags on the ground, smell was horrendous. Floors were quite dirty. Beds were clean and comfortable, bathrooms were also clean. Reached out to host about issues and was basically ignored. Airbnb handled the situation with class and care, refunded part of the cost.

  • House was HUGE for two people but for the price we couldn’t pass it up. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub and the space. It was nice to have Netflix available as well as all the cooking utensils imaginable. I’ve always wanted roomba as well; so that was an entertaining touch and made it simple to keep the wood floors clean during our stay. About a 15 minute drive to downtown Asheville.

I designed this cozy, small space for myself and have loved living in it! If you have ever wondered what it's like to live tiny (or smallish) come stay and try it out! It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood minutes from downtown...(Uber is available). The deck overlooks a quiet ravine where the bears travel frequently (not as much in the winter). It's quiet and close to everything! Adults only... Thank you! Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (400 sq ft) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view This Tiny House is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors please. Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, and two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • The Ideal tiny home! not too small at all very comfortable!! i could see myself living in a tiny home like this. Really look no further this is the place to stay. The home appears to be professionally built, everything fits all doors and drawers open and close perfectly. Hot water on demand, Cold AC Walking distance from a tap house restaurant, minutes from downtown Asheville. The Host provides all the info you could need about the area, would stay here again.

  • This was our first tiny home, and Karen set the bar high. I can't imagine another one being laid out this nicely. Not only was it clean and comfortable, it felt much bigger than it actually was. Karen was quick to answer any questions, and her list of recommendations was thorough. Would love to come back again. Thanks!

    David2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very roomy tiny home, cozy and spotlessly clean! Great place to stay if coming to Asheville! Karen was a wonderul host.

    Frances2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I absolutely loved our stay here. Perfect location to Uber downtown for a low cost while having all the amenities of your own home. Karen was excellent. We would absolutely stay again!

  • If you're looking for a cozy home away from home that is conveniently located, this is your place. This "tiny house" was beautiful, comfortable, and quiet. Karen went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and she was always readily available via text if we had any questions. We could be downtown in 10 minutes, which was super convenient. Also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We can't say enough good things about this home!

  • The coziest place to stay for a trip to Asheville! Everything you need in the cutest and nicest tiny house! Best Airbnb experience I've ever had!

  • This tiny house was the perfect getaway location for a trip to Asheville. It's the perfect size - probably more spacious than any hotel room! We enjoyed having this comfy space to come back to after exploring the mountains, River Arts District, Biltmore, and Asheville's awesome restaurants and breweries. Its location is very convenient to get to any part of Asheville in 15 minutes or less. Karen was a great host, making sure we had everything we needed for our stay!

Chunns Cove is a world unto itself. We have one neighbor to the north, otherwise all you can see is a trees and flowers depending on the time of year. The cove is human-quiet but bird-noisy! We regularly see creatures that you wouldn't expect and could easily mistake this place in summer for a Costa Rican rain-forest! Ingles, our local grocery store, is 3 minutes SW and Walgreens is 5 minutes SE. Our favorite dinner restaurants are the Admiral in West Asheville and the Bull & Beggar in the River Arts District for which we recommend reservations but you might find a couple of seats around the bar to order a selection of fabulous plates, Wasabi for sushi Downtown and The Copper Crown on Tunnel Road. Lunch time we are partial to Chai Pani's Indian Street Food which i take with no spices and Doc Chey's is ideal on a tight budget, but arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat.
  • Magnificent hosts with an incredible attention to detail. From little things in the bathrooms to a detailed review of rules and expectations of them and guests. We were AirBNB rookies, now we might have unrealistic expectations of future hosts since Fay and Marc set the bar SO HIGH. Thanks for a great stay and we'll be back again.

  • Marc and Fay were wonderful hosts! We really enjoyed the fresh breakfast each morning. The location is great for quick access to many attractions in Asheville. The room was extremely clean and the décor was awesome. If or when we make it back to the Asheville area we will try to stay with them again.

    Brian2016-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed for the weekend & loved it! Breakfast was fabulous & we took home some goodies from Marc's specialty collection. Yay truffles! We loved our room! Great collection or art & repurposed pieces. Wow!!! Awesome stay! We look forward to staying again!

