Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. Referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka. The massive rock plateau is 200m higher than the surrounding jungles. Sigiriya is only 9 km away from my guesthouse. Cause there are no busses going all the way to the rocks, for a small price I can bring you back and forth for sunrise or sunset. I suggest you go to the Pidurangala Rock. As beautiful as the Lion's Rock but much cheaper!
