On December 25, the street is shut to cars and every merchant and home is awash in farolitos and luminarios to celebrate the season. Hot cocoa and cider offered along the way. It's very cold, very pretty, and a bit crowded but fun and festive.

Stop at Ten Thousand Waves on your way down the mountain for a soak or dinner at Izanami.