    Danelle2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fay was very welcoming and gave us some advice on restaurants for our anniversary (though I'd done a lot of research beforehand it was good to hear her local opinion). She was always quick to respond to any questions or problems we had. Overall the unit was very well designed; the bed was very comfortable, and the hot tub was a nice perk though I wish I had used it more. The location was extremely convenient to all parts of Asheville and to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the setting was very quiet and serene.

    Erin2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed by choosing this classy and cool bnb. I just wish we could have stayed here during the summer or fall. It is definitely on our wish list for the future. Outstanding!

You can tell that the owners take pride in the place and have put a lot of thought and love into making it a comfortable and welcoming space. We absolutely loved it. We're so glad we found it! Keyless entry with a door code, so you can check-in without host's help! Full kitchen, queen bed, living area and private outdoor patio - all within a 10 minute walk to the best of West Asheville. Just a 5 min drive to downtown. Basement apt.
Studio apartment in the heart of West Asheville. Private entrance and private space. Walking distance to Sunny Point Cafe, West Asheville Yoga Studio, The Isis, West End Bakery, Westville Pub, The Admiral, the new Biscuit Head, the tailgate farmers' market (on Tuesdays), grocery stores, and much more. 15 minute bike ride and a 5 minute drive to downtown. Even closer to the River Arts district! Full kitchen, bathroom, queen bed with high quality linens, comfortable living area, including a couch and chair, and a private patio. New construction, unique, funky, retro, clean and convenient. I can offer a sleeping pad or air mattress for a 3rd guest. Expect a relaxing environment, comfortable accommodations, mini-split heating/cooling, dehumidifier, knowledgable, friendly, and helpful hosts, a big back yard, and a safe, lovely, and interesting neighborhood. We love Asheville, and we're happy to tell you why and help you find your way around. Or leave you alone. Whatever you prefer. Y ¡hablamos Español! (So does our dog, Fina.) The public bus runs right by our house, so it's easy to hop on if you don't have a car or a bike. Note: The apartment is below our living area, so you may hear footsteps and/or other signs of life above you, despite high-quality soundproofing insulation between the floors. We make every effort to walk softly and protect your peace and quiet.
Walkability is the best feature of my neighborhood. So many fun restaurants, shops, and night spots are within a 10 minute walk of the studio, as well as quiet neighborhood strolls if you prefer. Biscuihead for breakfast and The Admiral for dinner are my two recommendations. If you love to walk, this is your spot! And downtown is just a 5 minute drive. Walkable evening venues include The Isis, The Mothlight, and Westville Pub. Other favorites are Nine Mile, The Universal Joint, Sunny Point, Biscuit Head, Oyster House, and Dobra Tea.
  • A nice, cute, clean, private stay within walking and driving distance to so much to do in Asheville!

    Mallory2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an adorable studio apartment to get the experience of Asheville! My husband and I were in love with Kari's spot. It's just right for two people, full updated kitchen, cute bathroom, living room type space (no tv- but you don't need one!). There is a pretty back yard and porch area to sit and drink coffee or ice tea during a nice day. The apartment is within walking distance to the adorable area of west Asheville, lots of good places to eat, coffee shops, places to get a good alcohol drink too. We took an uber a few times to downtown Asheville and it was about $6 from the apartment- perfectly doable! We were also just about 10-15 min from the biltmore which was perfect too. When we come back to Asheville we will definitely see if Kari's place is available!!

    Stephanie2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Kari's. Everything was as described and she is very welcoming! Highly recommend staying here.

  • My sister and I had a great time at this cozy little studio! Kari provided absolutely everything you might need including coffee, a suitcase stand, and a wine opener. We had a great time walking the couple blocks to a great strip of stores in West Asheville. Great location and great hostess!

  • Jan - was extremely considerate and helpful. I couldn't have expected more from a host.. thanks Randy

  • Great place to stay while visiting Asheville. It was about 10-15 min from downtown area and was in a quiet neighborhood. Jan was very sweet and easy to reach via text messaging. You have your own entrance to come and go without disturbing the host. I would stay here again!

    Ashley2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place was just right for my one night stay before my job interview. Although the weather was chilly, she made sure the bed was cozy with extra blankets. She was around to offer help when I needed it, but also the room was very private with us own separate entrance. Thanks, Jan!

