This is a beautiful place to hang out. If you are interested in going to the Ahwahnee Dining Room please know that they have a dress code and highly recommend making a reservation. I recommend going to their Sunday brunch.
Expensive, excellent food, go to the bar for great old-fashioned drinks and less-but-still-expensive pub eats, or bring a ties & jacket (men) and have an amazing meal in an iconic historic restaurant.
The Ahawanee Hotel is a Yosemite Classic and offers the only fine dining in the Valley. Worth a visit for a nice drink or a formal meal in the fancy dining room.
Dating from 1927, this historic, landmark hotel is set on a valley floor with views of Half Dome, Glacier Point and Yosemite Falls. It's 1.5 miles from Yosemite Village. Worth a look-see.
Fancy dinning - need reservations. Or grab some tea / coffee / wine and drink it in their beautiful public areas or on the back lawn.

“Drive out Glacier Point Road from the Yosemite Cabin. We recommend stopping at Taft Point for the 1-mile, low-angle hike out to the most stunning views of El Capitan and other special features in the Valley. Not many tourists do this! ”

“Original old hotel with great food. Look (and listen) for piano player Tom Bopp who is an outstanding performer.”

“Hike 2.2 miles/3.5 km round trip: Sentinel Dome is at the upper end of the easy category, due to the short but steep foray up the side of the dome to the summit. Once there, though, you'll find 360 degrees of view encompassing Yosemite Valley, the high Sierras, and (on unusually clear days) the coastal range. ”
