Tuolumne is one of the best places to visit to hike, fish and explore in Yosemite. It’s only accessible for a few month during the summer. It is located on Tioga pass road on the 120.

45 minute drive to Tuolumne Meadows, in park in 25 min. Yosemite Valley is a 2.5 hour drive. Tioga Pass (east side gate) is open form July-Oct. Every year is different depending on the snow level.

Located in the eastern section of Yosemite, Tuolumne Meadows is a gentle, dome-studded sub-alpine meadowy section of the Tuolumne River. Great place for day hikes. About 72 miles from our cabin.

Hike 2 miles/3.2 km round trip: There's no place like a meadow for chilling out, and this one is Yosemite's best. Just meander around the trails and soak up the sun (it feels good when you're at 8,500 feet/2,550 meters elevation) and enjoy the wildflowers and the river and the deer and the granite…

When it's hot and crowded in the Yosemite Valley, we head to Tuoloumne Meadows to hike, climb, walk and enjoy the cooler temperatures and smaller crowds. There are beautiful granite domes all through Tuoloumne, which makes the drive stunning... even if you don't get out of your car.

“2.5 mile/4 km loop: If you've ever wanted to step into a postcard, come to Tenaya Lake. The lake is beautiful enough by itself, but it's also got beaches along the eastern and western shores and is surrounded by striking granite domes and peaks.”