    Candace2016-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I was in Jan's home for fewer than 12 hours on a very brief trip to Asheville for a wedding. It was exactly as advertised and was comfortable and convenient and I'd recommend it for a short stay. Things noted in the listing but worth reiterating: There is an internet hookup but no wireless access for a cellular device, and the bathroom is a shared space. Jan accommodated my request to check in an hour early (2:00 PM), which I appreciated. All in all a good value for a short stay.

    Lauren2017-09-09T00:00:00Z

Sweet, serene studio w private entry, big arched windows and deck. Located in a friendly, mellow neighborhood in west Asheville, walking distance to funky shops and restaurants.
Private entry to your own space, featuring comfortable queen bed, bathroom with shower, beautiful arched windows with blackout shades, sitting area with coffee, large ceiling fan, air conditioning. Attached to our home but private. Access to sitting area on deck, gardens and parking. Bed and bathroom both new in spring 2017 ;)
We live on 1/3 acre with large oak trees in a beautiful neighborhood. There is a park 5 minutes walk away and the West Asheville downtown is less than a mile walk away. Downtown Asheville within 10 min easy drive or uber. Bent Creek, the Arboretum and the Parkway are with 15 minutes for hiking and biking options.
  • The home was clean, safe, and quiet with fantastic natural light. A tree took down the power line the day of my arrival, so we didn't have electricity the first night, but they left me a very bright LED lantern and a flashlight and they checked to make sure I had everything I needed. The bed linens and pillows were comfy, and there was a snuggly down blanket left in case it got chilly. Luckily the power came back on the next morning, and the rest of my stay continued to be excellent. The location was easy to get around town. And their dog I met outside is the most ADORABLE & SWEET dog ever. I will definitely come back and stay here on my next trip to Asheville!

  • This place was PERFECT! I needed to get away for a few days and work on some projects. The beautiful touch of the "arch" windows were perfect for serenity and creativity. Extremely clean and the location is perfect as it's just a few minutes from bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. Totally staying here again!

    Rachel2018-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kathie was a fantastic host! The room was beautiful, clean and reasonably priced. West Asheville was the perfect neighborhood!

  • Loved the space! Excellent hosts!

    Kaitlyn2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Arch suite couldn't have been more perfect. After a long day of travel I arrived after dark at almost 11 pm. Kathie and her son greeted me after I disembarked from the cab and helped me with my bags to the suite. The space is thoughtfully and beautifully appointed, and spotlessly clean. I slept well and woke to a beautiful view of trees and birds singing. Walking to restaurants from here only takes about 15 minutes (I highly recommend Biscuit Head - but get there early on the weekend!) My transition from a days of travel to a 3 day retreat I'm attending outside of town was further enhanced with an acupuncture/acutone treatment that Kathie gave me in the suite in the afternoon. She is a wonderful healer and skilled acupuncturist. My only regret is that I'm not able to stay longer! Loved every moment. Can't recommend highly enough.

We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • Michelle's place is awesome! She warmly greeted us upon arrival and made sure that we had a fun and comfortable stay. Everything was clean and we loved the decorations :)

    Jessica2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bobby was a very friendly and excellent host. Had a collection of brochures ready for you of attractions and eating establishments in downtown Asheville, which is located only moments away. Room was comfortable and had a mini fridge with a Brita filter, which I appreciated. Was pleasantly greeted by a very adorable and friendly dog upon entering.

    Jessica2013-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Location was very convenient, 15-minute walk from downtown. Room and bathroom in basement, so a bit moist and buggy. Michelle was very nice and friendly and offered great suggestions for things to do around Asheville.

    Gabrielle2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's place was wonderfully located. We were able to check out some local breweries and then head out for a hike the next day. It was just a short visit, but Michelle's place was lovely.

    Amelia2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was an excellent host in that she let me book very last minute and show up within about 2 hours. The room is small and quaint, but very suitable if you simply need a comfortable bed and quiet room for a night. I also had lunch the following day at one of her recommendations and it was absolutely delicious-Chai Pani! Mmmmm mmmm!

    Jessica 2012-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just as listed, this was the perfect place for a one night stay in the heart of Asheville. Did not drive more than 5 min to get anywhere. Michelle was welcoming and the private entrance was a nice feature. Thanks!

