Gus' Pretzels is a St. Louis institution. Delicious traditional pretzels and other varieties, pretzel sandwiches and hot dogs or bratwurst inside pretzels. A great place for hungry kids and adults.

Technically a park, but filled with sculptures, fountains, pools and other things to climb on, walk through and enjoy very hands-on. Kids love climbing on things but adults enjoy sitting in the park and enjoying the view of St. Louis this location offers.

A huge and beautiful botanical garden, nestled within the city limits. There is an admission fee but there are lots of different gardens to see and trails to walk. My favorite is the peaceful Japanese garden and my daughter loves feeding the fish in the koi pond.

And...spend some time outside the museum to see Art Hill and the amazing views of Forest Park. It's right next to the (also free) St. Louis Zoo.
