Great live music in a historical area.

At first glance, many people find Convention Hall fairly ordinary. Perhaps I was one of those people. But then I learned about its history, and all the great Rock and Roll artists that performed here. To name a few: Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd - the list goes on and on. But perhaps most of all, NJ native Bruce Springsteen, who held rehearsals at Convention Hall for some time, open to the public and over holidays. The large lighted sign on the front of the convention center reads "Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J." in homage to Springsteen's 1973 debut album. Now it's one of my favorite places to stroll through and have a coffee or ice cream.

Great food, boutiques, family fun, colorful nightlife and one of the best live music scenes at the Jersey Shore, all in one place, tucked neatly along a historic beach.
