Covering an area of almost 1000 hectares, the Amsterdamse Bos is one of the largest city parks in Europe. It contains 150 indigenous species of trees and over 200 species of birds. The park sits to the South of central Amsterdam and can easily be reached by bike, tram or metro from the city center.
My favorite place for a Sunday picnic. Spend the day under the trees, reading a book and swimming in the river..
'Forest' Amsterdam style, meaning very small to be called a forest. Go for a walk or run, look at the rowing tournaments on most weekends, have a Dutch pancake or go pet some baby goats, whatever you are in for ;)
a surprisingly large and quiet "forest park" on the southern outskirts of the city, perfect to relax after a few days of intense tourism
Nice to cycle through. Yan can sit on a rug or picnic here in the summer and there are several paddling pools.
My garden! Just walk out of the door and you will be in the Amsterdam Woods. A place where you can walk and have some great pancakes
