Located in the Old City this is a peaceful location and of significant importance to the local buddhist community which in Thailand is the vast majority all of the local Thai population. When visiting a temple shorts should not be worn inside the temple buildings, shoes removed also. It's fine to take pictures. Nearby in the old City there are plenty of little restaurants serving local cuisine, coffee shops, guest houses and shops. It has a nice relaxed feel there. There is usually a bit of traffic as the roads are narrower but nothing moves too quickly. Be surprised how quickly lunch time seems to come around :)
