I will introduce you to many of the cats and dogs that we live with and care for in the Moda neighborhood. We’ll start our journey by going to a local store to buy some treats for them. (They don’t like every brand so it’s better I show you which to buy). Then, we’ll explore Moda’s vibrant streets in search of our furry-friends. You’ll learn their stories, routines, and meet their buddies and alliances. Who knows? Maybe you will be rewarded with a tiny nose kiss! You will also get to know how they have become such an important part of our community. Moda is a lively, artsy, and close-knit community that has taken an entirely new approach to the care of its street cats and dogs. Our focus has been to ‘adopt’ stray animals as a community- not as individuals- to tag and feed our four-legged friends, to provide medical help when needed, and of course to shower them with love and affection. We will meet in Kadıköy and will be using Nostalgic Tram to see around. We will be tasting great street food (mussel dolma, fried mussel, kokoreç, Turkish beer, baklava) in Kadıköy open bazaar where locals eat and shopping . Then I will show you murals, antique flea market, historical neighbourhoods and local life by walking. I am a sociologist so I can inform you about Turkish people and society. I am interested in photography so I will show you the best spots for photography in Kadıköy. MEZZES are a form of presentation in which seafood, legumes and vegetables cooked with olive oil are served on small plates. The knowledge inherited from the civilizations that lived on the Anatolian lands dating back 12.000 years, was later blended with the cuisines of the Greek, Armenian and Jewish peoples whom we lived with, turned into a colorful mosaic, while being influenced by the cuisines of Central Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans. We will share with you the history of these landmarks. The environment that we created represent our style, cosy, organic, fun and comfortable. We'll see a football game together and experience how Turkish fans in Turkey live football. We will witness the passion, customs, and meaning of supporting a team in Istanbul. We'll see the colorful fans, hear the sound of the drums, sing the songs, and hopefully taste a victory! From the meeting point until the stadium we will be doing what Turkish fans do. We will walk to places where they paint with club colors, have a beer or soda where they drink and hopefully, we will be singing their pre-game songs together with them. Thanks to my experience with these games inside and outside Turkey, I can guarantee you that I exactly know what a fan needs before, during, and after the game. I, personally, will be your guide during the whole experience. I will be next to you the whole game giving you hints for making your experience better. **Please note I do not have expertise about the history of the mosques and buildings I'm purely a local living in the area and want to show you this lovely neighbourhood...** The days adventure will begin when we meet at Uskudar ferry terminal. Here you will spot traditional Ottoman mosques and get a feel for the hustle and bustle in this Istanbul neighbourhood. From here we will make our way to Kuzguncuk. Kuzguncuk district has the distinct beauty and unique ambience of a village with its historical buildings and boutique cafes, and we will have an opportunity to take breakfast. We will also walk up a hill to take in a fantastic view across the Bosphorus, from here we will be able to see the first bridge connecting Europe to Asia.
