Not a real beach, but as close as you'll get in the centre of a city! definitely worth a visit to cool off if you are in town.

Streets Beach (in Southbank) is a man-made swimming beach overlooking the Brisbane River and CBD, and is Australia’s only inner city beach. It features a crystal clear lagoon with calm water, white sandy beaches, palm trees and pebbled creeks. Nearby are barbeques, sheltered tables and green lawns that are perfect if you want to stay for lunch or dinner.
