With New Zealand's highest Peak surrounded by glaciers this is a stunning spot all year round. There are some interesting walk perhaps the best of which is to watch the ice bergs in the moraine lakes at the end of the glaciers. Lake Pukaki next to Mt Cook is the most stunning turquoise colour.
