A 13th century military fortification that's just a brief walk away from the core of the city's center. The historic building is free to enter, and you can explore the fortress' grounds as you please to enjoy a little time capsule of Bergen's history. Open from 06:00-23:00. The fortress has its own museums and other events, which have their own opening times and prices.

Bergen Fortress is beautiful and strategically located at the entrance to Vågen in Bergen. This is one of the oldest and best preserved fortresses in Norway.

One of the oldest, and best kept fortresses of Norway. The fortress contains buildings dating as far back as the 1240s, as well as later constructions built as recently as World War II!
