This sweet, small historic property gives you a good idea of early Austin, when France sent an ambassador (albeit once they wanted to get rid of) to the Republic of Texas. Tours and small museum.

Possibly the oldest house in Austin, this was the where France made their home in the Republic of Texas.

This is one of the oldest structures in Austin, and its grounds are just gorgeous. It's full of history, plus natural beauty. A great spot to take a picnic.
