A nice park close to the zoo. You can chill at a cafe facing the water, ride a paddling boat, feed the ducks, or simply walk around nice scenery. I recommend paying it a visit if the weather is nice.

Houston's Central Park, complete with zoos, museums and an outdoor theater company.
Houston’s prized gem. Full of outdoor fun with the Houston Zoo, walking trails, and bicycles for rent. Go early, parking is a nightmare. You can park in Ben Taub for a fee and walk.

“We have an amazing zoo here in Houston and if you are coming with family I recommend checking it out. There is also a little place to rent paddle boats for pretty cheap right outside the zoo. ”

“NRG is where the Texans play. There are tons of concerts and events year-round. The venue is also where the rodeo is held every year. You can walk a few blocks down and catch the train over to NRG or take an $8-10 Uber ride. ”

“This museum has it all – a dinosaur hall, planetarium, IMAX theater, and butterfly exhibit. I’ve always enjoyed the gemstone collection. Parking can be a nightmare since the zoo is close-by. I’d Uber there instead.”
