When not able to make Cade’s Cove Gatlinburg, this is my next best. SereneFlint River meanders through the preserve with paved or natural walking paths for hiking or biking, which runs for miles. Cross over the bridge and enjoy the river beneath. May even see a kayaker or two. Locals love fishing at Hays. There is also a pond close to entrance from which you can fish. Don’t forget your fishing license if fishing in the river! Two entrances available. Highway 431 South is 4 miles from Cedar Cove. Old Highway 431 -1 mile from CC currently closed to widen bridges and add bike/walking lane.
