During nice summer days the lake and the parks around it get crowded by local Rotterdam people/students who lay and enjoy the sun, or make barbecue, or take a bath in the beach at the west side of the lake

A nice get-away near the center is the Kralingse Plas. It has a little beach and plenty of green space to relax. On warm summer days, the park is full of multi-cultural families with BBQ's and picknick baskets. Very nice atmosphere.

Have a wonderful time running or riding around the park on a bicycle. There are multiple spots for outdoor sports activities, a beach and several restaurants. There's a small zoo on the northern side.

There's a lot to do in this parc; sailing/ bootcamp/ running/ biking/ eat or drink at the Boathouse

Very nice park, also possible to rent a sail boat, The THUIN, very nice restaurant at the water site, also you can park for free, and you can have a bbq in the park and even swimming in the water.