    Bethany2014-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is as advertised. Convenient location a short drive to all of Asheville. Quiet neighborhood, clean space, and good bed. Michelle responded to texts fast and clearly so we had no problems at all.

    David2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great location, convenient to downtown (though not walking distance) and very homey. Michelle gave us great recommendations for food and hikes in the area.

Our very spacious, sunny, and newly finished basement apartment is part of our home, that we call Rancho54oh. It's close to the best that Asheville has to offer! It's the perfect home base for all your Asheville adventures.
This newly updated space offers a private entrance, lots of sunlight, tons of space, warm cork floors and and a cozy, modern vibe. Entry You have the option of parking in our rear driveway using the alley for access. This allows you private, off street parking and more direct access to the unit via a walkway to the door. The door is glass to optimize sunlight, and has a key entry. Kitchenette/Dining There is is a nicely equipped kitchenette that has all the basics- silverware, dishes, napkins, a new toaster oven, coffee maker, french press, sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle, wine opener, and a counter height dining table that seats four. Living Area The open and spacious living area has a large sofa that folds flat to become a bed that comfortably sleeps 2. There are also 2 upholstered chairs and a coffee table. The bookshelves hold an array of travel books and other info that will help you make the most of your Asheville experience, as well as other selected favorites for good vacation reads. There is also a non-functioning painted brick fireplace that adds ambience, with a raised hearth for extra seating. Hallway/Desk The open space adjacent to the living area has a very large desk for any work or art projects you may be into while on vacation, and a cool industrial cabinet that we use to store things. Bathroom The bathroom is just off the "hallway". It is very spacious and has brand new everything. It is a modern and bright space with a window well that adds natural light. The bathtub is great for a soak and there is a showerhead as well. The space is finished in ceramic tile. Bedroom The bedroom has a brand new plush queen bed with upholstered headboard. There is a dresser and hanging rack for clothes storage, and the comfiest leather chair you've ever lounged in. Again, this space is very large and has plenty of room for stretching out. A large window adds lots of natural light. Heat/Air Conditioning The space is heated and conditioned with 2 mini splits. One located in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. These are operated with remote controls and heat/cool the entire space very well. An electric radiator is available for use in winter if you so desire. I find it's nice to have in the bathroom. The Yard The access door to the apartment opens up to the large side yard that has a huge oak tree and poplar tree and lots of sunlight. You're welcome to hang out there if you like.
Our neighborhood is a great place full of friendly folks. We have lots of great neighbors that we know. The neighborhood embodies all the diversity that Asheville offers and is very mixed racially and economically. We are located on top of a large hill and can see the I26 bridge over the French Broad, downtown, and the mountains in the distance from our yard. We are a short walk to AB Tech Community College and Mission Hospital.
  • What a great space! My wife and I had a great time here, and it was very close to the places we wanted to see.

    Justin2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's place helped make our trip to Asheville a great vacation. Both Emily and Marcos were very accommodating and made check in a breeze. The space was immaculate and comfortable, with great attention to detail. River Arts District is within a few minutes walking, and New Belgium as well as South Slope are both within 5 minutes drive for anyone visiting breweries!

    Luis2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our mom's getaway in Asheville! Emily's apartment is really cute, modern and very clean. We especially liked the bathroom and the French press in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the sofa bed worked great for a third person. It was only a short drive to Asheville Downtown, which we liked as well. We would stay there again anytime.

    Miriam2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Emily and Marcos's apartment was wonderful. We love visiting Asheville and discovering new restaurants, funky shops and beautiful spots. This apartment offered easy access to River Arts and downtown. Definitely recommend staying here.

    Natalie2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Emily and Marcos were very nice!

    Lindsey2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s place was the perfect place for our two nights in Asheville. Her place was stylish, clean and comfortable. Very close to the River Arts District and a short drive to downtown. I would stay here again and highly recommend her as a host!

    Rhiannon2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The space was exactly as described and it is very nice. I did find the upstairs noise at times difficult to tune out (heavy footfall, running water, crying baby). If you are going to be out and about most of the time it should be fine not quite the spot for a quiet retreat. It is very close to downtown and all the shops, restaurants and attractions. Good location for exploring the city and the neighborhood is quiet urban with older homes and housing projects.

