GREAT place for small children - the Rainbow Trail is a short, flat loop, and has plenty of things to see. Kids will enjoy the Stream Profile Chamber where you can see fish swimming under water.

Sightseeing
A very short (less than a half mile) hike/walk that gives you one of the best panoramic view of Lake Tahoe possible.
From the Condo, drive about 12 miles East (towards Casinos) on HWY 50, and exit to your right on Cave Rock Road.
Immediately after your exit, Cave Rock Road will curve right slightly, then a sharp left curve. You will go a few hundred feet and reach a hairpin turn to the right, but instead of taking the turn, continue straight into the small gravel/dirt parking lot, park there and follow the trail up to the top of the rock. The very last part of the hike is slightly steep, but we have done the hike with our young son and grandparents, with no problem.

Cave Rock - Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park

Food Scene
Lakefront restaurant - yes it is touristy and the food might be a B but the setting (sit in the back patio which is on the water of the Marina) is A+. You can actually get there via the beach from the condo, it's less than a quarter mile of walking on the sand.

We have been told (by folks we know; who eat sushi way more often than us) that this is the best in South Lake Tahoe.

They provide the poles, bait, buckets, and ponds stocked with trout of various sizes, all you need to do is fish - they can even clean the fish for you! Great activity for small children.

Public indoor ice rink near the condo with skates for rental. Open year round but remember to google them first before going as their public skating hours are somewhat limited.
