The Centre of New Zealand, on Botanical Hill at the start of the Maitai Valley, is an iconic walk in Nelson Tasman.
For a short walk in town take a small hike up the Centre of New Zealand for views of the city.
Walk via the Grampians Reserve track or along Waimea Rd into town. Great views over the city from the platform. This is a MUST do for everyone visiting Nelson.
Take a walk up the hill to the "Centre of NZ". Views across the city. At the base of the hill is Botanic Park, site where the first rugby game was played in NZ.
Just outside of the CBD, on our doorstep- is a 40 minute walk to the top of the Centre of NZ with views across the city and region. Great wee experience. OR you could bike ride the track.