    Gail2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute place and super convenient to everything Asheville has to offer! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Directly on Haywood Road, within walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops, and all of the cool things that make Asheville great, come enjoy a newly remodeled private home in the heart of West Asheville. It's located less than 5 minutes to downtown, while biking/walking are convenient if you plan to stay in West Asheville. Includes private 6 person hot tub, custom double shower, private outdoor space with grill, king beds, fully stocked kitchen, high speed internet and a large smart TV.
The hot tub is now working! Welcome to Asheville, North Carolina! This is a historic home located directly on Haywood Road, with lots of modern updates. Designed and remodeled by an award winning contractor and I, we really wanted to bring back the original shine and actually restore it to give it a very retro feel, along with adding some unique updates and making it specifically catered to visitors of Asheville. It's very easy to walk to local places like BattleCat Coffee with the Tiger Bay cafe in the back, or Owl Bakery which has amazing brunch on Sunday. Pizza Mind is a short walk up to Beachums Corner, and The WALK, other shops, Taco Billy, antique stores, and some other really cool spots are on our little "east west" portion of the West side. New Belgium Brewing is about a 2 minute bike ride down the hill, although it's a little longer climbing back up... Archetype Brewery is a 30 second walk down the street, with Urban Orchard down a little further if you enjoy cider. BJ's is a gas station right up the street with a decent beer selection. Wine is available across the street from that at the Gas-Up. Oysterhouse, Sunny Point Cafe, Ingles grocery store, and other cool restaurants (I make my favorite recommendations in the house manual) are a bit further of a walk on Haywood, but still easy on a sunny day. We're less than a 5 minute uber/lyft ride to downtown Asheville, and less than 10 minutes to the Biltmore Estate. Every bedroom has a large memory foam king mattress, with the master bathroom having a large double shower with a window facing our bamboo forest. There's a 6 person hot tub in the fully fenced in outdoor patio, along with a hammock, grill, and outdoor seating. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook a meal and serve your friends and family. We wanted to preserve the mid-century modern feel of the original kitchen. Home includes washing machine and dryer, towels, linens, and some parking. There is room for two cars to park in the driveway, and more on street parking. We provide high speed internet, and Netflix and Sling (which is just like cable) on the smart TV, along with a futon for extra guests.
The neighborhood is right in the middle of everything in West Asheville, directly on Haywood Road. It's easy to walk to various restaurants, bars, shops, and we're super close to downtown. It's about as close to an urban oasis as you can get.
  • Great location in West Asheville & Shawn’s place is so unique! We had an awesome stay!

    Perri2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location in west Asheville (the better side of AVL) super cute and quirky house, amazing yard and super accessible to the neighborhood. Definitely saving this spot for my next trip down here. Thanks again to the hosts !

    Onslow2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely home, the cozy touches made all the difference. It felt more like staying at a friend's house but with the hospitable touches of a great hotel. A+! My friends and I loved that there were places on the same street we could eat and drink but the house was close enough that a quick uber took us right into town. Shawn and Savannah make sure you are comfortable and are quick to reply. My friends and I had an amazing time!

    Tessa2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to use as a home base for family getaway. Walkable to several great places to eat (many suggested by the host!). We had a nice stay and would recommend.

  • Great location in Asheville. Host was very quick to respond. Check in was super easy.

  • This place was absolutely perfect! The location is great. Everything you need is just a walk away, and it’s only a 5 minute drive downtown. The house was very clean and looked great inside. Awesome retro and colorful decor. The hot tub was a great bonus too! Will definitely stay again.

    Alexander2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an extraordinary stay here! The host is incredibly responsive and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome in Asheville. The hot tub was even heated when we arrived! Loved the decorations and recommendations, this is the perfect place.

    Mikey2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The outdoor space was great to hang out in and the inside of the house is even cuter than the pictures show. The beds and the futon were very comfortable and parking was easy. The location was absolutely perfect. There was lots of fun stuff within walking distance and it was only a short uber ride to downtown.

