Tour the Baroque architectural treasure Palazzo Chigi Zondadari with an in-house art historian. • We’ll meet in the courtyard. I’ll share some background on the palace (built in the early 18th century) and the Chigi Zondadari family who has owned it for centuries. First, we’ll explore the Cortemporanea art project, which features different contemporary artists every year. • We’ll tour the well-preserved main floor, or piano nobile, filled with artworks from the permanent collection and pieces from contemporary artists. You’ll see furniture designed by 18th-century architect and poet Agostino Fantastici, as well as 17th-century corami (embossed and handcrafted leather), and other archaeological finds. The Bust of Alexander VII (1657) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini is the most important. • You’ll enjoy complimentary aperitivo in the ballroom, featuring wine produced by the family farm, Podere Olmo, and savory snacks. • Wrapping up, I’ll spend time talking about the palace’s curatorial approach, and you’ll be able to ask questions about the galleries and neighborhood. We’ll trace the city’s transformation from a humble ninth-century village to the bustling metropolis of today. • Begin at the remnants of the city’s original walls, built in the ninth century when Spain was under Muslim rule. • Make our way to the 13th-century San Nicolás de Bari de los Servitas, Madrid’s oldest church, and see other surviving medieval buildings such as the 15th-century Torre de los Lujanes, which once housed the nobility. • Conclude our walk in the relative present—the grand, 18th-century Plaza Mayor. Throughout the tour, I’ll point out hidden treasures like a medieval door made out of wood and tombstones reused in unexpected ways. You are invited to our historic studio in the lively Monti neighborhood where we will share ancient secrets about the craft that you can apply to your own work of art. Surrounded by original tools, sketches by famous Italian artists, and important mosaic masterpieces, you will learn about distinctly Roman techniques. During this course, you will create your own unique piece of art — utilizing the principles of texture, composition, and marble tile cutting in the process. A master mosaicist will guide you based on ancient Roman mosaic rules and methods. You will leave the workshop with a one-of-a-kind, 7 by 5 inch masterpiece to commemorate your time in the Eternal City. Please note, this workshop requires handling various tools. For safety reasons, we recommend this experience to those over the age of 12.

Valeria Merlini and Daniela Storti, among the leading Italian experts in restoration and conservation, who have restored numerous masterpieces including three paintings by Caravaggio, offer visitors the chance to understand the importance of the artisanal aspect of an artist’s creative work in a journey that will enrich people’s relationship with art. In our atelier, guests will experience art in a direct and intimate way, being able to observe from up close the restorers’ work and learning about the fascinating world of art techniques and materials. At the end of this exclusive artistic experience, we like to offer our guests a small aperitif, that includes a glass of prosecco or wine and a few traditional Italian snacks.

We will meet at 18.30 in Sirkeci and I will show you some hidden spots in old Istanbul and we will have tea/coffee in a very nice rooftop with an amazing Istanbul view!!! You will have a chance to eat Turkish kebabs with vegetarian tapas. This is a restaurant for mainly locals. Dinner will be followed by dessert and we will do the closing with Turkish coffee :) You will have a chance to try more than 10 different Turkish food including soup, starter mezes, kebabs, deserts and soft drinks.
