The hiking trail near the entrance to the Marina at lake Mead offer a great oppurtunity to walk up to a higher elevation to see stunning views of Lake Mead and walk inside railroad tunnels (inactive).

This is about 30min away. It's a must see for thrill seekers. If you have a rental car I would suggest visiting. In recent days a reservation was needed (simple) by visiting the lake mead national recreational park website

This is a great, easy walk/hike/bike/stroller trail. It leads you through a series of historic railroad tunnels, and eventually ends at Hoover Dam. In summer months, I don't advise hiking in the desert after 8 AM or before 5 PM. Bring lots of water!