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center, Warren Wilson College 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with windows in each of its 4 rooms that offer various views of mountains, forested property, and the Swannanoa River. A sliding glass door in the living room and a glass door in the kitchen both open to your own deck. The hot tub is just a few steps down from the kitchen door on its own deck. Note that hosts do not use hot tub when guests are present. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” smart TV with Netflix, Prime, HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, Hulu, etc. The huge master bedroom with a king-size bed opens - via a wide doorway (no door - see photos) - to the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and dinnerware, and includes a dining table for two.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • Miriam did a great job of making us feel welcome. When we first arrived we found a nice post card that addressed the specific activities we were interested in when we booked. There was also a journal from previous guests with local attractions that they enjoyed. The apartment was very clean and very functional. Miriam left us a stocked fridge with some light breakfast foods and juices, and the coffee selection was great. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a place near Asheville.

    Jared2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam and Patrick's place was exactly what we needed. Very secluded, but still close to everything. Huge private downstairs, with one of the most comfiest beds I have slept on. We used the hot tub on our last night there and was perfect! Nice big deck that you can view and hear the creek from. If we come back to Asheville to vacation again I will be sure to book this place again. Thank you so much!

    Beau2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Miriam and Patrick's house. We got to spend tranquil, slow mornings drinking coffee on the porch, and then take a quick drive to explore Asheville or the nearby mountains. The apartment was completely private and it was almost like staying at a spa. They had a huge stack of brochures of places to go and things to do, which we used to plan our days. It was overall an absolutely lovely time.

    Francesca2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Miriam and Patrick's home was amazing! The apartment was beautiful, the property was serene, and overall a relaxing environment for a getaway. We appreciated the resources about activities and places to eat in Asheville, which we definitely utilized during our stay. Mountain Views over the River will be our must stay in our future Asheville trips!

    Jessica2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Just as most people report, this is a beautiful, spacious, well stocked apt with a knockout view of the Blue Ridge mountains. An excellent hot tub on the deck calls out to be used. The hosts are lovely people and helpful if there are questions, such as my query about live music places in the area. Coffee, bagels and cream cheese, and oj are provided. Great place and highly recommended.

    Brian2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first ever Airbnb experience and after staying at Mountain Views over the River for three lovely nights the bar has been set VERY high for future stays elsewhere! Miriam and Patrick went above and beyond with their attention to detail and it was so fun to keep finding comforts and conveniences around every corner of the apartment! They truly thought of everything we could need from make-up remover towelettes to umbrellas in case of a rainy day. From the moment we walked in everything was so fresh, clean, and beautifully decorated! The welcome book made it easy to understand just how close we were to the best restaurants nearby and hikes right off of the Blue Ridge Parkway (entrance only 2 miles away!). We enjoyed the quiet view of the stars from the hot tub with the relaxing sound of the river just down the hill and when we wanted to head Downtown it was an easy 10-15 minute drive. Some of our favorites from this quick trip were Highland Brewery, Buxton Hall Barbecue, White Duck Taco, and all the galleries in the River Arts District. Miriam and Patrick were always an easy text away in case we needed anything and they were nice enough to print out the tickets we needed for a show Downtown one night! I would highly recommend choosing Mountain Views over the River if you're looking for a private, comfortable stay that's still close to all the Asheville to-dos! Happy traveling!! -Robin and Ben

    Ben2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Wow! Wow! What a great experience. My husband and I were on a mini vacation for our anniversary and decided to try Airbnb for the first time! We are hooked! Miriam and Patrick met us when we arrived and made us feel most welcome. We were very impressed with the accommodations (even had bagels/muffins, fresh flowers, and a sweet note welcoming us and wishing us a happy anniversary). Plenty of room and the location was fantastic. Can't wait to go back! Thanks again Miriam and Patrick! You were the hostesses with the mostest!

    Melinda2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a retreat close to downtown Asheville, but still far enough to enjoy the scenery and tranquility of the mountains -- this is the place. Miriam and Patrick could not have been more accommodating, and the serenity of the apartment itself transcends the images.

The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Our driveway accommodates up to 10 cars so you can easily park your car here and take a $9 LYFT or Uber Downtown. Utopia is gifted with abundant breath-taking wildlife such as black bears, bobcats, wild turkeys, groundhogs and rabbits amongst a few so please drive slowly, keep your eyes out for creatures crossing the road (they were here first) and take a look at our impressive collection of videos on UTUBE at CardinalsInn.
Our favorite dinner restaurants are the Admiral in West Asheville and the Bull & Beggar in the River Arts District for which we recommend reservations but you might find a couple of seats around the bar to order a selection of fabulous plates. Lunch time we are partial to Chai Pani's Indian Street Food which i take with no spices and Doc Chey's is ideal on a tight budget but arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat.
  • Marc and Fay are amazing hosts! Second stay in a different room and another wonderful experience. Wonderful rate for an experience of a lifetime! Its a must stay from the comfy bed, hot tub, to beautiful art everywhere! We will be back!

