perfect if you want to get away from some of the crowds but still have a beautiful lake to swim and play at. they rent kayaks and SUP as well as dog friendly, just get there early or no spots will be left in the parking lot. bring cash or a check to pay the parking fee.

Angora lake is located up a winding road above Fallen Leaf Lake. The parking lot is small and is cash only $6. There is also a short hike from the parking lot but it is worth it. Just don’t bring too much stuff! Swimming is free (water is cold snow melt!) and boats and paddle boards can be rented.

This is a great hike and leads to a beautiful swimming lake during the summer that includes small cabins and a great snack store. If you go high enough on the trail (past the store), you can see an Angora Lake, Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe all from your vista point.

“highest peak on lake Tahoe. great hike if you have not done it yet, about 9 miles round trip, lots of elevation gain on a rocky path. 3 smaller lakes to stop at then the climb up to get amazing views of emerald Bay and lake Tahoe. ”
