The oldest operating cooperative restaurant in the United States! 40+ years of good, inexpensive food and a laid-back atmosphere. Breakfast, lunch, tea & coffee. Counter service (not table). Walking distance from Royal Blue!

Great outdoor seating. Mostly/all vegetarian restaurant with plenty of vegan options. Good baked goods.

This local favorite is good for vegans on a budget. It's a bit grungy, and all the staff are painted with tattoos and piercings. Bottomless coffee or tea make it a good spot to camp out and get wired.

A laid back atmosphere. One of the best vegetarian and vegan restaurants in the twin cities. It is a co-op with a friendly and interesting mix of young bohemians. No table service. You order at the counter and they call your name for pickup. It's our go-to place for biscuits and gravy and veggie burgers and sandwiches. They also serve beer and wine. Happy hour from 3pm to 6pm daily and again at 9pm.

Wonderfully off-beat neighborhood cafe that is incredibly chill. Best patio. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. BREAKFAST menu is the best! A few miles west, across the river.