    Jessica (Jess)2018-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at the air stream! Thank you to Mark & Fay for going above and beyond to make it exceptional.

    Pamela2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The is the second time we have stayed with these SUPER HOSTS!!! Every detail that one needs to have a brilliant stay is seen and taken to a level of creativity and beauty that is breathtaking. We stayed at Utopia this trip and the place is beyond spectacular! Amazing talent and skill went into creating this AirBnB masterpiece.

    Deborah2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in the airstream this weekend celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Marc and Fay were exceptional hosts. Accommodations exceeded our expections and the homemade croissants and jams made by Marc were wonderful. Make sure you purchase some jams and chocolates to take home and enjoy. This was our first Airbnb experience and they have set the bar. We will definitely be returning guests.

    Michael2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for something creative and different for a place to stay, I highly recommend staying at ANY of Marc and Fay's B&B's. The MASTER was amazingly beautiful, creating an environment for fun and fantasy. The room had miles of beauty and creativity. They didn't miss any details! Fay was impeccable in her timely communication and clear instructions. There are a few other rooms in the same location, but the environment was always quiet and lovely. They were amazingly helpful with information whether you were looking for a place to eat, shop, local walking trails, etc. We also love that they support small businesses! We absolutely will return to one of Marc and Fay's B&B's when we visit Asheville again.

    Joy2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing. Could not have asked for better hosts! The breakfasts were so good! All of the conversations we had were pleasant. Can not wait to go back! That airstream is the coolest thing ever! Take it from me, you have to stay there on your next trip to Ashville! We are already trying to plan a trip back and really want to stay with them again. :)

    Nicholas2015-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • If this property is available, don't miss this experience!! Marc and Fay are the most wonderful hosts! They are so warm and welcoming and communicating with Fay was so easy. We had a beautiful stay in the Airstream which exceeded expectations and their attention to detail is second to none. I cannot say how great the entire experience was. The location is amazing. You feel like you're miles away from the world but can be downtown in less than 10 minutes and the views are stunning from the hot tub. From the delicious breakfast to the hot tub and every thoughtful touch they have put into their property, this has been over the top. We look forward to staying with Marc and Fay again.

There is also a cat that lives upstairs with me and we do share the air via AC/heat vents. There are also two very sweet semi-feral kitties that live in the garage. Please do not book if you have an extreme allergy to cats as I cannot guarantee if you'll react or not. Fully equipped kitchen (with an added microwave now) with stainless steel ware (no telfon!), pots/pans/drinking glasses/mugs organic cream, olive oil/balsamic/sea salt/pepper and a few things in fridge welcome to all. NOTE: fridge in pic has been changed to a smaller dorm sized one (with some freezer space). It has a stove, dishwasher and small mini fridge with a good sized freezer. The couch and chair are a white cotton chenille from Pottery Barn (so not synthetic). There is also an Austin Air filter (one of the best kinds) in the space and gives the added benefit of white noise if you need. (but it is very quiet here as it is). You have access to laundry (washer and dryer) in the garage which is just off your apt. There is a brand new 32" flat screen smart TV with Netflix to stream from and other kind of channels on smart TV (not cable or antennae). (note: the TV in the picture was damaged and replaced with a new 32"). In addition to the sheets and pillow cases, I also wash the duvet cover after each guests (this is so important to me when traveling) and you get (of course) many fresh towels under the sink. Most everything you need is here - including papertowels, tooth floss, cotton balls, Q tips, pens, paper etc. Extra blankets in the foot stool. I am chemically sensitive and have a hard time when I travel due to fragrance and toxic chemicals used in cleaning products and am happy to offer this to those like me (or anyone for that matter!). It is a strict rule that you also are CHEMICAL FREE while staying here. Synthetic chemicals linger for weeks and settle into furniture and this is geared for those who wish for a healthy chemical free environment. I only use green, effective, and non-toxic products in laundry, cleaning, bath and kitchen. Essential oils are ok and some of the products I offer have essential oils in them - for totally scent free products, please just request as I have these too. You will also be provided with a selection of shampoos/conditioners and other bodycare items to use - all natural (no harsh chemicals). I also provide 1 gallon of filtered water for your stay to get you started before you can get to the store if you only drink filtered water, granola bars, and organic coffee and tea and a bottle of red. The apt is in the lower half of my house and is a private and complete living space - the stairs that connect are not used - doors stayed locked and shut. I live upstairs and practically tip toe when I walk - so you don't get much if any overhead noise. This is a quiet place with no road noise...only the sounds of birds ! While it's officially a basement apt, it doesn't feel that way as the ceiling are high and you have windows with great sun. The apt is not "underground".
I love this neighborhood due to its country feel, but within walking distance to many things.
  • Great host and space in a residential area. She made us feel welcome and provided coffee - always a plus! Close proximity to shops and restaurants and Susan provided lots of good suggestions for places to go.

