Just like Lady Mac, I can say that I hiked it. Apparently a lot of trail work has been done on this hike, but I have never been brave enough to go back up. I can say this, the views are unbeatable.

Difficult hiking trail but stunning views - worth the climb. Recommend for individuals who are in good physical health.

Ha Ling Peak is a 7.2 kilometer heavily trafficked out and back trail that features a river and is rated as difficult (748m elevation gain). It offers stunning views of Canmore and the mountain valley. If you look southbound in town you can see the scooping saddle shape of Ha Ling.

This is the most iconic and accessible hike out of Canmore and provides amazing views of the Bow Valley. You could take kids up it too since its a shorter hike. The first half up is forest trail and the second half above the tree line was recently improved to incorporate a number of staircases. The staircases make the too much easier to scale. For a regular Joe and Jane this hike will take 3-4 hours total.
