Osteria del Matto is a Spoleto institution, the hospitality of Filipo and his mother is legendary. Be prepared for a very special experience, the restaurant is tiny with just a few tables, so expect to share a table if you are not in a group - normal etiquette in Italy. A menu does not exist, they simply prepare dishes from produce which is best on the day. Many courses will be presented and the food matched with good local wines. Dining at Matto is like a private party with Filipo in his element as the gregarious host. If you dine in the evening, you will be expected to stay until the end, when he brings out the digestivi and starts spinning his favourite discs - then the dancing begin!
