Echo Park is a neighborhood in central Los Angeles, California, just outside of Downtown LA. The culturally diverse neighborhood has become known for its trendy local businesses, The neighborhood is centered on the lake and park of the same name.
Only open summer/fall but fun to drive around and if you like waterfall, Glen Alpine Falls is easy access if you can find parking on the road.
This gem is a 4-mile drive from the cabin. You can take a picnic lunch, do a little hiking, take a ferry to the backside of the lake, and take a walk on the PCT trail. Make this part of your adventure and you won’t regret it. :)
Echo Lake is one of my favorite summer hikes. About 30 mins from our Cottage off hwy. 50, on the way to South Lake Tahoe. This is a good starting point for people who have some hiking experience but aren't prepared to do more than a one-day hike.
