There are two options for walking in The Redwoods. Walk the Redwoods Grove or other longer Whakarewarewa Forest walks on the ground. Check out the options in the Redwoods Visitors Centre. The Redwoods treewalk gives a viewpoint from up the trees. This option is particularly spectacular at night,…

“Te Puia spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Valley, on the edge of town. It is the home to the world famous Pohutu geyser, to mud pools, hot springs, to silica formations to the Kiwi bird and the national schools of wood carving, weaving, stone and bone carving. Te Puia shared these treasures with manuhiri (visitors) for 170 years and proudly continue that legacy today.”
