You cannot beat the fish and chips (always order the awesome minted mushy peas) in this beautiful pub that looks out over the water. The sticky toffee pudding isn't to be missed either. Make sure you watch the sun setting one evening from this pub too. The huge garden is perfect for lazy summer evenings and makes it very dog and kid friendly.

This stunning, quintessentially English pub next to the beach in Walberswick does an unbeatable Sunday roast. Take the rowing boat ferry from the Southwold side and it's less than a 5 minute walk into Walberswick. Make sure you go crabbing on the little bridge over the water by the harbour - just a couple of minutes from The Bell. An excellent crabbing spot with a coffee hut next door if your kids are early crabbers!

The Southwold Summer Theatre puts on plays all summer that are astonishingly high quality for a small seaside town. Many plays we've watched, wouldn't seem out of place in the West End. Make sure you book your tickets as soon as you arrive so you don't miss out.
