Wow! What an incredibly special home. The care in its construction is clear, the way it fits into and celebrates the surroundings is incredibly special. The home by itself is worth the visit, and so are the gorgeous surroundings. It’s also fantastically located to explore the Peninsula, with essentially every point within a 35 minute drive at the most. Many, far nearer, and some within walking distance. I also can’t say enough about the hosts. They created an extremely comfortable experience, providing numerous suggestions on things to do and places to go, and gave the home just enough personal touches to make it feel welcoming. Cannot wait to come back!

Felt like home away from home. Highly recommended Very nice property clean and tidy. Great communication. Close enough to central eod selfoss but in a nice and quiet area. it is about an hour away from Reykjavík and it is 1 hour 40 min to Vik helping to break up the golden circle.

Swany’s beautiful home is more than an Airbnb, it’s an experience. First the setting. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a more beautiful place in the world. Looking across the fjord at the snow capped mountains, watching the boats go by and hoping for a glimpse of a humpback whale. Just incredible. Our accommodations in the main house were perfect for our family of five. The rooms were comfortable, and the bathroom was large and pristine. We had such a fun time meeting the other travelers and sharing a kitchen with fellow adventures from Canada and Australia. If Swany’s place is available for your travel dates, do yourself a favor and book it as soon as possible. I would return to Iceland specifically to go to Hauganes and Sela Retreat. Beautiful place to stay, especially during winter time. Really magical landacapes. Apartament is located close to the sea and amazing fjords. Totally worth it.

Séjour inoubliable avec nos 2 filles dans une vallée au bout du monde sous la neige, accueillis par Mickael aussi chaleureux que l’ambiance de son chalet. Si vous aimez les grands espaces à l’écart de la civilisation, ce lieu est fait pour vous. Aurores boréales le premier soir, baleines à Davlik, bains chauds à la piscine de Davlik et des balades enneigées. Nous repartons enchantés. Merci Mickael.

Super petit logement, bien placé pour faire le sud de l'île, il est vraiment très bien équipé et très propre ! Le lit pour la 5eme personne est un peu petit pour un grand ado comme les nôtres.

Our stay in Öxnadalur was one of the most impressive we’ve ever had. The house was charming and we felt immediately at home. The surrounding nature and view on the mountains is breathtaking! We spent hours sipping coffee at the fire place, while the wind and snow were howling outside or watching beautiful northern lights right in front of the door. Sif and Oli were always very helpful when we were asking for any help or recommendations. It is definitely worth a visit and a real adventure in winter times.

This was our first time in Iceland, and staying at Dóra’s home was such a unique and worthwhile experience. My family settled in right away and we all agreed it was hard to go when it was our time to leave. There are beautiful artistic touches throughout the home, and every floor offers a different experience. I enjoyed learning about the history of the house, and the amount of recent work that has gone into preserving its spirit. Thank you for such a memorable experience-we are all so grateful!

Geweldig verblijf! Wij vonden het nog mooier en groter dan op de foto's. Hele mooie omgeving en in het huis is alles wat je nodig hebt: keukengerei, een wasmachine, vaatwasser, babybedje en nog veel meer. Ik zou het iedereen aanraden!
