Food Scene

This is easily my favorite restaurant in all of the city! It's close proximity to the house, has been open for over 20 years, and is still run by the original owner. It's a hole in the wall and complete gem. Try the J7, C3, K8, or K11. Everything is great, but these are some of my favorites.

It's within walking distance of the house and a great after dinner dessert. These aren't just any popsicles, these things are made with real fruits. There are also cream based pops that are similar to ice cream.

This award winning coffee shop is within walking distance of the house. This is Sunergos' main location where all of their beans are roasted. Stop by and watch if you have the time, try the Blend B coffee, my fave! Also, there's a little known secret that one of the tables has a drawer full of enlightening words left by others. Leave your own mark.

This is my favorite pizza spot in the whole city. I don't know what it is about the Super Pizza (w/ thin crust, add banana peppers) but it's the only pizza I care to eat anymore. Nothing else compares. This is a little known spot even to locals.

This place is known for their weekend brunch, but to be honest, I just go for their hand made ramen. Very reasonably priced and the staff is by far the friendliest in Louisville. If you meet Greg or Emily (she's the owner) tell them that your friends of Jamie and Dustin King. Did I mention they also have the best gin and tonics in the city?

Parks & Nature

This is Louisville's biggest park, designed by Frederick Olmsted himself! You know, the same one that designed Central Park in New York. Make your way to the top of the park for the BEST view of the city. You can also catch a movie or concert at the amphitheater, just check out their schedule.
