The Canteen is in the Hotwalls and does the most delicious food. We have only ever been here for lunch (it closes at 6pm) and always been lucky enough to sit outside on the balcony overlooking the harbour. We must try the breakfast!
It's a really lovely location. The cafe is built into one of the towers that form part of Henry VIII's fortifications of the town. It has a few outside seats which provide a lovely view of the harbour entrance. They also provide blankets if it's a bit chilly.
Nestled away in the corner of Old Portsmouth, within an iconic fort is this lovely cafe, by day and restaurant by night. Historical yet stylish setting with great views across the Solent.

“Right on the seafront a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the view. On a really sunny day the roof rolls back and in the winter the wood burner is going and it's really cosy. Another one of our absolute favs!”
