Arthur's is the nearest pub on the route to The Guinness Storehouse, one of the city's foremost tourist attractions. It is popular both with locals and tourists. Naturally it has one of the freshest pints of Guinness in all of Ireland, plus local craft beers. A classic Dublin pub, old style but well appointed. It has been a pub for over 200 years, and has many historical connections, being beside St. Catherines Church, outside of which the patriot, Robert Emmet, was hung, drawn and quartered in 1803.

Shopping

The Liberties, which contain over a dozen arts and antiques dealers, have become known as Dublin’s arts and antiques quarters, a much-cherished part of the city's culture and heritage. Some of the important places in the Liberties are the National College of Art and Design, the Digital Skills Academy and the Iveagh Market. People in the Liberties are among the friendliest people in Dublin. If you are walking along the streets in the Liberties, or visiting a pub, be sure to engage a local in a conversation — you will have an authentic experience. People from the Liberties are interested in visitors, and like to talk! Note: The Liberties is an inner city area. While it is generally safe, there is not much for tourists to do here at night, (unless you are going to the Tivoli Theatre).

Fish & Chips... if you want to experience what Dubliners have been eating for years, check out Leo Burdocks on Werburgh Street. This is a landmark where there is always a queue and well worth the wait. It's a take away which means basically no sitting down. However, if you go towards Christ Church and on the left of that you will find a small park, more like a big garden where you can sit down to sample this delicious food or why not eat in the grounds of Christ church. Don't forget to ask for napkins...
