“The MAS is a huge museum with over 10 floors of exhibitions areas. You can always enter the building for free until 00.00 (apr-nov) and 22.00 (nov-mar) and get a 360° panoramic view of Antwerp on the rooftop. The design of the building is also one of the crazy architectural challenges Antwerp is experimenting with since the past decade. Around the MAS there are many restaurants and bars you can go to. The areas around the MAS are upcoming are getting really popular. You won’t miss the Yachts embarked there either ”

“The maiden house fits in with the other 16th/17th century museums in Antwerp. However, while the other museums mostly focus on paintings or printed books, here the history of the maiden house itself takes center stage. The building is not as nicely decorated as the other museums, since the orphans were probably raised in modest circumstances. Nevertheless, the chapel is quite nice to see, with some huge paintings that give an impression of what life here may have been like. To me another highlight are the 16th century and other old documents. The inner court is also quite nice. I think they should be able to elaborate more on the history of the building... ”
