Everyone has heard of Prada, and the brand makes a real statement with this building. The classy, all-glass boutique in the upmarket Aoyama district manages to make glass look warm and welcoming, and the architecture of the building is photogenic from all sides. While the six-story building is amazing in the day, its facade at night is not to be missed. It seems to come alive with an intricate lighting system that makes it look like it’s pulsating to a heartbeat.

The Prada building, just south of the Omotesando intersection in Minami Aoyama is a spectacular, six stories of "insect-eye" glass designed by Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, built in 2003 at a cost of US$80 million.