  • Convenient; exactly as pictured! Cozy place that was super clean. We walked to several restaurants, and a close drive to anywhere else in Asheville too.

  • It was an idyllic setting near a wooded area. The neighborhood was very quiet and family-oriented. It was such a pleasure to be able to stay in an environment that was free of scented products and chemicals that can bother our health. The host had left us spring water and a bottle of wine for our pleasure. The place was very clean and cozy. It was close to some great places to eat and to downtown Asheville. Check out Sunny Pointe Cafe for great gluten free options and local produce. You won't be disappointed.

  • Susan's rental was a perfect Ashville oasis! It was conveniently located for walking to nearby restaurants and stores, but we didn't feel like we were in an urban setting. We stayed one week and hated to leave! The constant activity at the bird feeder outside the kitchen window provided a terrific morning show! Susan was very welcoming, and all the wonderful bath products provided a heavenly aromatic experience! If you like to walk and love architecture, be sure to visit the Montford neighborhood--a short drive away! We can understand why Susan is rated a top host on Airbnb! Jack & Terry

  • Great, clean place. Within walking distance to restaurants, breweries and the river. Elizabeth has been a very friendly host. We will be back!

  • This was a great place to stay! Sunny open apartment with a nice little patio. Elizabeth was a great host and paid thoughtful attention to every detail. The location is close to many things in West AVL and the place was an outstanding value. Looking forward to another stay there.

  • This was a great place to stay! It's nested in a quiet neighborhood, yet still in the River Arts District. Susan was very friendly, and even left us a bottle of wine! The natural soaps she has available are great. We loved taking walks in the fall weather to all the great restaurants in the area. It's also a very quick drive to downtown. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay.

We were greeted warmly at the door and given a tour of the house and our room. Our stay was short so we did not get the opportunity to spend time with our hosts. The room/bed/bathroom was comfortable and clean. We would recommend to others and return ourselves.

Hun was an excellent host. To start, he was very responsive and easily reached from the moment we selected his AirBnB. The day we drove out, we had car trouble and traffic delays, yet he was completely understanding as we went arrival time updates and was very welcoming despite us being late. He had hosted a lovely mid-autumn festival that evening so he let us sample the treats which was a welcome and sweet surprise after 10 hours in the car. The house is beautiful and has endless points of interest while still being sleek and modern. The bed and bedroom were serene and made for just the night's rest we needed to get back on the road the next day. There were great restaurants that were less than a 10 minute walk away from his house, too. Highly recommend this spot and Hun as a host.

This was by far the best airbnb experience we have had. It is no wonder Patricia is a super host. Patricia plans for the unexpected by having a key available at the house guest can access in case it doesn't work out for them to be there at arrival. The apartment is decorated as one would decorate for their own home sparing no expense. There were an awesome 6 pillows on the bed. Finally a place with enough pillows for us!!!! The beds were super comfortable. Patricia thought of everything. Everything we needed was there. She had a keureg type coffee maker but also had a regular coffee maker. There was a fan available in a closet which my husband always needs to sleep. There were muffins and plenty of fruit for breakfast. Plenty of waters and cokes in the fridge. The outdoor area was so pleasant too, especially the swing in the gazebo! We will definitely come back if and when we come back to the area!!!!
