The Island's most hip restaurant on the west side of the Island. Go there for the amazing sunsets and seafood. The restaurant has a boat to collect sailors coming from Lymington and a shuttle to collect Londoners arriving in Yarmouth! It is expensive and so popular you need to book well in advance in the peak season.

A working Catholic Benedictine monastery situated just outside Ryde on a beautiful estate. The monastery is a listed 20 century building. You can see ( and feed) the old variety of pigs which the monks are rearing together with their free-range chickens. It has an excellent tea room and cakes and local produce is on sale in the shop. You can also walk down the bridle path to the Fishbourne pub ( see separate entry). Services are 10.00am on Sundays with Gregorian chant. Highly recommended!

A rather charming ( if bumpy !) ride on the local railway made of old London underground carriages. We like to buy a return to Shanklin where we alight and then walk the coastal path to Sandown ( plenty of cafes and bars for refreshment) and then pick the train up to return to Ryde.
