A small, but beautiful nature spot to enjoy a view of the waterway and stroll through the woods. Great for young children.

A quiet little park on the intracoastal waterway. Good for fishing or just getting out in to nature. It's tucked away and somewhat small but you would miss it if you didn't know it was there! I like to get food from the nearby Public Super Market and have a picnic.

Get hands-on with Oak Island conservation at Oak Island Nature Center. Nestled just next to the Intracoastal Waterway, it is the perfect place to let the kids play and explore while area volunteers share a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife that makes their home along the ICW. The Nature Center is part of the complex known as Malcolm Register Park. The entire park was built in approximately 2005/2006 and consists of a Picnic Pavilion, a Fishing Pier, Floating Dock, the Dot Kelly Butterfly Garden, and the Nature/Learning Center.
